I made an appointment for my dog to get spayed and get her rabies shot. Appointments were a month out, so we had already waited 4 weeks for this procedure. When my husband tried to drop her off, the staff was very rude and told him they couldn't admit her without the rabies shot, even though they told me on the phone that it could be done on the same day as the procedure. Even though we had an appointment and were on time, there was a long wait in a crowded room with lots of people and dogs. The red headed lady at the from desk is awful. I cannot believe she still has a job, manager or not. She is not compassionate or capable or empathy at all. I don't understand why or how she maintains a job that requires her to have conversations with other humans. It is truly disturbing to look CPC up online and see so many others who have had terrible experiences with that monster, and know she still has a job there. Obviously they do not care about their customers, because there are years worth of negative reviews about a single employee, and she still works there and still subjects other people to her deplorable behavior. They diagnosed our dog with bone cancer and then apparently forgot and tried to diagnose him again when we went in to have him put to rest. They didn't even know why we were there or anything about my dog even though that's the only place he ever received care in his lifetime. Vet obviously didn't read the charts or care at all. Additionally, the red haired disgusting excuse for a human at the front desk has awful reviews personally and specifically about her all across the board. Facebook, google, yelp, so I am doing my due diligence here and making it known she is a terrible person and should not be allowed to interact with customers. Especially those who are grieving a loss. There are dozens and dozens of reviews about how awful she is. She must cost them a lot of business. Bottom line, these people do not care about you or your pets. Took my dog there for a nasty skin allergy, rabies shot and a nail trim. They were prompt in getting us in. The wait really wasn't that bad this time. Maybe 15 minutes. They were quick with their duties and gentle. It was a but confusing paying and checking out but all in all it was a good experience for my dog and me as well I'd recommend Companion Pet Clinic if you don't mind hanging around a little to get seen. The veterinarian that treated Cole is evil and should not treat animals,for over 8 months we been in here for a ongoing cough started like a gagging we thought that something was lodged in his airway we asked for xrays but she said it was due to his weight and felt it was unnessacery she said it was a pressure on his airway because he was a big dog not a word about him having a growing mass why no x rays??????? We had to put him down because he had a growing mass on his throat that this other competent doctor could feel.as soon as she saw him and she told us it's been growing for a while unfortenly it was to late he couldn't get air the mass was to big Maybe if we gotten xrays when we asked over 8 months ago it could been removed ok and he would still be with us I caution people to go with your gut if it feels wrong DON'T TRUST COMPANION PET CLINIC!!! Dr. Beverly Basham is a wonderful veterinarian, very kind and compassionate and the vet techs are all very kind, however the front office staff are very rude, they never look up to greet you or smile at you when you walk in the door, and when you do have to talk to them, they act as if you're interrupting their very busy schedule and make you feel that you are an inconvenience to them. This is not just an isolated incident, I went there for several years and I dreaded walking in the front doors because of having to face the same front office staff and they're unkind demeanor, I am on a very limited income and because the prices were lower I felt I had to go there, so I just tried to overlook it, but it got to be too much, and it's too bad that there's nothing done about it because they're causing that clinic to lose business. When I wrote this review and went back, the manager took me in the back and told me I was no longer allowed to go there. She said, I'm surprised you came back because I wouldn't want to go back to a place where people were rude to me. I don't think she put it together. Regardless I feel that I was being punished because I told the truth, the real people at fault continue to work there and hurt the doctors and the other innocent staff members by their unfriendly manners. There are a lot of people out there who are qualified to be managers and assistant managers who are very friendly, and why the owner does not replace these two ladies so they do not further harm the reputation of this Clinic, I do not know. DON'T TAKE UR PET TO HERE TO SEE DR. BASHAM.We were the only ones on the sign in sheet when we checked in. After waiting in the tiny exam room for 1/2 hr with our dog, I went out to the front desk to inquire. The older lady ignored me and pretended to be busy with something so, I just told her anyway that it was a long time to wait in that little room with a pet and that I'd right out front whenever it was our turn.A minutes later a staff member came to tell me that Dr. BASHAM was overloaded today( no one waiting in lobby and only me on sign in sheet?) and that because I complained about the wait( it was just the comment I mentioned above and I was not rude) the Dr. REFUSED to treat our dog! If you want to go to a Companion pet clinic I recommend COMPANION PET ON 82ND INSTEAD.The staff was friendly and very mindful and considerate of our time and very efficient. They communicated with us periodically while we waited to be seen and we were in and out within a reasonable amount of time. Read Less

