I initially came here in September of 2017 for my newly adopted cat's first vet visit. The staff was kind and friendly. Dr. Kimmel was nice, patient, and extremely informative in answering my many first time cat owner questions. It was obvious she had a lot of pride in her work and care for her patients. Now, January of 2018, my cat has been having some urinary problems. They were able to get me in first thing the morning after I called, had his diagnostics tests done in just a couple hours, and now he's back home with meds less than 24 hours later. I don't typically leave reviews but I was so impressed with the care my cat received I feel like I should. I felt that their care of my cat, Hermes, was exceptional! They were attentive, answered my questions well and treated me like a competent pet owner which I really appreciated. Not only that but they were conscious of care cost at every turn and willing to offer me cheaper alternatives. What really impressed me was that the vet I saw helped me understand what she was thining and why she was doing the exam and tests that she was doing and let me choose the direction of my cats care, while keeping me informed of my options. Dr. Blouin is, by far, the BEST veterinarian I've ever visited. If you bring your feline family members to her, she'll treat them with the dignity and respect they deserve. The entire clinic is cat-centric - from the fish in the waiting room to the bird feeders outside every exam room window - to the curtains covering the exam room doors. When Dr. Blouin examines your cat, she'll tell you exactly what she's doing and why. She's gentle and soft-spoken, and will even perform her exams while kneeling on the floor if she thinks that will benefit your cat. This office is small and cozy. They have tea/coffee for you while you wait in the lobby. There's a small parking area behind the building in the alley. You can easily miss the office while driving down 4th street, but look out for the purple sign and you will know where it is at.The staff is very friendly and helpful. I had called for an appointment and they explained the types of services and vaccinations they offer. They book appointments quickly so be sure to make an appointment as soon as possible if you need one. As nice as Dr. Forster-Blouin was, my kitty was really mad and uncomfortable being in the office. I had felt really bad and embarrassed that my cat had scratched the vet while she was trying to handle him. I was frustrated that after the first visit I had to pay $108 for no rabies shot, just an angry cat. I understood the fee they charged for the aggressive cat handling (he did scratch her, after all).They prescribed my cat gabapentin to try to calm him down prior to bringing him in again. When we returned, my cat did not seem to have any change in behavior and that's when they referred me out to another doctor that does home visits. I'm happy to say at least they did not try to see him and then charge me for it!Their prices are pretty expensive - but it is because they are thorough with information and procedures. Overall, I understand that they need to charge the fair price for a visit, but it does make up for the fact that the staff are very friendly and the Doc is very knowledgable. Read Less

I no longer live on the west coast and Corvallis Cat Care is one of the places I miss the most. Dr. Blouin and her staff are kind and compassionate. When my cat, Rosie, needed some teeth surgery, Dr. Blouin explained the procedure to me in detail and was happy to answer all my questions. I'm so glad we moved to Corvallis and were able to get the level of care they provide for my cats. The environment is calm and perfect for cats that are scared at other offices. The staff are wonderful. I can't recommend Corvallis Cat Care enough. Dr. Blouin is so passionate about her patients, getting the treatment right, and making sure you understand all the options. It wasn't uncommon for her to call on weekends and check in on our girl as her condition progressed. I don't know when she sleeps. The best cat veterinary practice! Amazingly affordable too, and compared to what you get at the other clinics around here, their service is superior in every aspect. Firstly, everyone on staff is super nice and genuinely loves their patients. They have a few vets, but Dr. Blouin, who founded the practice, is one of the best diagnosticians I have ever met. I'm counting human ones too. She analyzes her patient's conditions from all aspects and cares for the patient's life quality first and foremost. As a cat parent, I've learned so much from her, and no matter what happens to my kitties I feel that Dr. Blouin has got my back, she's always there and enthusiastic to work. Second, and very important, is that this is a cat-only clinic. Most cats go through unnecessary stress because Willamette Vet Clinic and OSU's Vet Hospital put dogs and cats in the same room. Cats are terrified even if the dogs are nice! And these above mentioned ones just simply do not care to consider what a cat needs to be comfortable (even after many of their customers commented) and their staff lacks expertise on cats, they mostly focus on dogs. If you want your cat friend to have the least amount of vet visit stress and make sure you are taking them to a place that specializes in their needs, just go straight to Corvallis Cat Care. They encourage adoption of cats from shelters, and will honor any certificate for a first-time complimentary exam. Read Less

I highly recommend Corvallis Cat Care as a regular vet. The entire staff is empathetic, caring, and knowledgeable. They guided us through hospice care with one cat (and sent us a condolence card when he passed) and are currently treating our other cat's kidney problems. Because they are a smaller practice with regular hours, the doctors are able to confer with each other and be familiar with your cat's condition. (This does also mean that if your cat needs emergency care you will need to go to an emergency vet because they can't always see your cat right away and are not available after hours.) Their highest priority is your cat's health and well-being, so they will help you choose treatments based on what you can afford (if possible). You can also leave your cat for a day visit if needed, and you can rest assured they will keep an eye on your kitty! Read Less

