This vet hit my dog. He was jumping around, and barking at a dog in the next room. She knows he reacts in this way to other dogs, as I have communicated with her many times. Additionally, she asked me if I thought he was the right dog for me, and to feel free to give him up. I notice on her FaceBook page, she has a lot of pets looking for new homes. If makes me wonder if she gets a kickback from this kind of thing. As if that was not upsetting enough, she had repeatedly refused to: - prepare for the appointments that cost $3 per minute. I sent three separate videos ahead of time for her perusal for two separate appointments about his back legs, so she could see his limp. She refused to watch them, and also refused to examine him properly when he was in her office. She did not manually feel his legs, or give him x-rays to determine the problem. She simply stated that he is just a puppy (more on that later), and he only needs to increase his mind/body connection. -Review his basic info. After four separate appointments, Dr Teri Sue refuses to get his information correct. Basic things, such as his date of birth, when she has seen him last, health concerns, and she even repeatedly gets his breed wrong, even with repeated reminders from me on all of these points. She actually insisted to me that he is a puppy! By the way, he is 4 years old! Not only did she insist, but told me that I was arguing with her when I once again patiently reminded her that he is indeed FOUR years old. - Insists that there is nothing wrong with his health in the areas of concern that I bring him in for. His back legs recently became wobbly, and limp to the side as he strides. This is a recent occurrence, that myself(who walks him on a multiple and daily basis) has noticed, starting in late October, and steadily getting worse over the last couple months. She said he is fine, and refused to properly address my concerns. Additionally, I am having concerns with his itchy coat, that is thinning along his spine, dramatic shedding, and some additional little bald patches. She did not examine the condition of his coat, and told me “I’ve seen worse”, and to just give him some fish oil. - Insisting I buy and/or use products I have repeatedly indicated I am uncomfortable with. She sells a lot of products, and spends much more time pushing her products than examining my dog. Even after I told her REPEATEDLY that I have done my research (told her this on three of the four appointments), and am uncomfortable with feeding my dog cod liver oil, especially the dangerous brand she sells, she pushes it, and spends a lot of time trying to convince me that it is the best. All this time that I am paying her to actually look at my dog’s health issues. She recommended me to read a certain raw feeding website, and she doesn’t read it herself, or keep up on the information. She repeatedly insists on things that are warned against on this specific website. I have read over everything, and joined the FB group for this site. It states that feeding cod liver oil is dangerous, and advises against this. All this to say, Dr Wright has no respect for her patients, clients, or their wallets. P.S. She has also replied to my reviews on other sites stating that there is additional private info, and making gaslight-esque hints. Please be aware that I have laid out the information throughly, and even so, there is never any excuse to hit my dog, or tell me to give him up. Read Less

This is hands down the best holistic vet in town. TeriSue and the office is amazing. I recommend her all the time. She gives amazing care to all my dogs, and me too! I learn from her all the time about holistic care. :) She has helped me with my diabetic dog in extending her life and sight as well as other minor issues in my pack. All with a positive outcome. They all truly care about your animals, and having her come to the house and she sits on the floor and examines the pet while the others are kissing her is just heart warming and makes them feel so comfortable, as well as me. :) I just can't recommend her enough. I have decided to raise my new puppy in the healthiest way possible by feeding a raw diet and avoiding the usual veterinary approach of over vaccinating and prescribing chemical solutions to health care. Dr. Wright fully supports this view. She provided good advice on diet and less toxic approaches to my puppy's care. Instead of taking my puppy to another room for her vaccination, she gave me a treat to feed her while I held her for her shot. I like that approach. Dr Wright seems to really care for my pup and didn't push products and services to inflate the bill. A very pleasant experience. Read Less

I am grateful for the kind, compassionate, and skillful care my animal companions receive from Dr. Teri Sue Wright and her staff. It is an excellent fit for me as Teri Sue approaches the health and well being of my cat and my puppy from a holistic approach considering their diet, exercise, affection, discipline and personality and life stage. Dr. Wright helps to find ways to maximize the health and happiness of my pets without unnecessary medical interventions that may undermine the animals immune system and cause harmful side effects. And at the same time helps me to give them all the medical attention they need. I am more than happy with the prevention and care Balance Veterinary Care offers! Read Less

