This review is intended to be accurate information to help anyone make a decision of where they want to bring their furbabies for check-ups and issues that may arise. We are professional breeders of Maine Coon kittens and put our heart and soul into all our cats and kittens. One of the most important components is to have Vets that we trust and to know that our cats can be seen in an emergency situation. I understand there is Vet care and then there is emergency Vet care but... we've come to rely on Dr. Ferro and Dr. Garland for at least 20 years and do not trust others with our babies. If I could give a higher rating I would. I'd like to share one experience which happened less than a year ago. One of our queens was having a very difficult time delivering and it was about 4pm when we brought her in and about 6 pm when it was apparent she was going to lose all her babies. Dr. Ferro rushed her in for a C-section and spay. After the surgery he made sure she was stable & comfortable and went home for dinner. He met us back at his clinic 3 hours later to pick our girl up and take her home. He saved 4 of her kittens and they are all healthy and in loving homes. Jasmine is healthy and happy. It takes a very special person to give above and beyond of themselves to care for animals AND their parents. It's true the office can get crowded but that speaks volumes of how popular, loved nd trusted this Veterinarian is. Dr. Ferro (as any business owner) expects a certain level of competence. Please be patient with the receptionists because they are juggling many tasks including phones, walk-ins, paperwork, files, check-ins, check-outs, relaying messages to the Dr.'s and many other things. Customers are not being ignored.....they are just taking a breather. Please take the time to "Thank" all these hard workers who take care of your furbabies. We have had some awful experiences at other Vet offices and feel truly blessed to be welcomed into this business. Love Dr Doug, but sadly has sold to a vet corporation. Prices have gone up and the new woman vet was not kind or helpful in a very stressful tramatic situation. This was my go to clinic for urgent surgery, especially breeding related issues. The new vet informed me she has no room in her brain for anything to do with reproduction. I will only be going in on days Dr Doug, or his regular lady associate vet is there. The new team will cause many of us regulars to seek care else where. At least Dr Doug will still be there for a year. So sad to see an amazing clinic built on fair prices and loving care is now just another corporate chain

This place is really wonderful!! I volunteer with the rabbit advocates, and they recommend this vet if you are in the SE side of town. They are very good with all kinds of animals, but it was harder to find a good vet for my bunny and these people are very good and knowledgeable!! Also their prices are really good!!

TREATED HORRID! We took our dog in to have a tiny bump removed from his side. Dr. Garland chose/used internal sutures (to “save us from having to come back again” BS!) but did not close the wound. Waited 24 hours and the wound began to open up (of course). Had to go back the following day, ended up paying to sedate our dog again and was charged again for their mistake. No apology, when we finally were able to contact our regular Dr. Ferro he was dismissive about our concerns and treated us disrespectfully. They showed no care whatsoever for our dog. NO APOLOGY? rude! No one should take an animal here for anything! Clueless, out of touch, out of date. Terrible experience. Thankfully our pup has healed up, wish I could post the photos!

The vet is nice and seems to care, but everyone else seems very incompetent. They drop the ball, they don’t pass the message along, they’re too busy or incompetent to be thorough. I looked to these people as I would look to my doctor if I was sick. I am supposed to be able to trust the vet, they’re the experts. However, I believe they caused our dog’s premature death by overdosing him with medication. I even called to double check the dose and was reassured, yet our 5 year old mastiff died 8 days into the medication. Find any other vet in Oregon City.

I took my kitten here to be neutered, and my puppy for a new puppy exam. I only went here because it's a lot less expensive than the Vet I had been going to. And because all the reviews I read seemed all right. But when I came to pick my cat up, the whole office - and my cat reeked of cat pee. I had to stand there for at least three minutes then finally ask the sectretary if I was supposes to pay now. She just ignored me up until I asked.The secretaries were unorganized, and the whole place was chaotic and so unprofessional. The Vet I saw told me there is no way my puppy knows to go to the door to go outside; even though he HAS, several times. And that I shouldn't even tell my puppy "no" if he pees in the house, because then he will think going potty is bad. I guess I will try a new place again, because I will never come back here!

I have been bringing my small animals here since 1986. Never had a bad experience at all. Now all I can say is the care is excellent still and when I call first thing in the morning my pets can be seen sameday. I have tried other clinics looking for Lower cost. Barclay Hills continues to charge On the reasonable end of the scale and yet be high quality care. I drive in from Canby and it is well worth it!

