I have a 13 year old Norwegian Forest Cat I love like a child. I have moved every year of my cat's life and have taken Maximus to many vets in many states, including 2 previous cat only vets. This was, by far, the most thorough exam he has ever received. Dr. Dykehouse takes the time to understand your cat's history, temperament, and needs. They researched the food I feed him on the during the exam while the Dr. clipped his nails. They even called me AFTER my first appointment because the Dr. had continued to review his medical records after I left and had more thoughts to share. I have been going to Argay Cat Hospital with my cats for at least 25 years.Dr Dykehouse, Jill, Linnea, and Yara are all fantastic.  Over the years, they have taken care of my pets needs...be that a check-up, vaccine, spay/neutering, a few surgeries, and alas end of life decisions.  Dr is very compassionate and honest.  I trust his suggestions.  I highly recommend this clinic and have told Dr that he is not allowed to retire, until I no longer have pets. I had to find a new clinic for my kitty. I love the ladies as well as the doctor at this clinic. My cat is my best friend, and very close to my heart, and they love cats just as much. They go above and beyond and it's not just about money, you can just tell. We were taking Rigby to a normal vet first and they couldn't figure out his vomiting and other issues. They just gave us medicine to fix the symptoms. The very first time we took him to Argay, they fixed everything! No medicine... just a shave, different food, and a better probiotic. Rigby is now completely healthy and we couldn't be happier!! I have been wanting to change vets for a long time, as I am not interested in entering into any of Banfield's "pet wellness" contracts, and all they do when I'm there is try to sell me on one. Over the weekend I had noticed my 3-4 yr old male cat urinating oddly and more and more frequently. I was worried he had an infection or crystals and called Argay based on glowing reviews from people on the app Nextdoor. I was lucky when I called and they were able to fit me in right away, as they were worried for the immediate health of my cat. Dr. Dykehouse and the Vet tech were so friendly and very thorough, and the dr. took a lot of time to have a real conversation with me about my options. They seemed genuinely concerned for my cat as well as for my bottom line. This is exactly what I was looking for and I could not be more pleased with my visit! Read Less

I just adopted an 8 month old kitten from Oregon Humane Society and brought him to Dr. Dykehouse for an initial physical. I had several choices in Vets but I brought him to Argay Cat clinic after getting a wonderful referral. I could not have been more pleased. The staff was extremely pleasant and very helpful in my check in process. I didn't have to wait but more than 5 minutes before Dr. Dykehouse saw my new kitten. He was super thorough and answered all my questions plus more.My cat unfortunately came to me sick but the Dr gave me all my options and even persuaded me not to spend more money on tests. Wow...you never hear of that!To top it off he personally called me a couple hours later after our visit to go over other options and opinions he looked up from other vets regarding my cat's health.Again, you never hear of this. I very highly recommend Dr Henry Dykehouse and his staff at the Argay Cat Clinic.  This is a cat only clinic and is the first I have seen or used in all the years we have had cats.  I recently had to take my kitty, Kiwi, in and after Dr. Dykehouse did an examination and several tests I had to make the saddest decision. Dr. Dykehouse guided Kiwi compassionately and with loving care to the small animal rainbow bridge.  We were given ample time to say our goodbyes and I held her on my lap a while after she drew her last breath.  Last Thursday we picked up Kiwi's ashes and her paw prints.  Kiwi was a gentle sweet kitty and leaves years of happy memories that she was with me.  I am so glad I was fortunate in finding a cat clinic and veterinarian as wonderful as this. They are kind and really go over what's happening with the cats. I'm always impressed when I call after months and they remember something about my cats instantly. I have brought my several cats to this clinic for several years.  The vet techs are very friendly and supportive.  I think the prices are reasonable.  Dr. Dykehouse is a very good vet.  But for some reason he is 'snarky' to me, most recently today when I took my overweight cat in his annual exam plus other tests to see if there's a reason why I think he is in pain.  I know my 11 yr old cat is overweight, and I'm trying to resolve it given he will sneak around to the other cat food bowls (I have 3 cats) and eat their food.  I tried to have a conversation with the Dr. about what I'm doing, the good (so far) results I've had with his new food in that he's stopped constant vomiting and has lost .4 lb.  But Dr. just dismisses me with "Everytime I suggest a diet plan I get shot down.  I have no more time to discuss this."  and basically shot ME down, brought tears to my eyes, and makes me feel judged as a poor kitty mom.  When I went to pick up my cat, there's some sample food (Science Diet metabolic dry and wet, more expensive than what I'm doing now), so I guess he had some diet ideas after all.   I'm done with this vet.  I'll be moving my business and monies someplace else.  If you can do whatever he wants you to do and not expect to have a conversation exploring the alternatives, you'll be fine at this clinic. Argay Cat Clinic is the best.  My cats have going there for over 30 years.  Dr. Henry and his staff are caring and compassionate.  I like his conservative approach to treatment and how he lays out all of the treatment options for my consideration.  The clinic is great about getting us in for same day appointments in emergency situations.  Even though I live in the inner city, I don't mind driving to Parkrose to Argay Clinic.  S.S. The best vet I have ever been to. Dr Dykehouse always explains the medical options available for my ageing cat. At 18 years old, my cat Dusty has been going to Dr Dykehouse for 14 years. First cat I ever had the likes going to the vet. The staff is friendly, professional and always takes time to answer my questions. Prices are reasonable, care is excellent and the staff is friendly and caring. I recommend this clinic to anyone that wants professional, kind and reasonably priced healthcare for their felines.
