Excellent care for our dog. Dr Juvenile cares deeply, communicates often, and gave great care to our dog with urinary tract blockage. Dr. Juvenile went above and beyond to get our dog the care she needed, checking in with us afterwards to ensure our dog was doing well. Be aware overnight are is expensive; however, the care and attention is amazing and top rate at this veterinary hospital. Dr. Feliciano is the hardest working, most understanding Dr. of any kind I've ever worked with. Our family cat "Oatmeal" came down with a 100% fatal disease, and while she was very honest about the prognosis, she spent her personal time beating down every door she could to see if we could get her into a research trial, as there has been an experimental drug that showed promise. Ultimately, our race against the clock ended with Oatmeal not making it, and the pharmaceutical company who made the compound didn't have any more of the supply. One of the few good memories of this ordeal is that our Dr. was fighting the fight with us. Had we not received that kind of care, we'd wonder for years if something more could have been done. This clinic is BY FAR the best vet hospital in Portland. We've been to banfield in the past and you don't even want to know the nightmares we've had with them. Unfortunately in the past month we've had to put down our 14 year old dog and 16 year old cat but the staff here is incredible. Dr. Doolan is the vet we always request and she is just THE BEST. She is SO compassionate and caring like it's her own animal. When it was "the time" they had a special private room for us to cry in with comfy chairs and soothing music and it made a sad time a little bit easier. The thing that really makes this place special is a couple days later after putting down our dog we received at our front door flowers, a paw print and a handwritten card with kind words about our sweet Otis. Took my cat to Parkway since my normal vet is M-F and she needed a diagnosis over the weekend of what was wrong with her. A previous review says the prices are "steep", could not agree more. Charged me a "deposit" of the highest estimate, who does that? Then took 20 min. literally to refund my $350 they over charged me. For the price they charged me with no real diagnosis or x rays, my vet did an ultrasound, xrays and medications. I am glad they were there to keep her alive over the weekend, but the prices here are the highest of any vet I have ever been too and I have owned 6 cats over the years. I will never go back. I love bringing my dogs here. All the doctors are very trusting, honest, and you feel comfortable talking to them. There has been many occasions I needed to make a same day apt and they always squeeze me in which I really appreciate. They also do followup calls to see how your pup is doing. I have to write a review after one of my worst days, yesterday.  We had the misfortune of having to send our beautiful 6 year old German Shepherd Samantha to doggy heaven.  Samantha was a bit challenging in that she was always quite "assertive" toward those she didn't know.  The staff at Parkway, especially Dr. Haley and Tim, were incredibly caring and understanding with her unique challenges of needing to be sedated for exams.  They never judged or made us feel like an inconvenience, which always relieved the stress of bringing her in.Over the past 4 weeks Sam had a steadily worsening limp.  Given her challenges of needing to be sedated we decided to use video as a substitute for a more thorough evaluation.  Unfortunately we waited to long to bring her in to Parkway and have her properly evaluated.  By the time we got her in she was already in total misery.  Cancer had already spread throughout her body and by then there was not a good solution to prolong her life.  By then she had stopped eating and she was in constant pain.  We made the very difficult decision to put her to rest.  It will be a while before the guilt of delaying her evaluation will fade. If you are reading this, DON'T WAIT if you are concerned about an usual condition with your pet.I can't thank Dr. Haley, Tim and Ashley enough for their true compassion and caring through on of the worst days of our lives.  I think they were almost as upset as we were of Sam's outcome. It is hard to adequately express my gratitude to the staff here. We have had the misfortune of euthanizing two animals here in the past month. The staff has been so sympathetic, putting us up in a special, very nicely appointed room to say goodbye to our critters. We received very heartfelt service as we've made difficult decisions as well as compassionate after care in the form of cards from the staff. This is an incredible vet clinic. Prior to coming here, we had been going to Banfield in nearby Petsmart stores. They were fine, but I always felt like they were pressuring me to get unnecessary tests run that ended up being really expensive. I never felt fully satisfied, so decided to see if there was a better fit out there.I ended up coming to Parkway a few years ago when one of my cats burnt his paw by walking across our still warm stove top. We went first to the Emergency Vet in Tualatin (where they acted like my cat was