I have made two trips to this companion pet clinic. The first was for my first cat's spay surgery. They didn't acknowledge me when I walked through the door. Only after several months did they tell me to sign in. They had given me little to no instruction on what to expect for the day of the procedure. I had to ask questions to get info out of them. Good customer service is acknowledging customers even if you can't help them in the moment and when helping them, anticipating questions and giving them all the information you can. Not waiting for them to ask questions. The second visit I brought in both cats. One to have surgery sutures removed and the other for first checkup and shots. They are walk-ins only. I got there at 9:45 and wasn't put in a room until 10:10, I then waited in the room for the Vet for another 15 minutes. The Vet did a a good job diagnosing and helping animals but then did. It give clear instructions on what to do once I got back to the lobby. And the ladies at reception once again didn't acknowledge me or help me. I waited for another 40 minutes to get the medication and to be wrung up. I will not be back to this clinic.Read Less

I took my puppy to this vet today to get fixed, but the 2 older woman at the front desk were so rude that I left. They were yelling at the man in front of me that was having a hard time filling out his paperwork and they were rude to a man who just had to put his dog down. I couldn't believe what was coming out of their mouths and that it was aimed at their customers. When it was my turn the lady snapped at me so I left. I really appreciate companion pet clinic. It certainly isn't flashy, and the front desk workers have a pretty down-to-business aura which doesn't bother me at all. I find that they are knowledgeable, and that's more important to me than a perky disposition. The vet techs and vets are favorites with my animals and I have no problem getting my dog and anti-social cat to go see the Companian pet clinic staff. The only thing I would say is that I've often received different advice from the vets - on things like when to spay my dog - than what the Clinic says is its protocol, which is a bit confusing. But ultimately I like their services and prices and while the front desk might not be everyone's cup of tea, the vets and techs do their jobs admirably. Read Less

RUDE RUDE RUDE. Been going to this vet for years with all of my animals and the experiences have been up and down, but not enough to stop going. Took my tiny chihuahua who has a cyst in to see the vet on Friday and he gave me meds for the weekend and asked me to call back Monday morning to schedule surgery if it didn't get better. Called first thing Monday morning and was treated incredibly rudely (this is the dumpy middle aged gravel-voiced woman with glasses, totally recognized her voice). She told me to call back in an hour because they were too busy. Explained to her the vet told me to call Monday morning for a surgery appt. She said, and I quote, "NOPE, WE ARE BOOKED." I said it again that the vet told me and she said "NO - WE ARE BOOKED!" I asked to talk to the vet and got hung up on. I am done. They have lost my business forever. 12-Mile Vet is getting my business now. They treated me very nicely on the phone and my coworkers highly recommend them. Read Less

My girl had an ear infection and I called first thing Monday morning and was able to get a walk in visit right away. They cleaned and put medicine in her ear. We have had nothing but fantastic care for our pets here. We had our dog neutered there with an online coupon, and he came out wagging his tail and happy as can be with no complications. The staff can be short at times, especially when it's busy. However, they always treat my pets like a priority once we get into the exam room. They will listen to and address all of our concerns. My priority is my pet when I'm at the vet...I don't know about you... We had taken our dog to a different vet for awhile that was closer to our home. Our dog has severe allergies and luxating patellas. He was literally miserable and crying from his allergies. His knees weren't the biggest problem, yet they kept insisting that he needed both knees done at a cost of over $4000. We went back to Companion and they immediately addressed his allergies that were making him miserable. We tried several different treatments and found one that worked for him. As for his knees, until they become painful for him, several vets (and lots of research) suggested that waiting would be the best. Wouldn't authorize my refill for Revolution Flea and Tick medication, because they want me to pay for another physical exam, which I already paid for the first time i bought the medication. oct 7 2015. The Doctor was really nice