The older my dog gets the more anxious he is in public places, but he seems to really like this clinic and I have liked the doctors & all of the staff members. The clinic always runs on time, and you're not left waiting in the exam room for long periods of time. Everyone is very friendly and you can tell that they enjoy their jobs. Such a loving and compassionate group of staff and doctors. They handle the food and check ups for our three cats and were so wonderful when we had to put a sick kitty down. never taking my dogs here again. The doctor that help us out last time we were there was rude. We called and made an appointment and they said to get the dog in right away just to tell us that my dog needed to go the the emergency hospital and charge me anyway. All he did was check my dogs heartbeat, lungs, and told us that he can't help her that we have to go to the hospital. First of all he already had an idea on what my dog has so was did he not just send us straight to the emergency hospital. Second why did they schedule us at 6pm when they know that they aren't gonna be able to help her anyway and on top of that he charged us for the exam. I'm very frustrated at this place. We love this animal hospital! We've been bringing our pets here for 13 years. Their services include the traditional veterinary medicine and wholistic medicine. I have been here twice, my old vet Dr Hughes merged in with them. The staff seems very nice. They are very conscious of using the safest medications for animals. They take care to be as safe as they can regarding injection site sarcomas in cats. They need to explore the information about doing rabies vacations in the cats tail. This is being used now in case a sarcoma does occur and amputation is necessary for clean margins. If there are no negatives to a tail injection, they should be doing it. Read Less

I have gone to Dogwood for many years. The staff is great and the vets are knowledgeable and caring. They use a combination of holistic and traditional medicine. I have had 2 cats over the years who were each given almost 3 years of quality life by these vets when an 'expert' gave up.I don't believe the lady in the 2010 review ever talked to the doctors about the problem she talks about--I have found them to be fair and concerned about the animals and their owners. Dogwood Pet Hospital is simply amazing. I've NEVER had one bad experience with either Dr Klau or Dr Hawkins. The entire staff for that matter is incredible. The moment you walk in you know you're in good hands. My english bulldog, Charlie, recently had emergency surgery that had to be performed at a different hospital due to the timing of the incident. Dr Klau found out about his surgery and immediately called me to make sure that everything was okay. He was genuinely concerned and it was so thoughtful for him to call . He made sure that I knew he was available if we needed anything at all. It was awesome. Since the surgery he's called to see how Charlie is recovering and I can't tell you how awesome that makes us feel. Everyone at Dogwood, and I mean everyone, is incredible and I would recommend them to anybody. You're in great hands at this place. Read Less

Last night while I was at a school function for my daughter one of the DW staff called me to say a good Samaritan found my dog and dropped him off! Thank you to whoever found max! I went here for the first time today for a pair of rescues that I had just gotten a few days prior. The staff were really very nice and Dr. Klau, I felt, was very personable and professional and I didn't feel rushed at all. I didn't feel like they tried to sell me on anything as well. Have brought our (my girlfriend's, that is) Shihtzu girl here for a few years. Would say the care is for the most part fine. the physicals have been mostly thorough, with the exception of a few times when her ears and teeth were not checked....something we consider important. The doctors we've seen are friendly. Receptionists- a bit hit or miss on courtesy. About the only negative I would comment on, was their recommendation of a home groomer, Bow Wow Happy. The groom was easily the worst paid for from an aesthetic standpoint, but worse was seeing her shake for days after. After a good look over, we noticed two of her toe pads and the side of her face had been cut. And we weren't informed about it. It's evident this person didn't know what they were doing, or hadn't been doing it long. This clinic really needs to exercise some caution when recommending pet related services to their customers. We took our dog to Dogwood and he was misdiagnosed. They did skin scrapings and sent us home with a toxic-not holistic antibiotic. He continued to suffer until we took him to a dermatologist who CORRECTLY diagnosed mange. Our dog suffered because of the misdiagnoses and we had to pay almost $400.00 for the privilege. The mange should have been caught by the scraping and our dog would have been on the road to recovery. No stars for Dogwood, too bad I have to give the one. Read Less