I am really happy to have found Barclay Hills Animal Clinic. My roommate recommended them, and she was right! These people are so compassionate and caring. When recommended, I was told that her doctor mainly does cats, so I was a little worried, but I shouldn't have been. They have doctors for all animals, and Willie, my springer, was in great hands. Willie is a suspicious sort, (my springer) and they always handle him so wonderfully! Their prices are very reasonable for vete...rinary care, and I am completely satisfied with their prices and their services. I would not hesitate to take any animal here. Only one time in my many visits have I ever felt like the cost was high considering I didn't end up with a diagnosis. I tend to just blame my silly dog though.

I'm currently in the midst of a ringworm outbreak that has wreaked havoc on my family, animals, and pocketbook. I had a kitten with a URI for 3 mos also when I decided to switch vets. The book was thrown at my kitten to help her and I didn't have to wait for cultures or hundreds of dollars of tests to get it. I am grateful. Beyond grateful and I will only take my pets there now. Price was so reasonable and I do not understand how anyone would say the staff is unfriendly. They are busy - maybe they were doing many things at once! They were all wonderful!

My cat was misdiagnosed twice within a year there. Doug Ferro after a couple minutes said he was just losing summer weight, no problem. A year later, emaciated and sick, another vet there threw antibiotics at it without a diagnosis. It was now dying in the closet and I TOLD THEM to test for Feline Leukemia, and it was positive but then critically dying. I lost a year of loving my darling cat, while watching it decline and transmitting the virus to my other cats. I will NEVER go back to Barclay. (I will say the receptionist Michelle was sweet and kind and made every visit worthwhile just to chat with her.)

Our 8 year Boston died in my arms at home from a seizure last month. She now sits in an urn by my bed as a constant reminder I should have sought treatment elsewhere. .. I told Barkley I found her outside once and in my front room once collapsed. She was treated for many things and had many tests. The female assistance in my personal opinion should not be an assistant. The older doctor seemed knowledgeable and should have been treating our dog .....We rushed her up there a few times. There is so much more to this nightmare. Long story short. Our Boston was having seizures and should have been treated for them.... I would Never go here again.

I had a sick bunny and after calling countless vets was able to secure an appointment at this clinic. They were so kind and compassionate. The vet was like a rabbit whisperer. She gave her a thorough exam and felt a large mass in her abdomen. My sweet girl Harvey passed away in my arms while I was filling out paperwork to have her put to sleep. Again, the doctor and office staff were so kind. Their prices were great and I would recommend this clinic to anyone.

I'll never take my pets anywhere else. Dr Ferro and his staff have always been pleasant, professional and most importantly caring. My dog needed to have some tumors removed...and rather wait a few days or until next week, made room on his very busy Saturday to get the tumors removed. I appreciate that so very much. He sense of urgency for the care of my dog seemed to be top priority. So thank you Barclay Hills Vet and Staff. You guys rock!

I believe the care of they received was good but the whole The atmosphere was not what you would expect from a top-notch clinic. If I was able to I would advise the clinic to add more lighting improve customer service and at least introduce yourself when you walk in the door to treat a pet.

Do you love your pets? Don't take them here. You can easily find another veterinary clinic with competent, compassionate employees. Barclay Hills offers sub-par animal care for higher prices than you would pay elsewhere, with an incredibly rude and apathetic attitude to boot. I have been taking my black lab to Barclay for nearly 4 years. Their service and medical care used to be good, but has. Even declining steadily over the last year or so. Today, Barclay and Dr. Farro advised me "not to worry" that my dog had gotten into a box of steel wool pads and possibly ingested the steel fibers. The woman on the phone, actually had the audacity to laugh at me when I called in to ask for advice. When I asked her what exactly the joke was, she had no answer. I contacted two other vet hospitals in the area, and both recommended an emergency appointment and X-rays, with possible follow-up care (stomach pump and overnight observation) if my dog had steel wool fibers in her stomach. Again, the "staff" at Barclay told me, literally, "not to worry." They didn't ask how long ago the incident had happened, what she had ingested specifically, etc- just dismissed my concern and gave me incredibly dangerous advice, which I luckily didn't listen to. I wound up taking my dog to a VCA on 82nd drive, where they administered an exam, took X-rays, and took action to resolve the issue, all while displaying compassion and competency at the highest level. Barclays Hills is a joke of an animal clinic. Don't waste your time, or put your pets at risk.

