Both of my dogs have had dentals here in the past year. The staff is kind and they have a lot of information about rabies in the area and canine flu. One of the big reasons why we love him so much is because he likes to use naturopathic medicine first before using other resources. I've taken my Australian Shepherd, Hollywood, here a few times and I have had nothing but quality service each and every time. She deals with itchy skin and some stomach issues and each time the vets/staff have been very patient and loving. They don't mind all of my questions, prices are very affordable and they give options for treatment which I love! I called once when I was being a worry wort and they even gave me additional advice over the phone (regarding something Holly was just seen for) to help ease my nerves. I brought my 1 1/2 year old lab mix, and 4 month old cat in for check ups and immunizations. Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. None of them made me feel like I was asking too many questions, never felt like they were trying to rush through to the next patient. Definitely recommend for all your pet needs. The only frustration I really had was with the lady checking us in. I have absolutely no patience and have been that way my whole life. I also hate repeating myself, which I had to do numerous times. 2-4 times I felt like she was annoyed with me and I felt a bit uncomfortable. I have been taking my fur babies to Oregon City Veterinary Clinic for 26 years. Yes, there can be wait when the lobby is full but knowing that all their attention is focused on you and your pets when you are in the exam room makes the wait worth it. All of the doctors and support staff are kind and gentle. Out of curiosity I called a vet clinic closer to my home to see what it would cost to spay and neuter the kittens I recently adopted from rescue. I was shocked at the amount, over $250 per kitten! Could not ask for a better vet. Initially I was apprehensive because I had been going to this clinic for over 20 years and my original vet left with no notification. So when I came in I had the shock of him not being there and this 'new guy'...Dr. Chris. I don't do change very well... but Dr. Chris won me and my dogs over in spades! I love how before an exam he talks TO my dogs... as if they were his own. When he talks to me...his communication skills are excellent. I never leave confused and wondering. And he doesn't just go for your wallet. His first concern is the animals. I swear he has the soul of an small country vet that if he could, he'd accept eggs, fresh butter, or a chicken as payment. He recently came to my home and helped me with the very difficult decision to put one of my dogs down. I am grateful that he offers at home services. He was very professional and extremely compassionate. I am thankful for the change in veterinarians. If he is ever to relocate, I will drive my dogs to where ever he is. I have been going to Oregon City Vet for over 20 years. When Dr. Chris appeared I was skeptical. I don't much care for change. However, his first time examining my dog he discovered a heart murmur that I didn't know my dog had. But I have had that dog for almost 8 years.. and I think that was Dr. Chris's first week at the clinic. I put my trust....and my pets in his care that day and he did not disappoint me. He's honest, thorough, detailed and communicates extremely w...ell. Above all, he puts the animals care above the almighty dollar. Don't get me wrong, he wants to be paid for what he does just like anybody else. But he will do what ever he can to make sure your pet gets the best care first...without taking you to the cleaners. Yes it was nice that payments was an accepted practice before he arrived..but I'm guessing so many people did not uphold their end of that arrangement that the practice began to suffer. Don't blame him for the payment due at time of service change. Blame the slackers that took advantage, got their pets cared for and then skipped out on their responsibility to pay. BTW, he even came to my house to put one of my beloved dogs to sleep for me this week. I don't know of too many vets that will come to your home so your pet can be handled at home surrounded by all the sights and smells it's familiar with... instead of being stressed out at the clinic on it's final day. I'm so glad to have found this vet! Everyone working there - from the front desk staff to the veterinarian who examined my dog - was friendly and obviously loved animals. We were in and out in about an hour, and that included a full exam and vaccinations. I really appreciate the clinic's low fees - my previous vet was so expensive! At the OC vet clinic, my dog received several vaccinations (including rabies), a microchip (and online registration for the chip), a full examination, and was registered with Clackamas County... the entire bill was under $150. They were also very willing to explain the different vaccination options and what they thought were necessary to have in our region, didn't push me to get more. Be aware that this is a walk-in clinic, so your wait will depend on how many people are ahead of you. I went on a Tuesday afternoon and the wait was very short, but I imagine the weekends would be longer. A note about the one star review: You *have* to register your dogs in Clacakamas county - it's the law. If the county receives a rabies vacation notice from the vet and you haven't registered, they will fine you. This is not the fault of the vet! Just pay the $19 and save yourself the trouble. The brand-new owner or his staff used my Yelp review without asking me, used my name, and edited out the focus of my review, placing it at the TOP of his new website's testimonial page (they removed all mention of Dr. Nelson, who is no longer with them) to make it look like I'm recommending their entire new staff. I have asked them several times to remove it by e-mail, phone, and on their facebook page. The last time they deleted my request on this very page! I have done nothing but ask politely. I am so disgusted by their lack of ethics - please do not go to this clinic! I used to recommend everyone here and to Dr. Nelson (our favorite vet) but now that I have no experience with all these new people, except for them acting so fraudulently, I would never, ever wish their services on anyone. What a lack of honesty and integrity! I was even told over the phone by their office that Dr. Chris would call me to discuss this (he's the new owner) but that never happened. I mentioned that they could e-mail me, since I work long hours (they never did). Over the phone they denied it and said, "We don't do that," but changed their tune after I said I have screenshots of everything and the office subsequently apologized, but never promised to take it down. I have gone to this vet for about 7 years now and absolutely love the vets here. They are very kind and understanding, are affordable, and are amazing at explaining the care options and high and low end scales of care we could do for each situation. I take my pet dogs here as well as guide dog puppies I raise for Guide Dogs for the Blind. The staff is great at working with the guide dog puppies' different protocols as needed and communicating/sending their records to Guide Dogs anytime it is needed. I have had multiple dogs have surgeries here for spay and neutering, lump removals, growths on the mouth/eye and they have all gone wonderfully. I have also sent many friends here who have also been happy with them. And Dr Todd is the best! Read Less
