I feel like their top priority is making money. I brought my new kitten in who obviously had ringworm. They took a black light test and confirmed it but they pushed very hard for a lab test which we would have to wait a week for the results and cost a lot more money. Then they wanted me to come back for more follow-up appointments. It's pretty cut and dry with ringworm. I got the topical medication that cleared things up very quickly and never went back for a follow-up. That ...left a bad taste in my mouth but I just ignored it. Then I went to go get a refill for my 1 1/2 year-old old dogs flea medication. They refused to refill it even though I had refills left because she hadn't been in in a certain amount of time. She is completely up to date on all of her shots and I haven't had a reason to need to bring her in. So they're telling me I need to make an appointment so she can be seen for nothing and pay for the appointment just so they can give me prescription that I already have. See More

I found The Vets clinic to be very friendly and helpful in answering any questions I had. They were very gentle and loving to my new puppy! They relayed their knowledge of Cairn terriers, and that was helpful. I highly recommend this clinic in Windsor to anyone looking for a trusting and reliable vet. The staff was also especially warm and friendly.

Small, helpful clinic! All the staff members we had contact with were polite, friendly and helpful. Answered all our questions about our growing puppy (including ones that were probably silly, but we didn't know). I truly felt like our vet wanted us to learn everything we could and understand why and what she was doing! She even called us after our Puppy's shots to check in to make sure she was OK. I walked away feeling like she truly cared about my dog and like any of my concerns were valid.

I have been taking my fur babies to Doctor Houston for more than 12 years, and have been going to The Village Vet since the day the doors opened. On a few occasions I have taken my kids elsewhere, and regretted it every time. I will NEVER go anywhere but The Village Vet or The Barlow Trail Veterinary Clinic EVER again. Dr. Houston and her staff genuinely care about our pets and never try to "upsell" or get us to pay for procedures or products we truly don't need.
Kind, caring, efficient, effective, empathetic, professional yet personable....and above all else....trustworthy. These are the things that matter most to me when it comes to my pet care needs. Not one time have I been disappointed by these folks. Dr. Houston and the rest of the vets/staff are, simply put, a part of our family.
It is with great pleasure I recommend the services of these professionals for all of your pet health care needs.

I've been going for years for well pet visits but when my cat had problems they really were inept at handling the situation. Her test was not sent out until several days after the order. Also I waited an hour picking up prescriptions when I let them know I would be there the day ahead. They just are not organized enough for me and my cats safety. Very disappointed.

I love the Village Vet - and more importantly, my dog Sonny, loves this Vet! It's a very calm, quiet place even when it's busy. My dog, prior to coming here, didn't like to go to the Vet. He had surgery for a huge, painful hematoma here - they did a super job. Sonny actually pulls to get into the Office. They are a 10 in my book!!!

Dr. Jaime Houston has cared for our pets at the Village Vet in Damascus for many years. Dr. Houston is kind, funny, creative, communicative and compassionate throughout the routine visits, emergencies and even the eventual death of one of our elderly dogs. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found someone to share our journey as pet owners who asks great questions, demonstrates incredible bedside manner, and is affordable despite the high costs associated with veterinary care. Doctor Houston is a very knowledgeable and caring person, and a skilled surgeon. Our dog had some challenging allergies that didn't respond to multiple medicines and therapies, but she continued to work the problems and eventually found a combination that worked. That improved his quality of life tremendously! When he tore ligaments in his knees (on separate occasions), Dr. Houston surgically repaired them and worked with us over the next 4 months to heal and rehabilitate his leg, customizing the program based on his progress and needs each time. He was so happy that he could run and play again. The entire staff treats our dog as if he were theirs, with love and compassion, always acting in his best interest.

Dr. Houston and the rest of the veterinarians and staff are WONDERFUL!!! Having cats who have been patients of The Village Vet for several years, I have come to know Dr. Houston and the staff very well. I highly recommend them for your dogs and cats! Through life and death situations, one feral cat who adopted us, a kitten we found on the highway, a cat with kidney failure, and routine checkups, Dr. Houston has always had our cats' best interest at heart. She has always treated our cats as her own, given us good advice, been respectful of the cost of treatments, and held our hands, more than once! She is just a delightful person too. Give The Village Vet a try for excellent care at a good price!

The vet is AMAZING!!! She needs to be more involved in how the business aspect because it is not amazing. For exams, she is not only a wonderful vet but very reasonably priced. For more extensive things such as surgery, you may want to get an absolute quote in writing because my experience is that they charge at least 2 times of what they quote in person. Ask questions when you get the written quote like, "is there any other additional charge that could happen". Make them put it in writing or don't go through with the service. Dr. Huston is worth it but be careful about what you will be charged for a service.

I cannot say enough great things about this small clinic. It came recommended by my neighbor when I was upset about other clinics, including the specialist by the way, who kept wanting to charge me to run more test and still not helping my dog. Dr. Brenner chose to look at the test that had already been done, suggested a trial of something completely different then what we had been doing. Well, my dog is finally doing better and steroid free! If I there is a catch it was that they were busy and I did have to wait about 10 minutes past my appointment to get in. That is less than I always have to wait to see MY doctor, and it was easy to see why they were as busy as they were. From now on i am going not going anywhere else!

I have to give one of my dogs some anxiety meds. They offered me more than one option and spend plenty of time discussing it with our family. This dog also doesn't tolerate a vet visit and they made a house call. They were so patient with the poor big guy - I was very impressed. Thank you!

The vet is AMAZING!!! She needs to be more involved in how the business aspect because it is not amazing. For exams, she is not only a wonderful vet but very reasonably priced. For more extensive things such as surgery, you may want to get an absolute quote in writing because my experience is that they charge at least 2 times of what they quote in person. Ask questions when you get the written quote like, "is there any other additional charge that could happen". Make them put it in writing or don't go through with the service. Dr. Huston is worth it but be careful about what you will be charged for a service.

I cannot say enough great things about this small clinic. It came recommended by my neighbor when I was upset about other clinics, including the specialist by the way, who kept wanting to charge me to run more test and still not helping my dog. Dr. Brenner chose to look at the test that had already been done, suggested a trial of something completely different then what we had been doing. Well, my dog is finally doing better and steroid free! If I there is a catch it was that they were busy and I did have to wait about 10 minutes past my appointment to get in. That is less than I always have to wait to see MY doctor, and it was easy to see why they were as busy as they were. From now on i am going not going anywhere else!

I have taken my cat to all the vets near the Damascus area. Not until i found Dr. Huston at village vet had i found a veterinarian who helped my cat. I am so pleased with this veterinarian and staff, even if i move ill drive the distance to come here again! I can not thank them enough and HIGHLY reccomend this vet above any other in not just the area, but all of Oregon!

They are our new family vet! They took EXCELLENT care of neutering our rat. Remy had a great stay, was loved by all and we couldn't have been happier! <3 them!

Outstanding Veterinary care by Dr. Houston and the entire Village Vet team! Dr. Houston is the best. Our pup actually looks forward to, "going to the vet"! :)
