We called the emergency line multiple times and spoke to Dr. Chris. Our lab had eaten too much food like many labs do, and instead of paying $1000’s of dollars and driving 45 minutes to the closest pet hospital, Dr Chris walked us through steps to make sure our girl was ok and wasn’t in need of urgent care. After moving to Oregon from Florida, I was eager to find an animal hospital and a vet for my Cocker Spaniel. Wally is a terrible patient and I was nervous about finding the right fit. Visiting area traveling in a Motorhome. Our 7yo cocker spaniel (Gaylord) needed his annual check up and shots. Made an appointment and received an estimate for the visit. When we arrived, the staff were friendly and extremely efficient. They had contacted our vet back home (Florida), had all our pets medical history and confirmed what was needed for this visit. Front desk staff are as warm and cuddly as vipers. Took Mother-in-law there for a recheck on her pooch with an infected wound, which should have had the area around it clipped and cleaned the first time. They of course clipped and cleaned the area this time (after it had become more infected than it initially was) but only after we told Mother-in-law to tell them to. Read Less

Their doctors are wonderful. I took my cat in to make sure she did not have a respiratory infection. Dr. Auvergne was so quiet and gentle with my cat, my cat did not get scared at all. Dr. Zuver determined that bit was most likely rial and gave me the option of preemptively treating it with antibiotics, but said since she felt I would be someone who would watch my kitty, she would recommend I would wait and see. If I needed the antibiotics, I could then come in without the cat and simply pick them up. All the doctors are great here! Read Less

I brought my dog in to have his stitches removed she took some stiches out too early and then after we got home i gave hime a bath and the majority of the stitches she left in there on the mane wound. Have a 10yr old miniature pinscher with heart disease. So bad he needs abdomen drained every 4-5 weeks. My boy shows no sign of giving up. Can't put him down with that much will to keep living. I go in again for his 5th drain and each time he had to go under for surgery. Most stories I've read dogs don't make it this long. 5 months now and has been on lasix and vetmedin. I have appointment this coming Thursday but worried he needs to get in sooner. It's Monday and I just rescheduled for Wednesday. Problem is Dr Chris not in until late Wednesday. Staff called me back to let me know Dr Chris will come in early for my boy. When it's serious Dr Chris does not make you wait. What a blessing Gresham Animal Hospital has been. I never write reviews but I have to about these guys! My dog has been to the vet 8 times in 4 months. 3 different places. Today we took our pup here and our experience was the best so far! The office staff was so nice and got her in right away. And when I told them that we have already put a ton of money into her vet bills and that we couldn't do much more they were very caring and understanding. When Dr. Chris called me to tell me how she was doing he was very thorough and made sure all my questions were answered. This will be our vet from now on. I called today to set up an appointment to have my puppy seen and find out the initial first visit fee and the cost of the shots she would need. First off I was put on hold three times during the call to this office, whoever it was that took my call really needs to work on her phone etiquette. She says UM after just about every word. She had me repeat my personal information multiple times while trying to enter me into the system. She actually couldn't add me for some reason and put me on hold only to have the phone start ringing and she answers like it's a new call "I must have been hung up on at this point" so as you could tell at this point I was starting to get a little annoyed after being on the phone for so long to get a fairly simple questions answered. I finally asked if she could just forget entering me into the system and just give me the price of a first time visit and the prices of the shots, said she couldn't give me the prices without having me in the system? Yet she couldn't enter me into it.. at this point I told her to have a nice day and hung up only to call the next veterinarian near me, who I set up an appointment with in less than five minutes. I would have loved to see this vet but your secretary lost my business before I even had a chance to walk through the doors with the way she handled my call. Read Less