I think it's a great place to entrust your pets health care needs. Quick and accurate diagnosis and an estimate of the charges up front. In our case we were told by two other vets and one that we were referred that our Shi-Tzu's treatment could run at least $1249.00. Dr. Ferro and his staff completed the necessary surgery and the bill was only $253.00 fantastic doctor and staff. We now call it "The best Vet".

This clinic has provided excellent care for my pets for several years. Their prices are reasonable and better than most because they don't have the giant, fancy new facility to pay for. Dr Ferro is able to perform procedures other vets refer to specialists. I am confident in the care my pets receive from Dr Ferro and Dr Garland. I don't care about hold times, waiting room asthetics or trying to get something for nothing. I just want to know my dogs have good care and I'm not getting ripped off. This place checks all the boxes for me.

Expect to be put on hold for 10 minutes every time you call, just to get an over booked appt. When I came (on time) to my appt today, I could over hear the staff discussing whether or not they thought anyone was in the room ( I had been waiting in for over 15 min)! Not to mention the only chair in the room was covered in dog hair and when I finally saw the vet my issue was barely addressed and I was quickly escorted out. Almost every time I've been in to buy medications , the staff is often not helpful and it always seems to be too busy for them to even handle. Definitely not going back.

The only affordable clinic I have found that neuters bunnies. My rabbit recovered with no complications. I always recommend Barclay to other bunny owners.

We have been taking our pets to Barclay Hills for several years now and wouldn't go anywhere else. Not only are the vets caring and knowledgeable, the prices are VERY reasonable. We have had several pets with conditions that were challenging to diagnose and treat, and Barclay Hills was more than willing to work with OSU to coordinate our pets' care and treatment. I very much respect the fact that they are up front about what they CAN'T do and readily refer you out vs. charging you to try a bunch of things before ultimately referring you out. I like that they discuss options with you (and cost) in a direct manner. I also like that they try the least invasive and least expensive options first and don't immediately recommend expensive diagnostics your pet might not need (unlike a lot of other vet clinics).

I phoned twice in a couple days looking to make an appointment. I would have been a new customer, I was trying to help my parents who were looking for a new vet. The first time I phoned I was on hold for over 4 minutes and hung up, the second time I called I was on hold for over 3 minutes and hung up. This place came highly recommended by someone in my family who takes their animals there. You lost my business but I did end up finding the vet clinic/doctor I really wanted, so thank you for that. But really, if you can't handle the call volume get another receptionists or just take a name and number and call people back.

And from one of her shots an infection developed and the had the nerve to argue and say it was my fault. They wouldn't absolve the cost of the treatment and they knew exactly what happened. I've never experienced the lack of professionalism in my 37 years. Please do some research and choose a reputable veterinarian. Berry hill is a fantastic place

I started taking my pets there about a year ago,and everything was initially fine, but a recent experience there has made me decide to go elsewhere. I took my pet in for a dental cleaning and agreed to pay for the extra cost blood workup. When I went to pick up my pet the vet gave me the blood test results, which looked alarming - lots of highlighted values. But the vet quickly explained that their machine was malfunctioning and that a second "hand test" confirmed that their machine was indeed faulty and my pet was okay (and thus would survive the anesthesia for the procedure.) The vet then assured me they would not charge me for the blood test.When I got home I realized that they DID charge me for the blood test, so I called them up to mention it. The vet then clarified that she meant I would not be charged for the SECOND blood test - the one she HAD to perform to ethically continue with the procedure (since the first test indicated the pet wouldn't survive it.) She insisted that it was completely fair that I pay the full price for a test from a faulty machine - a test with values that are worthless. I disagreed, but what else could I do? They already had my money and it seems like that was what was important to them. But as a result I think their behavior was unethical and deceitful, and I won't be returning.

We take our 1 year old cat here, and our 5 month old Husky. We have never had a problem with any services here, from regular check ups, flea and ear mite treatment for our cat, and neutering for our pup. The receptionists have never been snooty to us (referring to comments below), but I can say that there is always an off day for any office/business. Their pricing is always fair, and the doctor (Ferro) tells you before hand and asks if the price works for you, which I found to be really considerate and above standard. He is just a nice guy, cares about your pet, and answers all questions. We will continue to take both of our four legged children here!

