Have had inconsistent service and varied experiences over many years and many pets. There has been a fairly high turnover both among vets, and staff. The current staff is good and I'm happy with the care my pets are currently receiving. On my last visit, Dr. Morrison was kind, compassionate, and very generous in what turned out to be a difficult visit and a heartbreaking diagnosis. I would recommend the clinic and would give it five stars excepting some past experiences. Read Less

The staff at Eugene animal hospital is exceptional! My rabbit is normally pretty territorial and sassy but he loved Dr. Jodi and was very well behaved for her so I take that as a sign that he's in good hands. She's very knowledgable and made sure that I understood what was going on and how to treat him. They are also very reasonably priced. Santa Clara AH charges $350 for a rabbit neuter and at Eugene AH they only charge $185! Not to mention they are nice enough to let me put a dental procedure my rabbit needed and the neuter together in one procedure to save me money and save my rabbit stress. Very nice vet, would recommend to any exotic pet owner Read Less

If you bring your pet here, please ask a million questions up front and have a clear understanding of what will happen, especially if you leave your pet with them. Both times I have brought Ariel in the end result was not what we discussed previously. The first time was for her dental cleaning. They called and said they were going to pull 4 teeth. When I picked her up they had pulled well over 10 teeth. This was likely necessary and so I didn't make it a big deal, but I would have liked some warning. Most recently I brought my Pomeranian in because she was having issues breathing through her nose. It all began after she threw up some grass so I was sure something was stuck. After the first visit they put her om Temaril P and after a week she was no better, and actually, worse. I brought her back in and requested that we sedate her and look to see what is bothering her. When Dr. Jodi called to let me know she was ready to be picked up she told me she did an x-ray also. I was a little put off by this because we didn't discuss any possibility of an x-ray being done. I mentioned this on the phone and she said don't worry we can discuss when you come in. I thought great they did it because they believed it was in the best interest of my dog and they aren't concerned with the cost and weren't going to have me pay for it since it wasn't authorized. When I showed up the amount of the visit was read off to me. I requested a print out so I could see the summary of charges. The x-ray was indeed on there so I requested to speak with the Dr. as I was told over the phone that would happen. Dr. Jodi came to the counter and didn't say much. I asked about the charge and let her know I was a little upset that they didn't just call me and get authorization especially for something dealing with radiation. She told me that was just silly and that wasn't the reason I was upset she knew it was just because of the cost. At this point I was completely insulted by her unprofessional actions and remarks. She then told me she had given me other discounts because she was being nice and was going to reverse those and take the x-ray charge off. The discount previously had been described to me as being because she was so small and now the story changed. It was clear that my pet's health was not their main focus. I paid the revised bill and was sent on my way. Dr. Jodi didn't review any of the procedure with me or give me any details about following up or when I could expect my pet to feel better. Four days later on new medications and she's still no better and getting worse. I decided I would take her to another vet for a second opinion. This vet requested the x-rays that were done and they were told they needed to be picked up because they were hard copies not digital. I went over on my lunch break and was told "they don't have them." When I asked what she meant she went in back and came out and said they have them, but won't provide them since they weren't paid for. Again, not my pet's best interests in mind. I let them know I would rather pay the new vet for new x-rays and asked who the manager/owner of the clinic is. Of course, it's Dr. Jodi. Unfortunately I found out too late my best friend had almost identical situations happen here, we will not be returning. I hope they enjoy the money they did get out of me without providing any relief to my dog.Read Less

Took fantastic care of my pet rat who need a tumor removed. Presented my with good information/prices about all of my options. Had decent prices and provided clear information about what expenses I was paying for. When there were complications after the surgery (my rat chewed her cut open) and I had to bring her back, they re-anesthetized her and put staples in her incision for no charge. Staff and vets there obviously care very much about the well-being of the animal, rather than just making money (gave follow-up calls to check on her, recognized her/knew her name when I brought her in, didn't overcharge and in fact performed some services free of charge). I highly recommend Eugene Animal Hospital, and would not go anywhere else.Read Less

I look for the full package when it cmes to my animals. I highly recommend the Eugene Animal Hospital. They have a fairly large, fully staffed clinic, excellent vets and excellent staff, from the receptionists to the technicians. I have been to MANY vets in the area looking for a permanent one for my animals, and Dr. Rena Cowen is excellent. I trust this clinic with my animals for complex prcedures down to simple vaccinations (as much as I can trust anyone with my pets), and I am very critical. Case in point- I went in with a potentially infectious cat and they had me g around and bring her into a seperate room used for animals that need to be quarantined so that she would not spread illness to other patients. And they were very attentive to us the entire time we were there, not leaving me alone in a room for long periods. They answered every question, and explained the medical side of things. Dr Cowen has been practicing veterinary medicine for over three decades- and she by all appearances is on top of the latest procedures. Read Less