terrible and was trying to kill them all) and were told to follow up at a regular vet. I picked Parkway mostly due to proximity, but had read some good reviews. My first visit at Parkway and the doctor we met with went on and on about how lovely my cat was- and it felt completely sincere. What a difference already! And surprisingly, the office visit was less than Banfield. So far, so good!Our other cat was the one who ended up needing to be seen often, due to thyroid issues. They took good care of her, and every vet we met with was very nice and you could see truly cared about animals. As she was nearing the end of her life, they offered, but did not pressure or shame us into doing needless tests and x-rays on an ailing, senior kitty. After our visits, the doctors would call to see how she was doing. I really appreciated that personal service.Finally, it was time for us to put our cat down. It was a very sad time, but Parkway was so compassionate and caring about it. Even though they must do this all the time, they did not treat us as one of many. They had a warm, cozy, private room just for this purpose (not a vet room, but like a little living room). They gave us as much time as we needed to cry and say goodbye to our cat. It was a hard day, but they made it better.A few days after our cat had been put down, we received a hand written condolence card. It wasn't just signed, but they had taken the time to fill the card and write nice things about our cat. It was so remarkable and above and beyond anything I have experienced at a vet before. This clinic was absolutely outstanding in caring for my kitty Miso; from the front desk, techs, Dr. Mel, Dr. Gregg, and Dr. Henwood at LOVE, their after hour emergency.  He experienced liver toxicity from a Sentry shampoo and was having neurological issues and couldn't use his legs well. Everyone reacted right away running tests and getting him on a treatment schedule asap. I knew he was in good hands his entire stay. They paid attention to his behavior and were able to ask me specific questions about him based on their close observation.  The front desk, doctors and emergency team took every one of my many phone calls with time and compassion and made me feel like Miso was their only patient.  He is home now but still under their care while he recovers. I truly believe they saved his life and their compassion saved me from going crazy in fear of losing him.  I am so grateful for this clinic! Read Less

Taking our pets to Parkway Vet has definitely been the best experience we've ever had with a comprehensive vet hospital. We were referred to them after my dog was treated for bloat by an emergency clinic a couple of years ago. I couldn't believe how kind people were and how well they took care of our Shepherd. Again, I called this morning in a panic about our aging dog and was seen by 8:20 by a kind, knowledgable and compassion team that took excellent care of my dog. Parkway and Dr. Tanner are the best ever! We have taken all of our animals there and they always give the best! From having our regular checks ups, have two knee replacements and having to put one dog down. The love and support they give is over the top and you know they truly care about your animal and your family. They just get it. They almost killed my dog.  very negligent!  I I paid for the Lap Spay which is apparently a low invasive spay with a 3 day recovery.  She had a cone on her head for 6 weeks and continued problems for over 3 months. They treated me like I was crazy (I am a sales engineer - I am smart socially and intellectually)  I was not crazy - my dog got very sick.  I took her in to get checked for the thrid time, the vet lifted her front paws, barely even looked at her incision and said it was normal and sent me home.  Her wound got infected from the inside.  A week later I went back and to my horror, they had to reopen her and basically redo everything.  that was after 3 weeks and 2 prior 'cleanouts.'  They claim to have a clean strile environment.  I have friends who are surgeons who say the only way sutures get infected is if they get dirty in the operating room.  Very Very displeased.  Horrible customer service.  When I suggested they give me a refund, they defended that they removed the ovaries, which is the service I was paying them for and therefore, no refund was warranted.  You have got to be kidding me.  I spent over $800 in hopes of keeping my cute puppy happy and short down time.  I should have done a standard spay at a cheap vet and would have been better off.I drove an hour accross town to take her there.  Researched vets for weeks to decide which to go to.  dont be fooled by their location or seemingly helpful staff.  When things go wrong, they walk away.  Not to mention how unprofessional it is to have a dirty surgical area.  I regret my decision to go there.  I was so sad to see my happy puppy look at me and wonder why she could no longer play.  not to mention it ruined my entire summer to take her on fun hikes.  