Clinic hours:
Tuesdays 9-12 and 1-4.
Thursdays 9-12 and 1-4.
We perform dental cleanings on Wednesdays. By appointment only.
Community Veterinary Center is now in it's second year of providing low-cost veterinary care to low-income people. As well as providing basic veterinary care we now provide low-cost dental surgery. Anyone living at 150% or below of the federal poverty level qualifies for our clinics. We have treated over 1,000 pets who otherwise would have suffered disease, parasites, injury, or pain with no relief.
We recommend that you bring $60 with you for your first exam. For payment we accept cash payments, all major credit cards except for American express. We cannot take personal checks.
Our Mission Statement:
1. Provide quality, comprehensive and compassionate veterinary care to the animals of low income caregivers.
2. Promote the humane treatment of animals.
3. Reduce animal overpopulation through affordable spay/neuter programs.
4. Promote responsible animal care through education, preventative medicine, and community outreach.
5. Collaborate with community organizations to achieve common goals.
6. Be fiscally responsible, ensuring the growth and support of our mission and guiding principles.
7. Treat the diverse members of the Lane County community with compassion and respect.
8. Operate a socially responsible and environmentally friendly veterinary clinic.
9. Support the efforts of individuals and organizations who foster and rescue animals.

Love this place. Sliding scale fees based on income. The staff is exceptional and made me feel like a valued customer and we were very well attended to. I had worries about my dogs dental health because as a rescue she had never had dental care. The vet suggested that we wait another year as her teeth are in great shape as opposed to getting a cleaning. As well, I requested an order for a 3 months supply of flea treatment and it was ready the next day. Highly recommended for those on a budget.

My weird, old, masochistic cat decided to fake a UTI just so he could go to a vet. I was reasonably concerned (as I didn't know he was faking it at the time) and the staff was absolutely wonderful. We didn't have an appointment but thanks to a no-show, they got us in quickly. They were the first vets we've been to that discovered the hernia he's had since before we got him, they were fast, knowledgeable, friendly and affordable. Granted, there was nothing wrong with my guy but it definitely cost me less to figure that out there than at any other vet.

Really disappointed! I called and left a message, received a return call a week and a half later(yesterday). The woman I spoke to was RUDE! I took my dog there last year and the staff was nice. I made an appointment because my dog's hip is out of joint!!! She said "well, we can't see him for 3 weeks." She asked how much money I made, which is zero right now. I offered her my bank statement with a branch managers signature. She said well, you're not on food stamps so how do I know if you're broke! WOW, nasty attitude. She was AWFUL! I will NOT go on food stamps until it's a complete and last resort! If you treat people like this then you're treating our pets like this!

I want to tell everyone how wonderful this clinic is. I had an emergency with my cat Baby 2 days ago. I found the clinic online, brought her in with no appt., they did an exam and determined she needed surgery on an abscess. They kept her overnight, did the surgery in the morning sams called me by 11 to pick her up. Not only did they do the surgery about 4 or 5 hrs earlier than they were going to do it, they also charged me less than the initial quote. More importantly, from ...the minute we walked into their facility, we were greeted with such kindness and compassion. From the gals behind the front desk, to the nurses, and to the physician. They were all fabulous in every way. I don't have much money but when I can, I am going to make donations to them so they can keep the facility running. They never asked or mentioned anything about donations or closing their doors, but this truly is a wonderful place to give a contribution to if anyone is able. Thank you COMMUNITY VETERINARY CLINIC for taking such good care of my Baby (and her family). Finding you that day was definitely in God's plan for me and I truly am so grateful you you all!!! See More

Wow, these people were great. The two vet techs that tended our Cammie were absolutely the kindness most skilled techs. They were warm, caring and very knowledgeable. Other vets wanted way too much...
Wow, these people were great. The two vet techs that tended our Cammie were absolutely the kindness most skilled techs. They were warm, caring and very knowledgeable. Other vets wanted way too much money, this was reasonable for our limited budget. I recommend this place to anyone who qualifies as low income. You can not find a better place. Those of you who can donate to this clinic, please do, they do great work!

This clinic provides an amazing service to low income people and their pets. You have to leave your name and number, and they will get back to you. It's not an emergency vet, or a same day service. It is affordable care. I've been in more than once with my dog and left happy with prescriptions in hand. Many hard working volunteers and donations go into making this clinic work.