He takes the time to answer to your questions and it is not after your money. The ladies at the front desk are usually very busy and to some people they can appear to be rude; but trust me, I've been going there for almost 7 years and I'm telling you, they are not!! I had a minor incident once with one of them a long time ago, but I don't think she worked there long. I shared my concern with Ashley, who is my favorite of all the assistants. Aside from that, all is great.

Update 01/01/2016: Dr. Amanda Tinsley has moved to the VCA Woodstock Animal Hospital. I have transferred my charts to her there for continued care. I have changed my rating to reflect this change in staff.I highly recommend Dr. Tinsley. I will not take my cats to ANY other vet. She has gone above and beyond to keep my animals healthy, and on one occasion went completely out of her way to help one of my cats pass peacefully from this world.Being unwilling to put my terminally ill cat through the agony of a crated trip to the vet, Dr. Tinsley came to my house as soon as she could to help her pass away painlessly, and with dignity in her own home. I am eternally grateful for this act of compassion. She was quick, precise, and a great comfort to my family.Dr. Tinsley is educated, and most of all, compassionate. If you can, ask for her by name. You will not regret it. If she was ever to move locations, I would follow her in a instant.

I started bringing the 4 legged family members here about a year ago. The staff are very nice and professional. I didn't get the snooty vibe like other reviewers but maybe an off day will do that. We've seen both Doctors there and I appreciate their professional demeanor. Having owned a German Shepherd for 12 years, I've felt and noticed the prejudices past Vets have displayed. It was nice to not get that from here. The office hours are great as I like being able to get a Saturday appointment. The parking lot is small and so is the waiting room. That's my biggest complaint so far after 1 1/2 years.Depending on the service, I have found they can be on the "spendy" side. But, I did the puppy and kitten packages which reduced the rates and brought them to competitive level. I'll also admit I'm insane enough to bring the 85 lbs shepherd, 35 lbs Collie mix and the cat in at the same time to get a "Family Discount". I'm glad for the post card reminders so I have some assistance in keeping up on their shots.

This review is intended to be accurate information to help anyone make a decision of where they want to bring their furbabies for check-ups and issues that may arise. We are professional breeders of Maine Coon kittens and put our heart and soul into all our cats and kittens. One of the most important components is to have Vets that we trust and to know that our cats can be seen in an emergency situation. I understand there is Vet care and then there is emergency Vet care but... we've come to rely on Dr. Ferro and Dr. Garland for at least 20 years and do not trust others with our babies. If I could give a higher rating I would. I'd like to share one experience which happened less than a year ago. One of our queens was having a very difficult time delivering and it was about 4pm when we brought her in and about 6 pm when it was apparent she was going to lose all her babies. Dr. Ferro rushed her in for a C-section and spay. After the surgery he made sure she was stable & comfortable and went home for dinner. He met us back at his clinic 3 hours later to pick our girl up and take her home. He saved 4 of her kittens and they are all healthy and in loving homes. Jasmine is healthy and happy. It takes a very special person to give above and beyond of themselves to care for animals AND their parents. It's true the office can get crowded but that speaks volumes of how popular, loved nd trusted this Veterinarian is. Dr. Ferro (as any business owner) expects a certain level of competence. Please be patient with the receptionists because they are juggling many tasks including phones, walk-ins, paperwork, files, check-ins, check-outs, relaying messages to the Dr.'s and many other things. Customers are not being ignored.....they are just taking a breather. Please take the time to "Thank" all these hard workers who take care of your furbabies. We have had some awful experiences at other Vet offices and feel truly blessed to be welcomed into this business. Love Dr Doug, but sadly has sold to a vet corporation. Prices have gone up and the new woman vet was not kind or helpful in a very stressful tramatic situation. This was my go to clinic for urgent surgery, especially breeding related issues. The new vet informed me she has no room in her brain for anything to do with reproduction. I will only be going in on days Dr Doug, or his regular lady associate vet is there. The new team will cause many of us regulars to seek care else where. At least Dr Doug will still be there for a year. So sad to see an amazing clinic built on fair prices and loving care is now just another corporate chain

TREATED HORRID! We took our dog in to have a tiny bump removed from his side. Dr. Garland chose/used internal sutures (to “save us from having to come back again” BS!) but did not close the wound. Waited 24 hours and the wound began to open up (of course). Had to go back the following day, ended up paying to sedate our dog again and was charged again for their mistake. No apology, when we finally were able to contact our regular Dr. Ferro he was dismissive about our concerns and treated us disrespectfully. They showed no care whatsoever for our dog. NO APOLOGY? rude! No one should take an animal here for anything! Clueless, out of touch, out of date. Terrible experience. Thankfully our pup has healed up, wish I could post the photos!

