I absolutely love Dr. Howard and his staff. After 13 years of having a loyal and faithful companion and hiking buddy, I had to put my big guy to rest today. Lots of thanks to Linda for being so compassionate and letting us have those 5 more minutes with our old man, Wilby. Dr. H, thank you so much for letting him slip off to his final resting place so quietly. My heart hurts, but I can't imagine taking him anywhere else or to be seen by anyone else. Following several treatments, our little dog began to improve. It’s been over a year now and she sees Dr. Howard every 3 months to monitor and maintain her well-being. Our little dachshund/chihuahua guy, Woody, experienced a ruptured disc 4 years ago. Not only was he in howling, peeing pain, he could not use his hind legs. The first visit to Dr Howard for acupuncture really relieved his pain and with few more treatments he was not in pain and could walk normally. Since then, for about 4 years, we have taken him in for a chiropractic and acupuncture treatment about every 5 - 6 weeks. Dr. Howard is really good at this and so good with the animals. Woody has full functionality thanks to him and these treatments. They are a bit expensive but we don't like the option of not having our Woody. Highly recommended!! Read Less

I just wanted to Thank Dr. Howard and his assistants for their expertise and help, we feel like they are part of the family now! I feel so blessed to find a general veterinarian and one who also specializes in chiropractic and acupuncture and herbal remedies .. and has experience in Chinese philosophy, like CHI balance and energy in the body... We may have had to put Bandit down, because of the extreme pain he was in, He's a Whiner and very vocal.. you can see it in his eyes as well when he doesn't feel good.,lol. But I wanted to try chiropractic and acupuncture on him and I think that would have been the only thing that could have helped him. We brought Bandit (6) yrs. old, our Peke-poo in last year, when he was in extreme pain and his neck and back were in bad shape in about 3 places, he could not lay his neck down on the ground. They started with acupuncture and have been doing some chiropractic as well. After the first visit. He was feeling so much better and able to lay his head down. After the 3rd visit he wanted to race around. he is now being seen every 90 days just to make sure he has not re-injured himself. Mr. Timmer (8) yrs. old, Bandit's brother was having similar problems, but not as extreme, but he isn't quite as vocal and does not show pain the way Bandit does..He was lethargic and not wanting to move or follow us and went to lay down instead of going outside. So we brought him in and they are doing electric acupuncture, he is out to 90 days now as well. Barbie, (almost 10)yrs. old, their Mom has limped on occasion and favored her L front leg. They did some chiropractic and rest and she has not had to come back except for check-ups. They are all currently on a joint supplement and doing very well. Thank you all for your wonderful care and putting up with us.. and our intolerance to our pups having any pain.. For remembering our pups names and being truly concerned. I would love to show my dog pictures, but I am not sure how to do that? Thanks for everything. Our dogs have been patients of Dr Howard for over 20 years. Best Vet and staff EVER! I thought I would relate our most recent visit because it was kind of amusing but also indicative of Twin Oaks care. We took two of our dogs, Ziggy and Thora in. Ziggy just needed shots but this was the first time Thora had been to the vet since coming to live with us. All of our dogs have been large except Thora who is under 10 pounds. Our big dogs are used to Dr Howard and the staff. Going to the vet is always an adventure and they are always (ok generally) happy to be there. Our little dog Thora was a complete diva! Every time Dr Howard touched her she shrieked! I've never had a dog who squawked because someone gently raised her tail. (My ears hurt!) Dr Howard and the vet tech were awesome. They just patiently waited for each wave of panic to subside. She got her shots and all is well. It is typical of Twin Oaks that they called the next day to make sure she was ok. My husband assured them that is just part of her diva personality and that she was just fine. I trust Twin Oaks with our pets. I've never had a less than wonderful experience with them.Read Less