Dr.Basham. She talk to me before her teeth cleaning and showed me how much it cost. I knew it was going to be high. I asked her about allergies. I asked if she could give me information later. When I picked my dog up she had the information all ready for me. The guy that does the cleaning is really niece and you can ask him questions and he had the answeres. He is friendly and that's niece. I didn't give 5 stars because I called and Monday left a message on the phone and no one called me back. We've been before many years ago. Despite being told our dog had cancer the staff was loving and compassionate and loved our pitbull. We could hear the fun they had with him in the back despite the struggle. In this case you could tell it wasnt about money with this vet. She clearly had compassion. Told us it was cancer to go home and let nature take its course. That paying thousands and not knowing if it would save him being where the cancer was.  2 weeks later he was suffering and took a turn for the worse. This was back in 09. That dog passed away from the cancer. With the new pitbull. In the few times I've been in the front desk staff hasn't always been very friendly. Today I walked in and wasn't higreated by the front desk but jenn said hello and started conversation about how beautiful my dog was. Then the staff finally greeted me. I was taken back right away and the process went very quickly. (Not in the past) I was very pleased with Jenn and her caring, compassion towards our dog. She is above and beyond in my opinion and hard to find. They are lucky to have her. The Vet was a little jumpy so to say walking in with a 71lb pitbull which he's just a big baby.  He said "this went better than expected" another comment "he's better than I thought he would be" I didn't know to be offended or thank him. DO NOT GO HERE PLEASE, THIS PLACE KILLED MY DOG. I took my dog here for dental work on Wednesday this week, they called a few hours later to let me know that he was fine and then 20 minutes later the "DR" called me again to let me know that my dog passed. This is very devastating for me, I lost part of me because of these people, they are coldhearted and rude. According to them my dog had a heart failure while they were doing the dental work. I think they overdosed him with anesthesia and killed him. This place will be in my head forever, they not only took part of me but put me on a horrible depression. IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMAL UNCONDITIONALLY JUST LIKE I LOVED MINE, DO NOT GO HERE PLEASE. I REGRET IT SO MUCH AND FEEL SO GUILTY FOR THAT BAD DECISION ON GOING HERE. I've made 4 trips in there with my pet and only 1 of the 3 different women who checked me in was friendly. The women vet was nice and informative but the male vet was odd, not informative and a little rude. My dog did well so I assume the care was good. You can elect to have some extra things done rices are listed right there nothing deceiving about this you can elect not to have the extra things and your animal will have the service you pay for. Really disappointed. I am sorry to report my experience was poor. I asked on the phone for specific details on price and services, and even again in person immediately prior to my appointment, and yet was still presented with a bill TRIPLE the amount TWICE quoted. The front desk explained that it was my fault for not asking the vet directly for the cost of each conversation and detail during the exam. There was not a bit of kindness, friendliness, or compassion at any point during my interactions with the front desk staff, and they were distinctly uneducated regarding the services provided to the extent that I was given incorrect information that could potentially endanger my dog. Only upon extreme pressing was I able to get proper recommendations from the vet on staff. The vet & vet tech were fine, average is really the word. I would advise other pet owners to steer clear. The prices are appealing but the reality is this place will promise one thing and then fail to maintain their word. I only got routine vaccines for my pet and shiver at the idea of trusting such a shady place for anything more extensive. Like the first review, this place is horrible. They have the WORST customer service! I called to make an appointment and was put on hold for 15 minutes getting passed back and forth between people. I had to call back three times before I was able to get on the schedule. When they were asked to explain charges, they sent me in the back to talk with the vet. The vet in turn told me that the services were done and to just pay. THAT'S NOT WHAT I WAS ASKING FOR!!! I was not disputing the bill, I was just asking for an explanation of the services that was done. Terrible overall experience. Will never go back and will tell everyone I know how bad this dump is. Terrible service. We had an 8 am appointment, arrived as they unlocked the door and were told we were late. The receptionist took dog walk-ins before us and was told it was because they paid more, and was annoyed and rude the entire time she was working with us. We were then told there was an extravagent extra charge for IV fluids and pain meds and had to sign a waiver to release them from liability if the kitty died from dyhydration.