The vet is nice and seems to care, but everyone else seems very incompetent. They drop the ball, they don’t pass the message along, they’re too busy or incompetent to be thorough. I looked to these people as I would look to my doctor if I was sick. I am supposed to be able to trust the vet, they’re the experts. However, I believe they caused our dog’s premature death by overdosing him with medication. I even called to double check the dose and was reassured, yet our 5 year old mastiff died 8 days into the medication. Find any other vet in Oregon City.

I took my kitten here to be neutered, and my puppy for a new puppy exam. I only went here because it's a lot less expensive than the Vet I had been going to. And because all the reviews I read seemed all right. But when I came to pick my cat up, the whole office - and my cat reeked of cat pee. I had to stand there for at least three minutes then finally ask the sectretary if I was supposes to pay now. She just ignored me up until I asked.The secretaries were unorganized, and the whole place was chaotic and so unprofessional. The Vet I saw told me there is no way my puppy knows to go to the door to go outside; even though he HAS, several times. And that I shouldn't even tell my puppy "no" if he pees in the house, because then he will think going potty is bad. I guess I will try a new place again, because I will never come back here!

When recommended, I was told that her doctor mainly does cats, so I was a little worried, but I shouldn't have been. They have doctors for all animals, and Willie, my springer, was in great hands. Willie is a suspicious sort, (my springer) and they always handle him so wonderfully! I'm currently in the midst of a ringworm outbreak that has wreaked havoc on my family, animals, and pocketbook. I had a kitten with a URI for 3 mos also when I decided to switch vets. The book was thrown at my kitten to help her and I didn't have to wait for cultures or hundreds of dollars of tests to get it. I am grateful. Beyond grateful and I will only take my pets there now. Price was so reasonable and I do not understand how anyone would say the staff is unfriendly. They are busy - maybe they were doing many things at once! They were all wonderful!

My cat was misdiagnosed twice within a year there. Doug Ferro after a couple minutes said he was just losing summer weight, no problem. A year later, emaciated and sick, another vet there threw antibiotics at it without a diagnosis. It was now dying in the closet and I TOLD THEM to test for Feline Leukemia, and it was positive but then critically dying. I lost a year of loving my darling cat, while watching it decline and transmitting the virus to my other cats. I will NEVER go back to Barclay. (I will say the receptionist Michelle was sweet and kind and made every visit worthwhile just to chat with her.)

Our 8 year Boston died in my arms at home from a seizure last month. She now sits in an urn by my bed as a constant reminder I should have sought treatment elsewhere. .. I told Barkley I found her outside once and in my front room once collapsed. She was treated for many things and had many tests. The female assistance in my personal opinion should not be an assistant. The older doctor seemed knowledgeable and should have been treating our dog .....We rushed her up there a few times. There is so much more to this nightmare. Long story short. Our Boston was having seizures and should have been treated for them.... I would Never go here again.

I had a sick bunny and after calling countless vets was able to secure an appointment at this clinic. They were so kind and compassionate. The vet was like a rabbit whisperer. She gave her a thorough exam and felt a large mass in her abdomen. My sweet girl Harvey passed away in my arms while I was filling out paperwork to have her put to sleep. Again, the doctor and office staff were so kind. Their prices were great and I would recommend this clinic to anyone.

I'll never take my pets anywhere else. Dr Ferro and his staff have always been pleasant, professional and most importantly caring. My dog needed to have some tumors removed...and rather wait a few days or until next week, made room on his very busy Saturday to get the tumors removed. I appreciate that so very much. He sense of urgency for the care of my dog seemed to be top priority. So thank you Barclay Hills Vet and Staff. You guys rock!

My dogs are just like my kids. My experience with this clinic was mediocre at best. I believe the care of they received was good but the whole The atmosphere was not what you would expect from a top-notch clinic. If I was able to I would advise the clinic to add more lighting improve customer service and at least introduce yourself when you walk in the door to treat a pet.

