I really want to like this vet as they are 5 minutes from my house. First, the receptionist, borderline rude. Everytime. In person, and on the phone. I know it's procedure but they have to do an exam Everytime. Even if it's been within a month. And it's at least $50. I've spent over $150 in 3 months just on exams. Just to get her shots. And just when I thought I was through all her vaccines... Let's schedule you in 2 weeks to start another round of God knows what. They like to send you home with things you didn't ask for. I feel pressured to buy everything. The most unpleasant experience. Only one vet teck out of the whole staff seemed like he genuinely cared about animals. I wish I could remember his name. He was bigger guy with a long beard. The rest just felt they were trying to get through a sale. I'd hate to bring Saorsie back there. Gonna try to go back to Vista pet hospital on cannon Rd. We were over vaccinated and it seems staff will not admit to a mistake or take ownership of said over vaccination in turn blaming it on the county delays, myself, and the previous veterinarian. One should know their pets vaccines, but a good vet calls before administering. Veterinarian prices/visits are not cheap, so one would expect better service and competent staff in the industry. Peninsula Dog and Cat- absolutely in love with this clinic and the entire vet team! My husband and I brought our first dog here 8 years ago. They were wonderful then and now with our new dog, Hattie, they have been extremely helpful and supportive. Hattie was a street dog in Mexico and one of the veterinarians had worked with dogs from that area before and was super knowledgeable about common health problems that might manifest that are not found in the PNW (such as, valley fever). The staff are caring and unique, which makes it easy to trust them with Hattie and allow me the opportunity to ask questions freely without judgment about my ability as dog parent. This clinic helped us through hard times with our first dog and when they learned of her passing they were empathetic. They really love and care for animals. They are all very nice people who are eager to help you be the best pet owner you can be. They help you stay positive when you're dogs health isn't great and they are extremely knowledgeable. I took my cat, Archie, to the Banfield pet hospital 6 times in 2 months because his paws were painfully swollen. At Banfield, I never saw the same vet twice and I had to wait an hour to get into another waiting room, where I waited another 30 minutes to actually see the vet. After $700, 6 misdiagnoses and countless hours spent in their various waiting rooms, Archie could hardly walk and I was desperate to find answers. And then I found Dr. DeRemer's Peninsula Dog and Cat Clinic. After the first visit, he correctly diagnosed and treated my kitten's autoimmune disease. My kitten has to be treated with steroids to boost his immune system (which normally come in shots that have to be administered by the vet him/her self) every 1-2 months. But Dr. DeRemer had a pharmacy put together a liquid compound formula so I can treat my cat at home. Not only did he save my cat, but he also saved me a ton of money with the formula because I don't have to pay to see a vet every time my cat needs another treatment. Although not every disease can be treated in this fashion, I can guarantee that you will be treated fairly and your pet will be treated with the highest quality of care at the Peninsula Dog and Cat Clinic. I'll never go to another veterinarian, and neither should you. Read Less
