First off fame he is a great vet. My family has gone to him for years(well over 20 years). He has taken great care of all of our animals. From cats to dogs all the way up to our horses. I'm pretty sure he is not accepting new pets because he has to be getting close to retiring. I also believe he's the only vet for this clinic. I love his straight forward additude and honesty. I have never received false hope from him and I appreciate that. Hands down best around. Read Less

I had my first and last interaction with this crabby, at best, vet. My experience was very similar to a lot of these complaints. Rude, arrogant, condescending! I have never, EVER encountered a single person who works at a vet to be such a miserable person. In fact, I have had absolutely positive experiences everywhere I have gone. Except here. I was trying to help my mom find a good vet, close to her home, for her new dog. This guy is NOT it. Avoid! Read Less

My family has taken our pets here for 28 years. We moved from the area to SW Portland, and are still driving down to Molalla to see Dr. Fammatre. With only two people in the clinic, yes, they can be a little abrupt on the phone. But they're also incredibly compassionate, and always put the animal first. We could not be happier with the care he's given our critters! Read Less

I have been using Dr. Fammatre for over 15 yrs. you cannot find a more honest or caring vet. When my daughters horse was injured I called and emergency vet that came out. They said they wanted to come back again tomorrow to see if they could stitch any more up. That emergency vet came out again charged me again for another emergency call and said no we can't stitch up anymore.I then called Dr. Fammatre he came out to take a look and said after 24 hours you cannot stitch up anything. My horses leg needed Close attention to make sure she didn't get proud flesh. Dr.Fammatre came out after work every night and refused to charge me to check on my horse he would say he was on his way home anyway. This is the kind of person he is.His receptionist Becky is also a wonderful person and very knowledgeable in her own right. This is the best country vet. He treats all animals from cows horses sheep and pigs to dogs and cats. The only downside is he is not accepting new patients. As you can tell he is not in it for the money he is in it for the people and their animals. Read Less

This has been our vet of choice for over ten years. I have always been pleased with the care this clinic has given my many animals and the price cannot be beat. I have taken my seriously ill dog in as an emergency and he was treated quickly, affordably and accurately. My dog survived thanks to the care of this place. All my pets go here. We had 2 dogs and 4 cats. Just before christmas our oldest dog became ill and we had to put him down. This was an extremely sad time for me and my family but this clinic was so kind and gentle with us and our beloved dog right until the end. Dr. Fammatre is as good as they get. --- see that? Β It's a period.ANY negative reviews you will hear about, are from people who heard great things about him, but were unable to get on his patient list.... Or from people who sought to have some cute 16 year old girl whimper like cute, empathetic girls do, when she hears about a pet's suffering.Dr Fammatre spends the majority of his time with his arm up a Horse's. or Cow's ass. He's an old-school vet, but boy does he know his practice. He's an absolute gem.If not for Dr. Fammatre, a few of my pets may have died. When one (if they're lucky enough) goes to Dr. Fammatre with a dog, like me, Dr. Fammatre has YOU go in too, because he understands the dog knows and trusts YOU. For someone like me, with a German Shepherd breed, that's SO GREAT.My dog would need a great deal of restraint, if I were not there. But when I am there, being as he trusts me, thre treatment is easy, and not traumatic to my dog, Buckshot.Seriously, I could care less about some minimum-wage teenie-booper making ME feel better. Dr. Fammatre is all about the animal, and he understands them.He doesn't rip you off. He KNOWS animals, and well... So far as I say, he's the best vet I've ever come across.Thing is, he's only ONE guy. His office manager, is one lady. That's why they're so affordable, but then again, he is very limited when it comes to taking new PT.s/Families.I was Lucky.... My family got in early, right as Molalla became larger back in the late 90's.He does NOT take on new families often. This is so he can maintain his high quality of care. He's nt about getting rich. He truly loves animals. If I were to guess, I'd say more than he does people.... Then again, who doesn't?As I said, he's just one man, and he owns his land. For those of us blessed enough to have our best friends as his patients, we love him like family.... He really rocks. He's the best Vet I've ever met.To a human, his office may seem impersonal, but from the animal's standpoint, he's a saint. He's there for them, not you. He doesn't scare them or cater to YOU, while making THEM nervous. He gets stuff done before they even know what's happening. That's best for the animals, who tend to be confused & scared at Vet offices as it is.I can't recommend him any more than I do.He's top-notch. He's kept my familie's dogs alive for as long as you've ever heard of (Like Sox, my folks's 17 year old 120 lb dog) and he saved my cat's (Kitty's) life for $160.00, which included a week of in-patient kitty-catheritization, and a big bag of Vet-cat-food PLUS a whole case of Vet-approved Unirany tract wet food. Seriously, he's unbelievable.Only drawback, is that because he limits his PT. load, most reading this will not be able to get their best friends in as his patients.Keep trying though.Once you get in, you're in.And as I said, Dr. Fammatre is as good as they get, and then some.
