In the past the friendly service I have received for my dog has been fabulous! Today however, I needed to replace his flea medicine with a different one because it wasn't working... and the clerk was almost demeaning towards me- while it was no surprise the manager wasn't there, she said she had no idea when the manager would be in (who was needed to complete the paperwork for the exchange) and seemed to be surprised that I would expect anything different. I would rather hear that you have sold out to a foreign management than believe this is the new 'usual' treatment to expect. Read Less

BEWARE!!!!! This place has gone WAY DOWNHILL!!!! Customer service is awful prices have gone so far up here as to make it one of the most expensive around while the level of care has dropped to almost non-existent levels. The vets all seem to be fresh out of school and turn over rate is super high. If you get the same vet twice in a row you should be amazed. Inexperience mixed with high prices is a weird combo. When our dog needed surgery we were told there is only one surgeon that handles four locations. Then the vet casually remarked "the surgeon is not board certified because they took their schooling in another country and did not want to redo the schooling" After two weeks of being yanked around we found a board certified surgeon that would do the surgery for $500 less. I made a huge mistake sticking with them as long as I did and my dog very much suffered for it. After 13 years I will NEVER be back. If you love your pet go elsewhere! Read Less

This place would not even get one star if there was an option to not leave one. I am very disappointed in the service and we've been coming to this hospital for at least 10 years. We recently tried to schedule an appointment due to my pet being very sick which I brought up and they refused to get me an appointment or even allow a drop off. They claimed that they were fully booked and I've left my number to see if any cancellation which I never heard back. I was calling almost daily. In all the years when my dog needed care the most, they declined me and neglected to see us. We've been paying for their banfield plan for almost 10 years and have only used it when truly necessary. I ended up having to take him to a different banfield where they truly tried to help me although they were booked up. They listened to my concern and got me in immediately. I feel like they only care about making money from the plan and have no interest in making sure your pet is taken care of. I am very disappointment with the whole service and situation of everything that has happened. Took my dog here and was disappointed that they did not actually do services they claim on Yelp to do. Yes I'm a real customer. Disappointed that instead of changing their listing to accurately reflect their services, they repetitively flag my true review.  Why not update your services instead???? I have a lhasa Paso. I took him in for a resent ear infection. Which if you have a lhasa then you know their ear hair has to be plucked. They did not do this at any of his appointments. If I could give negative stars, I would. This place isn't even worth one star. I was a wellness plan member with my dog, and one terrible experience is all it takes to lose the rating. Banfield almost killed my dog. I freakin took her in for a dental cleaning. I picked her up and they said she would act "drunk" the rest of the day. They said the anesthetic brought her heart rate under but they gave her more meds and she was fine. Well guess what, the rest of the night my dog was crying in pain like I've never heard before (I will never get the image out of my head), throwing up all night, which turned into blood, and she went limp. I took her back because they are a VET. But they called me right when I walked out the door and told me I need to take her somewhere else. I was livid. They f-ed up my dog and couldn't even take care of their mess. My family ended up paying $1900 in emergency vet bills to save her life. I argued with the vets at Banfield but they would not reimburse me or own up to their mistake. They kept playing the whole situation off and saying that it was "probably some underlying disease". Well guess what, the hospital tested for all the possible diseases and they were all negative. The next morning Banfield even sent the hospital the wrong info for my dog, which caused them to do an extra unnecessary $200 test. In the end, it was that Banfield had given her too much anesthetic FOR A F-ING DENTAL CLEANING and caused a kidney infection that was killing her. We didn't get reimbursed, and we spent all our emergency money to save her. We have a baby. We can't afford Banfield to make mistakes like that.Read Less