Do you love your pets? Don't take them here. You can easily find another veterinary clinic with competent, compassionate employees. Barclay Hills offers sub-par animal care for higher prices than you would pay elsewhere, with an incredibly rude and apathetic attitude to boot. I have been taking my black lab to Barclay for nearly 4 years. Their service and medical care used to be good, but has. Even declining steadily over the last year or so. Today, Barclay and Dr. Farro advised me "not to worry" that my dog had gotten into a box of steel wool pads and possibly ingested the steel fibers. The woman on the phone, actually had the audacity to laugh at me when I called in to ask for advice. When I asked her what exactly the joke was, she had no answer. I contacted two other vet hospitals in the area, and both recommended an emergency appointment and X-rays, with possible follow-up care (stomach pump and overnight observation) if my dog had steel wool fibers in her stomach. Again, the "staff" at Barclay told me, literally, "not to worry." They didn't ask how long ago the incident had happened, what she had ingested specifically, etc- just dismissed my concern and gave me incredibly dangerous advice, which I luckily didn't listen to. I wound up taking my dog to a VCA on 82nd drive, where they administered an exam, took X-rays, and took action to resolve the issue, all while displaying compassion and competency at the highest level. Barclays Hills is a joke of an animal clinic. Don't waste your time, or put your pets at risk.

The staff specializes in rabbits!!! This is the only place I take my animals, rabbits or otherwise. Dr. Ferro and his staff are the best!

I think it's a great place to entrust your pets health care needs. Quick and accurate diagnosis and an estimate of the charges up front. In our case we were told by two other vets and one that we were referred that our Shi-Tzu's treatment could run at least $1249.00. Dr. Ferro and his staff completed the necessary surgery and the bill was only $253.00 fantastic doctor and staff. We now call it "The best Vet".

This clinic has provided excellent care for my pets for several years. Their prices are reasonable and better than most because they don't have the giant, fancy new facility to pay for. Dr Ferro is able to perform procedures other vets refer to specialists. I am confident in the care my pets receive from Dr Ferro and Dr Garland. I don't care about hold times, waiting room asthetics or trying to get something for nothing. I just want to know my dogs have good care and I'm not getting ripped off. This place checks all the boxes for me.

Expect to be put on hold for 10 minutes every time you call, just to get an over booked appt. When I came (on time) to my appt today, I could over hear the staff discussing whether or not they thought anyone was in the room ( I had been waiting in for over 15 min)! Not to mention the only chair in the room was covered in dog hair and when I finally saw the vet my issue was barely addressed and I was quickly escorted out. Almost every time I've been in to buy medications , the staff is often not helpful and it always seems to be too busy for them to even handle. Definitely not going back.

The only affordable clinic I have found that neuters bunnies. My rabbit recovered with no complications. I always recommend Barclay to other bunny owners.

We have been taking our pets to Barclay Hills for several years now and wouldn't go anywhere else. Not only are the vets caring and knowledgeable, the prices are VERY reasonable. We have had several pets with conditions that were challenging to diagnose and treat, and Barclay Hills was more than willing to work with OSU to coordinate our pets' care and treatment. I very much respect the fact that they are up front about what they CAN'T do and readily refer you out vs. charging you to try a bunch of things before ultimately referring you out. I like that they discuss options with you (and cost) in a direct manner. I also like that they try the least invasive and least expensive options first and don't immediately recommend expensive diagnostics your pet might not need (unlike a lot of other vet clinics).

I phoned twice in a couple days looking to make an appointment. I would have been a new customer, I was trying to help my parents who were looking for a new vet. The first time I phoned I was on hold for over 4 minutes and hung up, the second time I called I was on hold for over 3 minutes and hung up. This place came highly recommended by someone in my family who takes their animals there. You lost my business but I did end up finding the vet clinic/doctor I really wanted, so thank you for that. But really, if you can't handle the call volume get another receptionists or just take a name and number and call people back.

