The Ark Veterinary Clinic is a full service small animal clinic, owned by Mick Helton, DVM, since 1986. Christie Stone, DVM joined our team in 2010. We offer compassionate, up-to-date medical care, including complete physical examinations, internal medicine consultations, preventative medicine, dermatology, allergy treatment and surgery. We also offer dental care, laboratory services and diagnostic imaging. We pride ourselves on client communication and trust. Our goal is to provide competent, comprehensive and caring health care for the life of your pet. We strive to earn your trust, satisfaction and respect, so that you might tell someone else about us.

The vets do a good job with caring for my animals. My problem that made me switch vets was my cat had a blood draw appointment the receptionist checked us in and I was early for my appointment my time...
The vets do a good job with caring for my animals. My problem that made me switch vets was my cat had a blood draw appointment the receptionist checked us in and I was early for my appointment my time came up.I let the receptionist know ahead of time I had another appointment at 3pm the day before and I ask ahead of time how long the appointment would be I was told 5 min or more depending on my cat if I could arrive earlier I could be seen I arrived before 230pm I waited and watched vet tech walk back and forth.it was not a busy day. I got tired of waiting because it will normally take 20min of waiting after my appointment time before I see the vet. I was told it won't take long. I stood up after waiting what I thought was too long to waitfor a vet tech to see my appointment to draw blood from my cat. And told the receptionist I'm tired of waiting I have another appointment.I'm having my animals records transferred to another vet that honor s appointment times.Its too bad I have been with this vet clinic for a long time. In very dissatisfied with the staff

We have used the Ark for almost 19 years, Dr Helton and his staff always treat us and our kids like we were part of his family, the new owners not so much, I found Dr Hardy to be unprofessional in her comments about a fellow employee, also they deemed a treatment for fleas that my cats and dog have been on for years as too expensive, and didn't give us a choice also they have change brands of cat food......office's staff was beyond inept when it came to my bill, which was larger than what we would have paid for when Mick owned the practice, we are currently seek a new Vet for the care of our dog and 2 cats. Its a shame always liked going here.....not so much doesn't feel like we're part of the family ......

Our dog had to have emergency surgery late yesterday. Her appointment was at 2, they determined by 3 that it was Piyo ( an infected uterus) and that she was in a critical situation. A doctor (Dr. Sangl I believe) came in from a day off especially for our pup. Surgery was done before 6pm & she was ready to be released. They strongly recommended that we take her to the emergency vet for overnight monitoring, since the Arc doesn’t staff the clinic over night. We decided to follow their recommendation, and they sent us with a bag of IV fluid, all her meds and blankets to wrap her in for transport. The Arc was excellent with our pup. I’m glad to say that she is home, and on her way to a full recovery!

I called to ask how much it would cost to have our sweet old girl put to sleep, because of a mass tumor. They quoted me the total would be $125 give or take. They put us in a room to say goodbye to her. There was no exam or treatment. In the middle of our family saying goodbye with tears in our eyes, we paid. They brought in the invoice and the bill was $301. They took advantage of us in our emotional state. Very unethica and wrong! We won’t be coming back. There are better more professionals Vets just down the road.

Good and thorough but kind of have a A typical standard way of threating. Do not get me wrong though. Although l, I would recomend them for your veterinary needs but not to be so hasty on recomended meds. Unless for a chronic condition. Just like humans it is good to find alternative methods of treatment than steroids and some meds. A little pricey also.

My Pomeranian and I have been there twice and we can both say we will be with them for life! Dr. Helton is the sweetest vet I've met and is wonderful with my girl. Very patient and soft spoken. I absolutely love how he handled explaining things to me and handled Clarisse. We met with Dr. Stone the first time and she was wonderful as well! They schedule as soon as possible and they were wonderful when I needed an emergency appointment last year. They are very very fair priced and accept care credit which is great for emergency and expensive procedures. I would recommend them t any one and everyone which is saying a lot because I love my little dog like a child!

I'm not a huge fan of the receptionists, but the vets are great. We take all of our animals here. I had one receptionist get really snippy with me once because I only wanted to buy single doses of flea treatment as opposed to buying 3 doses each for all my animals, I found her to be quite rude. That being said, the vets and vet techs are very personable and thorough.

My wife and I and our two cats moved to Eugene a few years ago. We asked around for a good vet clinic and were referred to The Ark. After buying a house on the other side of town with other clinics much closer we wouldn't take our two furballs anywhere else. It's worth the drive for the service. I am especially impressed with Dr. Helton every time I'm there. He is kind, caring, and a straight shooter. Thanks for the great experience.