The Gresham location is the only location that I have used and I absolutely Love them..My Baby Chopper was misdiagnosed from a different vet office and I was told to take him home and say my good byes there was nothing that could be done and he was going to die! in those exact words...I had my melt down and called Banfield and they got him right in and did there test and found out that he had a bad thyroid and put him on some meds and BOOM I still have my baby and he is happy healthy and active...So yep they rock in my book!! and huge thank you to a very loving and caring group of people... Banfild is an okay place to take your pet IF YOU JUST NEED TAGS. I was working with a specific vet and he ended up leaving. So my 100 pound dog didn't like to get shots and this particulate vet was great with my dog. Handled him well. From then on I was dealing with female vets who couldn't handle my dog. I didn't appreciate them treating my dog like a mean dog for one. WELL, I took him in on several occasions because he wasn't eating right. I had a wellness plan for almost 2 years(RIP OFF!!!! I'll explain in a second). So I took my dog in (6years old) for not eating right. They said he was fine and his heart was fine, his stomach was fine and generally a good healthy dog. Well just a few months after my dogs last visit, He passed away suddenly. Turns out he had a tumor on his heart, and the pet hospital I took him to at 2am told me that not eating is a sign that he may have had a tumor... SO... I try to cancel my wellness plan a month after my dog passed. They want to charge me more money. They don't want me to cancel even though my dog is not longer with us. DON'T GO FOR THEIR WELLNESS PLAN! Just put your visits on credit and pay that way, UNLESS you have no doubt in your mind your pet will be fine. I will NEVER trust their judgement again on any pet I may get in the distant future. They miss things CLEARLY... so yeah... The only thing keeping this at a 2 is because they aren't horrible people. I'm going to give it one star for several reasons: 1. This pet hospital is inside Petsmart. Had I known that I would have never brought my pet. Petsmart is a very bad company that sells "healthy" food for your pet. Its like a McDonalds salad. Seems healthy...but no. Bad choice if you love your animal. 2. My cat has fleas and the doctor prescribed Revolution. I don't know anything about that medication so I don't want to give it to my cat without proper research on the product. I told them I wanted to try diatomaceous earth first. The vet told me "oh, that won't work". Funny, its worked on every other cat I've had that has gotten fleas and it sold in natural pet stores as a safe alternative to chemical ridden flea medications. She was incredibly pushy and kept saying things like "ill see you in two weeks to get you Revolution". Hinting over and over that my tried and true remedy will not work. On that alone, I will never be going back. So there's that. 3. My cat has a bad toe. Got injured a year ago and just now started bleeding again. This is the main reason I went to the vet. The vet then told me she doesn't know what's wrong with her foot but prescribed antibiotics. If someone is just bleeding for no reason, you figure out why first. Debbie is unbelievably amazing! She went above and beyond to help me and I am so thankful for that. I was running late after work and needed to get some flea medication for my dog, because I am leaving out of town for the next few days. I knew I wasn't going to make it by 7 so I called to get a recommendation on a brand I could by from petsmart.... Not only did she give me advice, when I finally arrived at Banfield around 7:15 she was still there and was more than willing to assist me. I tried taking my dog to other clinics but they would not see him because he is a "special" case. This clinic took time to get to know him and let him get used to them before ever greeting him. This is good because my pup has some aggression issues. They did everything in their power to make sure our visit was as stress free as possible and they do their best to keep the doctor/nurse he sees as consistent as possible, which in our case is the best thing for my furball. They are a great clinic and I will be returning to them again and again! Read Less

I cried for days! I brought my dog,Who I have had and loved since he was a puppy (7years) who at the time was very ill, to this place, spent over $1000 on him and when I wasn't able to spend more the vet was very rude and told me if i dont have the money to spend on his care, I should put him down. I left in tears crying with my dog after her blunt answer on what to do for my dog, only to have my dog recover fully the next day! if i would have put him down it would have been the biggest mistake ever, please do not bring your pet here!!! So apparently walk-ins are on a "when they feel like it" basis. I went to get my dogs their rabies shots and after getting all checked in and everything I was told the doctor wouldnt be able to see them. They were doing emergency's only. I even called in and was told I didn't need a appointment. Left my house 5mins later and drove the 3 miles to get there. Not happy and will not be going back to them. Read Less

I have been a dog lover my whole life and have used the same "family" vet for 30 years. I have learned to live with the "closed on Sundays", short Saturday hours, and doing whatever we could to make my pets comfortable when the inevitable end drew near. But they are not just "pets" to me. They are family! I love them like they are my children, and I hurt just as much when anything is wrong with them! I am looking for someone more empathetic to the issues that I may be dealing with. I want someone who is willing to look at new ways to help my pets, not just make them comfortable and wait for the "end". I am going to give these guys a try and hopefully this will be the answer to our prayers!! Read Less