I hope this helps at least 1 other dog from that pain.  at the very least, they could have taken the situation more seriously. I have been going here for over 15 years, and everyone is so amazing....Originally I brought my cats, then my dog when I got him. Every step of the way, starting with the front office staff, the techs, and especially all the vets have been professional, kind, and always go the extra mile for us. I even use the groomer who is excellent, have used the Emergency services and the Rehab recently, and all have exceeded my expectations. I always feel like everyone cares about me and my pet, and that we are important. My favorite is Dr Trerise, with his great sense of humor, who has helped us over the years with a number of very difficult situations. Our lab started limping, so I called the hospital a few minutes to 8:00 (closing time). They said that all of the vets were in surgery because of the three animal emergencies that came in earlier that evening. They took my information and said that it was unlikely that any of the vets would be able to call that night but that someone would call the next morning. I took my 13 year old poodle in to Dr moffenbeier for a routine exam. I thought he was just getting older and slowing down. She diagnosed kidney disease. She explained things very well. I had to make the sad decision to let my 21-year-old cat go. I knew the time would come, but it was on a Sunday that he became ill and I was so grateful to find a clinic that could help. Everyone was so kind. I was not rushed and the whole process was professional and extremely caring. Then they followed up with a card containing personal messages from the people I saw which made me sad but was so very thoughtful. My "kids" and I are new to Lake Oswego and I asked for recommendations before moving.  One of the vets in the practice I'd been taking my dogs to asked a colleague to suggest someone in my new neighborhood and this man (a vet specializing in internal medicine) said EVERYONE at Parkway is excellent.  Experience has proved his assessment to be 100% right on.  The front desk staff is friendly, the doctors clearly love animals and are very approachable, and the facility is beautiful.  They will soon be opening an emergency service which is WONDERFUL, because the others in the Portland area are still a major shlep from where we live. Had another wonderful experience here this week when my little dog, Emily, had to have a mass removed. The staff and Dr. Todd were all fantastic, and Emily did great while in their care. They even created an adorable Bravery certificate for her for being so good on her big day! While it may seem small, it was really special for us. Emily recovered very well, better than from any other procedure in the past, and her incision looks great, albeit ouchy! Every experience I have had here has been excellent, from the reception staff to the techs to the kennel to the doctors to the manager, we are treated with kindness, compassion, and genuine care every time. I have been in the field for 20 years and am very cautious about who I trust my pet to; I CHOOSE to bring my pup here because I know she will receive the best possible care from an amazing team.Read Less

I have been here several times now, and have had nothing but amazing experiences. Dr. Miele, Dr. Trerise, and Dr. Todd are amazing, and they seem to love my cattle dog (but who wouldn't love her?). Emily (my dog) doesn't like vets, but falls asleep in the exam room, and has no problem following them to the treatment room. Their staff is great, smart, and take their time to make sure I feel comfortable, as well as Emily. I have been in the veterinary field for 20 years, and am extremely picky about where I take my dog. The customer services of this place goes from bad to worse!  Dr. Williams is AMAZING, but after the front office staff inputting my personal information under another person's name, not communicating between the admin desk and the vet staff (so you don't get the right info about your pet), no communication between the admin and the doctors themselves about procedure info, and not receiving a call back after leaving a message (two weeks and counting) is terrible!   I love the way Dr. Williams was with my dog - but I cannot even get a call back???  This place came highly recommended, but after such customer service DISASTERS I'm going elsewhere.  I know they did a lot of hiring and changing around of office staff - the result - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Parkway Vet is wonderful.  They've cared for my cats for 12 years.  Great care, good prices, and I've never met any worker or vet who didn't clearly love animals.  They explain treatment options thoroughly, helping me to choose the right care for my pets.  They make it easy for me to pre-authorize treatment for my animals when I go on vacation.  And when I had to learn how to give my sick cat subcutaneous fluid injections, their technicians gave me the training and encouragement I needed to care for my cat with confidence.  Very respectful, both of people and animals.  There are vet clinics much closer to my home, but I'd rather travel to Parkway.  Wouldn't dream of changing my vet. Soon after checking in you are escorted into an exam room. The doctor, in my experiences, comes in within about 5 minutes. This never happens in human medicine.