Just moved back into the area and came back to Barclay. We had moved away for about 6 years and just came back and I am just so impressed with this place. We have a new puppy and and old puppy that needed check ups. The gals at the counter were pretty nice and everything was so easy . I forgot the name of the nice Lady Vet that helped my dogs but after it was all done I was sooooo please and the price was best of all. E everything from ear drops to worming meds and I was all set.. Thanks again guys and I'll see you in 3 weeks for 2nd puppy visit

And from one of her shots an infection developed and the had the nerve to argue and say it was my fault. They wouldn't absolve the cost of the treatment and they knew exactly what happened. I've never experienced the lack of professionalism in my 37 years. Please do some research and choose a reputable veterinarian. Berry hill is a fantastic place

I started taking my pets there about a year ago,and everything was initially fine, but a recent experience there has made me decide to go elsewhere. I took my pet in for a dental cleaning and agreed to pay for the extra cost blood workup. When I went to pick up my pet the vet gave me the blood test results, which looked alarming - lots of highlighted values. But the vet quickly explained that their machine was malfunctioning and that a second "hand test" confirmed that their machine was indeed faulty and my pet was okay (and thus would survive the anesthesia for the procedure.) The vet then assured me they would not charge me for the blood test.When I got home I realized that they DID charge me for the blood test, so I called them up to mention it. The vet then clarified that she meant I would not be charged for the SECOND blood test - the one she HAD to perform to ethically continue with the procedure (since the first test indicated the pet wouldn't survive it.) She insisted that it was completely fair that I pay the full price for a test from a faulty machine - a test with values that are worthless. I disagreed, but what else could I do? They already had my money and it seems like that was what was important to them. But as a result I think their behavior was unethical and deceitful, and I won't be returning.

We have never had a problem with any services here, from regular check ups, flea and ear mite treatment for our cat, and neutering for our pup. The receptionists have never been snooty to us (referring to comments below), but I can say that there is always an off day for any office/business. Their pricing is always fair, and the doctor (Ferro) tells you before hand and asks if the price works for you, which I found to be really considerate and above standard. He is just a nice guy, cares about your pet, and answers all questions. We will continue to take both of our four legged children here!

It is easy to get an appointment and they are always thorough, knowledgeable, and compassionate in their care. Their fees are very fair. They were so wonderful to us when we had to have our dog put down last summer. I am very thankful for this veterinary clinic!!

He takes the time to answer to your questions and it is not after your money. The ladies at the front desk are usually very busy and to some people they can appear to be rude; but trust me, I've been going there for almost 7 years and I'm telling you, they are not!! I had a minor incident once with one of them a long time ago, but I don't think she worked there long. I shared my concern with Ashley, who is my favorite of all the assistants. Aside from that, all is great.

Update 01/01/2016: Dr. Amanda Tinsley has moved to the VCA Woodstock Animal Hospital. I have transferred my charts to her there for continued care. I have changed my rating to reflect this change in staff.I highly recommend Dr. Tinsley. I will not take my cats to ANY other vet. She has gone above and beyond to keep my animals healthy, and on one occasion went completely out of her way to help one of my cats pass peacefully from this world.Being unwilling to put my terminally ill cat through the agony of a crated trip to the vet, Dr. Tinsley came to my house as soon as she could to help her pass away painlessly, and with dignity in her own home. I am eternally grateful for this act of compassion. She was quick, precise, and a great comfort to my family.Dr. Tinsley is educated, and most of all, compassionate. If you can, ask for her by name. You will not regret it. If she was ever to move locations, I would follow her in a instant.

I started bringing the 4 legged family members here about a year ago. The staff are very nice and professional. I didn't get the snooty vibe like other reviewers but maybe an off day will do that. We've seen both Doctors there and I appreciate their professional demeanor. Having owned a German Shepherd for 12 years, I've felt and noticed the prejudices past Vets have displayed. It was nice to not get that from here. The office hours are great as I like being able to get a Saturday appointment. The parking lot is small and so is the waiting room. That's my biggest complaint so far after 1 1/2 years.Depending on the service, I have found they can be on the "spendy" side. But, I did the puppy and kitten packages which reduced the rates and brought them to competitive level. I'll also admit I'm insane enough to bring the 85 lbs shepherd, 35 lbs Collie mix and the cat in at the same time to get a "Family Discount". I'm glad for the post card reminders so I have some assistance in keeping up on their shots.

I'm not sure what their problem is but every time I would speak "out of turn," or talk when they hadn't asked me a question, they didn't respond or even look at me. And I'm a pretty quiet person so I don't think I was being obnoxious or anything.

We will be going back for our dog's care.It didn't get five stars because it's a little dingy, lacks seating while you are waiting, and the reception staff are kinda snooty.