I had a concern about my cat (turned out it was a flea issue) but the wonderful and caring staff at the Ark were able to make time in their busy schedule for a same day appointment. Dr. Helton took great care of my cat, and me! and we both left knowing we were on the road to recovery - although one of us was not too happy about traveling that road in a carrier. I highly recommend the Ark to any pet or pet owner.

After all this time in business, still no competent office organization or follow through to ensure that a paw print was made. Eager to take the money, deposit it and move on. When brought to the front desk 's attention, she was quick to try to pass the buck. Complete disregard for the heartache incurred a second time by their complete incompetence. No trust now that the test results were even handled correctly. I will never forget my experience with The Ark.

We traveled 1 1/2 days to return to Eugene from our summer residence in B.C ,Canada when a serious problem escalated and no longer could be treated over the phone -------- we would never take our dog to anyone else . We cannot say enough about the whole clinic . As a physician myself ,I can truly say that I would love to have a physician for myself that was as caring and compassionate . 5 stars is not enough for this clinic !

I have been taking my 8 year old cat to The Ark since he was an itty bitty kitten and can't say enough nice things this place and all the staff there! I love that they specialize in preventative medicine and are understanding when it comes to cost conscious pet owners. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. And I appreciate that the waiting room is segregated as to not upset the pups and kitties. Thank you for providing great care to both my furry friends over the years!

Our dog had to have emergency surgery late yesterday. Her appointment was at 2, they determined by 3 that it was Piyo ( an infected uterus) and that she was in a critical situation. I TOOK HIM TO ANOTHER VET ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO AND ARK DIDNT EVEN SEND OVER THE XRAYS I PAID FOR WITH HIS RECORDS! FOUND OUT ON FRIDAY WHAT HAS BEED CAUSING THE COUGH IS A LARGE CANCEROUIS MASS GROWNING OFF HIS SPLEEN. ITS TO LARGE AND HE IS TOO OLD TO DO ANYTHING FOR NOW...HE HAD BEEN COUGHING FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS AND THEY NEVER ONCE CAUGHT ON TO OR EVEN XRAYED CORRECTLY TO SEE THIS MASS THAT NOW HAS BEEN THE DEATH OF MY BELOVED BOY FOR THE LAST 13YRS......WORST VETS EVER

I'm not a huge fan of the receptionists, but the vets are great. We take all of our animals here. I had one receptionist get really snippy with me once because I only wanted to buy single doses of flea treatment as opposed to buying 3 doses each for all my animals, I found her to be quite rude. That being said, the vets and vet techs are very personable and thorough.

My wife and I and our two cats moved to Eugene a few years ago. We asked around for a good vet clinic and were referred to The Ark. After buying a house on the other side of town with other clinics much closer we wouldn't take our two furballs anywhere else. It's worth the drive for the service. I am especially impressed with Dr. Helton every time I'm there. He is kind, caring, and a straight shooter. Thanks for the great experience.

I had a concern about my cat (turned out it was a flea issue) but the wonderful and caring staff at the Ark were able to make time in their busy schedule for a same day appointment. Dr. Helton took great care of my cat, and me! and we both left knowing we were on the road to recovery - although one of us was not too happy about traveling that road in a carrier. I highly recommend the Ark to any pet or pet owner.

After all this time in business, still no competent office organization or follow through to ensure that a paw print was made. Eager to take the money, deposit it and move on. When brought to the front desk 's attention, she was quick to try to pass the buck. Complete disregard for the heartache incurred a second time by their complete incompetence. No trust now that the test results were even handled correctly. I will never forget my experience with The Ark.

Superb . We have given both Dr.Helton and Dr. Stone difficult and rather unique problems with our 100# German Shepherd [Crom] and they have handled them with the highest level of care and compassion ....

We have given both Dr.Helton and Dr. Stone difficult and rather unique problems with our 100# German Shepherd [Crom] and they have handled them with the highest level of care and compassion . We traveled 1 1/2 days to return to Eugene from our summer residence in B.C ,Canada when a serious problem escalated and no longer could be treated over the phone -------- we would never take our dog to anyone else . We cannot say enough about the whole clinic . As a physician myself ,I can truly say that I would love to have a physician for myself that was as caring and compassionate . 5 stars is not enough for this clinic !

I appreciate the doctor they had on staff that day... your personality and friendliness will surely bring me back and others in the door!Clean and modern facility and they love animals!!!! I have been taking my 8 year old cat to The Ark since he was an itty bitty kitten and can't say enough nice things this place and all the staff there! I love that they specialize in preventative medicine and are understanding when it comes to cost conscious pet owners. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. And I appreciate that the waiting room is segregated as to not upset the pups and kitties. Thank you for providing great care to both my furry friends over the years!

We have bin going here for about 17 yrs now. Dr. Helton is the best vet in our opinion. The staff are very friendly and they care about the animals the take care of.