I went to the BEST animal hospital today because of Yelp!   My Bassett Ella needed to get her eye checked and decided to give Gresham Animal Hospital a try.  Was I glad I did!  I can't say enough positive things about this place!  I felt from the time I walked in the door, my questions were important and the receptionist took the time to answer all of them.  (She put phone on hold until our business was completed. )  How refreshing! My appointment was setup with Katherine Tompkins DVM.  As I discussed Ella's options with Dr Katherine, I knew Ella was getting the best care she could receive.  She was very thorough in her examination and I was given a complete low to high cost range for procedure.  Being a new client, I wondered how close they would try to keep costs low, but I was so impressed with the hospital,  I decided to have it done..  Another Plus!  Costs stayed at lowest end and my Ella looks good as new!I love this place!  I want to work there!(Thanks for the toenails!) I recently went to see Dr. Chris at the suggestion of my best friend. My Rico was very ill and while I unfortunately had to let him go, Dr. Chris truly helped me with providing options and heartfelt, yet direct information. But more importantly, he helped Rico transition to where he is no longer suffering and helped me with making that hard decision. Dr. Chris went out of his way to see Rico the first time and the next day he had us come in when he was already booked with surgeries. He was very accommodating. I've only been to this place once and I will NEVER return. Brought my dog in because he took a rib bone off the table and was choking and vomiting. My first impression was wow this place is really nice. The receptionist looked like a punk kid that didn't give a damn. The wait was short. The Dr. was nice. She said she had other doctors look at the X-Rays to make sure they weren't missing anything, which I though was great. This place is also way expensive. The next day my dog was still choking and vomiting. She said "Oh it's probably just acid reflex give him some pepto bismol for a couple days. Finally with no change I took him to Banfield. All they did was look down his throat and barely notice something white like a bone stuck in his throat. They sedate him and confirm a 1/2 in bone. So instead of just assuming what the problem was. Banfield made sure to look at the whole picture. You would think that would be the first thing a vet does is look down the throat. Banfield then referred us to Dove Lewis and provided us with directions and an option for Care Credit. The next day after surgery, Banfield called back to see how my pup was doing. I have been going here for almost 6 years and the staff and doctors are really wonderful. They are very caring, careful and efficient and my two dogs love the staff in turn. The facility is really clean, warm and doesn't smell. They have flexible hours and I can almost always get a last-minute appointment. You have permanently lost my business. Last Saturday my dog, Dot, was having trouble breathing so I called the office around 5:40 pm - 5:45 pm. No one picked up. This was after checking online for your hours (non was listed) then Facebook where it states you were closed at 6 pm. I rush her to the office hoping to catch someone as you are our regular vet. Got there exactly 6pm. No lights and no cars in the parking lot. I call again for the emergency extension. It hung up on me 3 times with absolutely no information given!! I then Google nearby vets and realized Banfield Pet Hospital in PetSmart a few blocks away was still open. When they realized it was her breathing we were seen immediately. They took great care of us and recommended taking her to the ER at VCA Animal Hospital in Clackamas since she needed oxygen and was in possible heart failure and they were not equipped with what she needed (oxygen, overnight observation, and an echocardiogram). Not only did he not charge me, he also contacted VCA to tell them to expect us, faxed over and printed out his diagnosis for me to bring to them just in case, and printed me out directions on how to get there. All this in under half an hour time. Banfield even called to check up on her the next day and asked for updates. Since then I've had to bring her to the ER 2 more times plus a visit with a cardiologist, each time asking them to fax over her information after each visit to Gresham Animal Hospital. I have yet to hear from anyone at your office and it's been over a week. I have never seen such lack of care from so-called vets for their own patient. I am currently looking for a new vet since clearly mine could care less.Read Less

They were very supportive and caring throughout the stressful time before, during and after the surgery. I've been coming to this clinic with various pets for at least 8 years. Everyone here is very nice, always happy to see you and care deeply. All the vets are very good and I especially love Dr. Chris. I have various pets and one very high maintenance dog with many health issues. I've never been disappointed, always been listened to and treated my pets especially well. The clinic staff is very professional and knowledgeable but at the same time warm and welcoming.