With a new 11 week old puppy in my home I want to make a change towards more holistic care for her and avoid the chemically based care my previous dogs received at conventional veterinarians. Dr. Teri Sue came highly recommended by several of my friends, so today puppy Rosie and I had our first appointment. I am thrilled with the level of care she received and the comprehensive plan Teri Sue laid out for her long term health. I chose a course of two minimal dose parvo/distemper vaccinations four weeks apart as a way to provide full immunity for Rosie. If you are ready to get away from the expensive and harmful over vaccination, heart worm treatment, chemical flea control, etc. etc.offered by most vets then I can highly recommend Balance Veterinary Care. What the other reviewer said is all true. I called looking for a vet to examine my older cat who's limping. Left a message. Two days later, the receptionist calls me back. How much for an office exam? The vet charges $3 per minute and a "consultation" usually runs 45 minutes to an hour. So that's possibly $180 dollars for a "holistic assessment of the animal including diet and supplements." Considering that's not even why I need a vet, that's pretty outrageous. What other professional charges by the MINUTE? (Other than phone sex operators.) And you can't opt out of this "service" either. For an extra $35, she'll come to your house and tell you why the food you're giving your pet is wrong and why you should buy the expensive supplements she sells. Hopefully she'll throw in realigning the animal's chakras and evaluating his/her chi for free, but it's unlikely. If you have money to throw away on your pet's unquantifiable holistic wellness, go ahead and call them. If you need actual veterinary services, go somewhere else. i ended up going to the highly rated Animal Health Associates instead and got excellent care for my pet including x-rays, pain meds, and a professional assessment of his problem. We had to have our sweet dog put to sleep yesterday - my first experience with that so I had incredible anxiety about it.  A friend recommended we work with Dr. Terri Sue Wright from Balance Vet (My Home Vet) and I am so grateful that we did.  The person who took my call was  so kind and helpful - she knew exactly how to walk me through setting up the appointment and she gave me peace of mind.  When Terri showed up at our home, she immediately demonstrated the demeanor that put us at ease.  She looked very professional and had a very welcoming personality.  She came in and greeted us and our dog with compassion and a tone that showed she understood what a monumental experience this was for us.She explained everything that would happen - again, with incredible compassion.  Her word choices were so appropriate and thoughtful.  She was very tender with our little dog and we knew we were in good hands.  We were a mess of tears, but she made us feel so comfortable to be who we needed to be through the process.  She treated us and our dog with such dignity and respect.  Honestly, for it being one of the worst days of our lives, Terri made it as good as it could be.  I will forever be grateful to her for everything she did for us.  I could not recommend her any more highly for an end-of-life procedure.  Being able to do this at home so our dog was comfortable and relaxed was such a gift.  Thank you so much, Terri.  You were our Angel through the process. MY HOME VET IS NOW BALANCE VETERINARYPeople should know what they are getting into when hiring Teri Sue to come to their home. From the very first phone call, the free initial 15 min phone consult, she claimed she had "no idea" it was a free consult and so right away there's problems with what is and isn't agreed on and a convienent lack of communication between her and her recetionist so it's easy for her to put the blame on someone else, which she did. It's a long story but I will try and be brief: she said she wanted to 'help me out' and agreed on a price of $80 and then told ME to call HER receptionist to set up an appointment and tell her that she said she would "do it" for 80 dollars which is exactly what I did. At no point did she say 80 dollars down and then make payments and at no point did her receptionist say it would be a down payment and then payments afterwards. I made it very clear I didn't have enough for a full appointment and thought she was going to come out for 30 minutes or so, as she charges 3 dollars a minute. Nope. She stayed for an hour in which time she looked at a can for a cat food 5 minutes talking about ingredients, typed on the computer, did some weird muscle testing stuff, basically just lolly gagged around for an hour and said I owed her 180 dollars for the appointment. I told her she had agreed to 80 dollars and she blamed her receptionist for the 'misunderstanding' and said she would have to 'have a talk with her'. I seriously wonder if  this is typical with her business but whatever, I was really disappointed in the lack of honestly. She also strongly suggested another 50 dollar snap test I didn't need and failed to even address the issues at hand which were dental disease and high levels of muscle enzymes on my darling boy's blood work. She did test him for bartonellas and he had it so that's the one bright spot, but treating that didn't fix the underlying problem of his muscle enzymes and his dental disease wasn't even addressed, probably because she doesn't make any money off of that issue. She fled the scene and never returned any of my calls or hand written notes for literally months, even after she was paid in full because I actually honor my debts even though I was paying way more than what we had agreed on.  When I finally got a hold of her she claimed to have the wrong email, been busy, etc. etc. Thought it had been 8 months since appointment when it had been 4, tried to get me to switch appointments with my other vet to see her for 45 down and 45 later when I told her we were going for a pre-teeth cleaning appointment. She said no don't get his teeth cleaned he could have kidney problems and scared me really bad about it. I told her it's called dental disease and he NEEDS then cleaned, she said bring him in and I will tell you if he needs them cleaned. Seriously? Why didn't she check his teeth during his 180 dollar appointment? Why didn't he get a special formulated powder for his specific needs? Why didn't he get a call back or any concern at all? Because she got 340 dollars out of me for basically nothing and she didn't feel the need to be a real compassionate human and check up on us after. She also told me "do you see how much he is suffering" ...so you never even call us again? And by the way, my cat isn't 'suffering' and it's really messed up to scare people like that about their pets and then never even contact them again? What a total waste of money for nothing. I am speaking legitimately and truly and when I told someone at a natural pet store about this they said they get complaints about her ALL the time and suggested another natural vet. This happened almost a year ago, so I am not writing it in the heat of the moment. Teri Sue Wright didn't care about my cat whatsoever, just getting my money and that's the truth. Read Less

Read Less