I wish Corvallis Cat Care would take human patients, because they offer exactly what I'm looking for in a clinic. We recently lost our elderly kitty after a long struggle with a medical mystery. The doctors approached Bodhi's care with true compassion and were reasonable in their approach with diagnostics and treatment. I really appreciated how they thoughtfully suggested conventional diagnostic procedures when they felt they would help us to make a change in treatment. Treatment was the best mix of western medicine and treatments 'outside of the box.' Bodhi received conventional medications such as antibiotics for infection and opiates for pain, alongside supportive alternative treatments such as craniosacral therapy and hemp. In this way, I felt safe knowing his case was being viewed through the lense of science-based western medicine without feeling trapped by the limited options it sometimes offers. Likewise, we were able to benefit from the tried and true traditional knowledge of alternative approaches, with the security of western medicine. When it was time to say goodbye to Bodhi, Dr. Blouin was there, really there. Her approach to the situation was entirely supportive and compassionate. The two of them have known each other a long time, and he seemed happy to have her there at the end. I took advantage of a free new patient exam offer at Corvallis Cat Care for July and a similar offer through the Heartland Humane Society to try out both CCC and the Willamette Veterinary Hospital. Despite the latter being closer to me, I decided to go with CCC. The services needed for my 3-4 month old kitten were slightly cheaper and the approach seemed more thoughtful and less clinical. At Willamette, I spent the majority of the ~80 minutes I was there waiting to see the doctor or tech. I spent much less time waiting at CCC, but they still apologized for how long I had to wait. When I needed to come back for a vaccination, I showed up about 20 minutes early for the appointment and everything was finished before the originally scheduled appointment time. Read Less

One who had extremely special needs, one who needs a little extra tooth care and one who is in good health. So I found this place with a quick google search and decided to take my little fur baby in, well fur-less in this case.  I was impressed I have been to veterinarians in portland, wilsonville, salem, keizer, klamath falls, and albany, both good and bad experiences.  At first you're drawn aback a little because it's not like your typical veterinary office, it looks like a house so I almost missed it because I was looking for a building.  Then I went in the front staff were very friendly, the veterinary tech and the veterinarian were friendly as well. They answered all questions and then told me some things I already knew as well.  They were extremely nice to my little man and DIDN'T treat him like some veterinarians that seem to be "all business, trying to get everything done as fast as possible".The veterinarian recommended some labs however didn't try to force me into anything, she wasn't rude, condescending, there was no attitude, it was more of a "if you're interested we can do this".  They show you how much things cost before they do anything and what I really appreciated was that she was honest about not wanting to over vaccinate (which I totally agree with, because some of it seems unnecessary).She was very caring, she let me know that since he was neutered recently (at a different veterinarian) that it wouldn't be a good idea to get him his rabies until he had a little time to recuperate since his immune system just took a bit of a hit from that.  Her veterinary tech was very nice and even went out of her way to look up some travel information for me. They also had Darwins cat raw food diet which was impressive because I am waiting on my order, they let me buy some to get him through until the order I placed gets here. I like the fact that their office is a "cat only" set up because it allows the veterinarians to concentrate on the feline species with their vast knowledge and allow for a more caring personal visit, when I take my little guy to the veterinarian I want someone who actually cares about how he's doing and asks questions or answers my concerns, just like my children(s) doctor does. The prices were not bad at all especially for here in Corvallis where everything is overpriced, and the service was well worth the price I did pay.It's also a comfortable office, it isn't noisy, and it doesn't have your typical veterinary office smells that can cause your pets to get stressed out. Overall more than deserving of a 5 star rating.  I would recommend taking your feline friends here for care. Read Less

I can't recommend Corvallis Cat Care enough. Our cat has cancer. Dr. Blouin has done everything possible to help. When the standard treatments didn't work, she and her office called vets all over the place to find a rare medicine. She ended up overnighting some from Arizona. She calls to check up on him and discuss treatment plans at 9:30 at night and on the weekends. (She also calls during the day, but I find that less remarkable.) If she's not sure what to do, she talks to multiple specialists to learn about a course of treatment, then provides us with the information so that we can make an informed decision. Today, there is over a foot of snow on the ground, and we are unable to drive down the driveway. Dr. Blouin drove here (risking the Corvallis drivers who can't drive in the snow) and snowshoed up to our house to give our cat medicine and examine him. I don't think there is a another vet out there who will care more about your cat. Read Less

Best cat vet I have ever been to! They always take the time to explain everything and take my opinion into account. They work WITH me to care for my cats. The vet techs (Love Leslie!) are so great and always follow up with a phone call to ask how my boys are doing. I love that all the staff are up to date and knowledgeable on feline nutrition (so many vets are clueless). It even shows in the brands of cat food they offer in the office, no junk brands full of terrible ingredients. Always the best with Corvallis Cat Care! Read Less

I take both of my fur baby's to Dr. Tran.  She is the kind of person who I would describe as having a gentle soul.  She's also a cat person, which give her extra brownie points.  She is very kind and understanding and has answered all my stupid, wacky questions.  Dr. Tran also gives a lot of great advice for those of us who are trying to be a little more earth friendly with our kitties.My youngest kitty, Bunny (yes, my cat is named Bunny.  You can imagine the problems I have picking up prescriptions for her)  is a menace to Dr. Tran and her poor vet tech, Ted.  While Bunny loved my last vet, he just couldn't help her in the way I was hoping.  Dr. Tran has gotten Bunny's allergies mostly under control and also helped with some of her behavioral issues.If you're a cat person, this is definly the vet for you!  But don't expect a cheap bill when you leave.  You will pay for top notch care for your feline.  I consider it to be well worth the price.
