My family and I have used this vet for many years and have loved them. Up until the last year or so I have enjoyed my experience but their new staff is slow and bipolar. I never know what I am getting with them. They don't even look at me when they speak to me and they don't even greet me. Due to my dogs health I am a frequent visitor so I know it's not just them having a bad day. Feel bad for the vet because it's just the girls at front. Considering switching vets I'm so over it. We've had our family dog there for various things including boarding. My folks also take their dog there for different things. Always excellent, caring service. Highly recommend Newberg Family Pet Clinic. Today I found a badly injured lost dog in my driveway. The poor thing couldn't move and was laying there in the horrible weather. I called Family Pet Clinic who was completely empathetic toward the situation and was determined to help me. They really stepped up and went above and beyond! We have used this clinic for our dogs for a few years now and between regular vaccine visits , emergencies to maintaining allergies and love them. We are happy to be seen by any of the vets on staff and LOVE the front desk gals. Their front desk manager has helped us problem solve and work with our last min needs on numerous occasions and I have never left or got off the phone feeling as if my pets needs we not met. STAFF IS TOO ROUGH!! My puppy yiped as they unsuccessfully attempted to flip my pup onto her back. They were rough and hurt her ankle in the process. Some staff seemed friendly. Others seemed condescending and didn't bother to ask what I've done for my pet so far. Biggest concern would be they can't even flip a dog onto tveir back witg out causing pain. I had a shoulder surgery and can easily flip my pup with no pain. Read Less

The vets here are knowledgeable, caring, and kind. When my 4 month old kitten got scentsy wax splashed in his eye, they got me in to see the vet within 20 minutes of my call,  and took excellent care to get his eye cleaned out safely, make sure there would be no permanent damage, and gave me two products to use with him at home to ensure a complete and fast recovery. I will take any pet I get here in the future, they really care about each patient like they are a loved pet and not a problem. Read Less

Dr. Dan is simply fantastic. Down to earth, practical, and 100% for the pet's comfort above all. In the over ten years we have been going there, he has turned into a wonderful person on top of being a top shelf Veterinarian. He's hands on, gentle, respectful, and even the tragedy of putting down a few of our animals over the years he has been a comfort through. Our kitten broke a front leg. These guys set it and put a cast on it. The day the cast was supposed to be removed, we dropped off our cat which was perfectly healthy. We received a call from these guys that our cat was dead and we had to pay for the cast removal and for the body disposal. Need I say what I think about this so called professional animal hospital. Dr. Dan took amazing care of my Beagle when my other dog almost killed her at 6:00 on a Friday night. Everyone was compassionate and thorough. They even discovered she had abscessed teeth and fixed that while she was under too. They made a stressful situation a lot better. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Read Less

I have been taking my three cats to Family Pet Clinic since they opened. Drs. Randy and Dan Matthiesen continue to impress me with their kindness and compassion as well as their extensive knowledge of veterinary medicine. One of my cats, George, was diagnosed with diabetes two years ago. Dr. Dan worked with me to manage the diabetes with daily insulin injections. When George's kidneys eventually began to fail him, Dr. Dan taught me how to give him fluids at home. I know that without the care I found at Family Pet Clinic, my dear George would not have graced us with his presence these last two years. When the time finally came to say goodbye and have George euthanized, the entire staff at Family Pet Clinic was incredibly supportive. Dr. Randy Matthiesen made a house call so that George's last moments could be in the comfort of his own home. I wholeheartedly recommend Family Pet Clinic, Drs. Don't even consider going to this Vet. Because I choose to put my animal down because of complications and I couldn't afford (over $1000.00) on surgery which may or may not have worked they told me I should give up my right of ownership to this animal. All because I couldn't afford the surgery. I am a great pet owner and would never harm or neglect any animal. I was outraged that they would just suggest this making me feel that I was unable to take care of an animal. How dare they say this!! PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS!! Read Less
