They took great care of our newly adopted dog yesterday! The waiting room and exam room were immaculately clean--no easy feat at the start of shedding season. The staff and vet we saw were so kind and patient with our somewhat anxious dog, and took the time to answer myriad questions. They even helped us obtain paperwork we needed for the city dog license--something we had attempted to do and been brushed off by the dog's previous vet in Albany. So glad we found CVH, will be coming back in the future. Read Less

Dr. Gross cared for the cat I grew up with when my parents and I first moved here in 2004 till the day she died in 2014. He has taken excellent care of my own kitty, who is a 5 year old rescue, and my lab puppy who is 11 months old and is my service dog in-training. It's super important for disabled people to have good vets for their service dogs. I trust him more than my own doctors any day. He is very patient and confident in what he knows, and helps dispel a lot of myths you hear from everyone, especially when trying to raise a puppy and you have a brain injury and just can't process it all. Today I got a free appointment because I had accidentally been overcharged $200 on a past visit. Yay, free stuff! I have tried other vets in town (Town & Country was terrible!). I have had to take my dog to Willamette Veterinary Hospital after hours due to a problem he was having, and though they were very nice, thorough, and followed up with me a lot (almost to an invasive number of phone calls), Dr. Gross seems more knowledgeable, resourceful, confident, and organized which is good for such a small place compared to a huge place with more doctors, so he will remain my regular vet until I leave the area, at which point I will ask him for a recommendation! We added a new dog to our family last October from the local shelter. He came with a lot of abuse and anxiety issues. Thinking he could jump, our new dog decided he would try to jump a two foot metal wire fence, missed, and punctured through his skin late on a friday night, leaving gaping holes in his side. Though the emergency vet is good, they are pricey and always add on unneeded work so we decided to call our regular vet and leave a message. We received a quick response but the vet said they could see us on Monday even though our dog had gaping wounds and air bubbles forming under his skin. We waited until Saturday and started calling other vets but most were not open or couldn't make time to see us. Wen we called Corvallis Veterinary Hospital, the staff and doctor were adamant that our dog been seen as soon as possible. They took time to squeeze him for immediate care and gave great attention to his wound. He did a very thorough examination to make sure our dog's chest cavity hadn't been punctured. The doctor was slow and gentle with our anxious beast of a dog and follow up visits to check on his drainage tube ad stitches were great. The doctor also took care of a potentially cancerous growth during the process. The staff was helpful and vet nice. We very much trust this vet and will definitely be back for our regular check-ups for all our pets. Thank you Corvallis Veterinary Clinic! Read Less

I love Dr. Gross! I adopted a kitty from a rescue last year who was beat up by something in the wild and left with a huge hernia that Dr. Gross has been closely monitoring. He puts up with her antics (she does not think he is a nice man, though I used to work as a vet tech so I know that sometimes you just can't change your furry friend's mind about his or her vet). He also looks after my rascal of a kitten. I took my kitten in to get her tested for FIV when she was little and he came back from drawing blood and she was asleep! Proves how nice of a vet he is if he can take blood from a kitten and she sleeps through it, lol. I feel he is really high on spays and neuters. Since I used to assist doctors in spaying and neutering all the time (up to 25 a day) I know what has to be done. I got a quote from him and it was just insane. But I understand that he wants to make sure that all his patients are taken care of 100%. If I wasn't a student, this wouldn't be a problem. Running tests, giving fluids, all that stuff is great, but usually not necessary. I also feel like charging so much will discourage his clients who aren't so well off to NOT spay or neuter, which could prove disastrous for their pets. The clinic I worked at did spays and neuters very cheap and just considered it a sort of community service. I still give him 5 stars because I really, genuinely think this is a great clinic. Dr. Jason Gross and his staff at the Corvallis Veterinary Hospital are five star people that make this establishment the best! It all started with Bennington.