I tried calling the Community Veterinary Center - they don't answer their phone in person ever. I left voice mails twice. They returned one call - I was on the phone at that moment but called back within several seconds, no more than 30 seconds. Got their voice mail again. No return call the second time. They do not post hours of their clinic on the website. How is someone supposed to get help for their sick animal if there's no information who to call, when to call to talk to someone, they don't return calls, and they don't show when (if ever) they are open? I also contacted the ProBone-O people who use the CVC for clinics, to find out if they knew anything about how to get help for your pet from them. (ProBone-O is only for pets of the homeless BTW, I'm not homeless was just hoping for information so I could get some kind of help). The ProBoneO people were super rude. Ya know, if you want to set yourself up as a charitable organization maybe you should be a little compassionate and accessible for people who are desperate for help? To, um, maybe fulfill your mission, that would be the stated mission that allowed you to get a 501(c)(3) IRS designation as a charity?? How about actually ACTING charitable???

I take my pets here all the time now and recommend this place to everyone. the staff is kind and well managed. there were considerate of me and my pets needs and listened to all of my concerns. they were able to help me with multiple animals at once (i have 4 cats), all in a professional and friendly manner with reasonable prices! It is the first place that I have been where people seemed to care about my low income situation and my animals care. I will be continuing services there for all the vaccinations and needs of my pets. I know they are in good hands here.

Howdy...I would like to tell you about my experiences with the community vet ctr they have been awesome they are the most wonderful caring people you could hope to meet they seem truly happy to see not just me but my animals as well from checking in with cheryl to the vet assistants Dee and Amanda to both Dr Katie and and my favorite Dr Levinson bringing my pet to the vet is an extreamly pleasant experience and affordable.You cant beat great people who care so don't wait any longer if your looking for that special place to take your pet community vet center is the place.

These folks were absolutely great! Seriously. They were VERY fair with our cost, worked with us on every level from income based fees to advising us were to get the least expensive treatment. On top of their willingness to work financially, they solved the problem where another vet did not. They listened to us, really explained the issue and our options, were careful with our dog and asked for permission to give him a treat. Everyone: the vet, vet tech and administrative staff were fantastic. This is a wonderful organization

This is the most amazing veterinary clinic I have ever been to! I am so impressed and grateful for their services today! Most clinics are in it only for the money, and say they care. Granted, they are a business which needs money- understandable. However, these folks really have the biggest of hearts and the best of class! From the manager to techs to the vet....all absolutely wonderful, outstanding, incredible people whom should all be really proud of themselves and what they do! They really made my heart warm, and I cannot thank them enough!

I take my pets here all the time now and recommend this place to everyone. the staff is kind and well managed. there were considerate of me and my pets needs and listened to all of my concerns. they were able to help me with multiple animals at once (i have 4 cats), all in a professional and friendly manner with reasonable prices! It is the first place that I have been where people seemed to care about my low income situation and my animals care. I will be continuing services there for all the vaccinations and needs of my pets. I know they are in good hands here.

Howdy...I would like to tell you about my experiences with the community vet ctr they have been awesome they are the most wonderful caring people you could hope to meet they seem truly happy to see not just me but my animals as well from checking in with cheryl to the vet assistants Dee and Amanda to both Dr Katie and and my favorite Dr Levinson bringing my pet to the vet is an extreamly pleasant experience and affordable.You cant beat great people who care so don't wait any longer if your looking for that special place to take your pet community vet center is the place.

These folks were absolutely great! Seriously. They were VERY fair with our cost, worked with us on every level from income based fees to advising us were to get the least expensive treatment. On top of their willingness to work financially, they solved the problem where another vet did not. They listened to us, really explained the issue and our options, were careful with our dog and asked for permission to give him a treat. Everyone: the vet, vet tech and administrative staff were fantastic. This is a wonderful organization

This is the most amazing veterinary clinic I have ever been to! I am so impressed and grateful for their services today! Most clinics are in it only for the money, and say they care. Granted, they are a business which needs money- understandable. However, these folks really have the biggest of hearts and the best of class! From the manager to techs to the vet....all absolutely wonderful, outstanding, incredible people whom should all be really proud of themselves and what they do! They really made my heart warm, and I cannot thank them enough!
