We have been going to Whole Pet for 8 years now. They are always thoughtful about issues and love how they manage their waiting area. I have reactive dogs and I love that they try to make sure we have a clear path from an exam room to the door.

Dr. DeMarco is the best vet I have ever had. She has been examplary managing my two cats and me the neurotic cat lady. She listens, coaches, provides options and is always personable. Her staff are all wonderful as well. Highly recommend this practice

Would highly recommend this vet. Very loving in their care of your pet. Often times when you have to take your pet to the vet it's not for a good reason. You are sad, frustrated, grumpy, etc. Which if...
Would highly recommend this vet. Very loving in their care of your pet. Often times when you have to take your pet to the vet it's not for a good reason. You are sad, frustrated, grumpy, etc. Which if you don't have a kind compassionate team then it just makes it ten times worse.
The whole team, from the front desk to the vet tech to the vet herself, were extremely kind and compassionate with me. I just found out our cat has cancer and I was NOT in a good mood. I was short with them, frustrated, and on the verge of tears. The vet tech actually sat and cried with me. They weren't phased by my frustrated, grieving attitude. They offered compassion instead of adding insult to injury.
This team puts the health and wellness of your pet first before anything else. This clinic comes highly recommended by me.

I love these folks almost as much as my Akita Sam does. Dr Demarco and staff are excellent and I highly recommend the veterinary office.

I took my first dog to a different vet for 14 years. That vet always pressured us to spend more money on unnecessary things and tried to make us feel guilty if we ever said no. The rooms were always full of dog hair and were dirty. I witnessed staff with no tact/compassion wishing people to "Have a good day!" as they handed their pet's ashes to them. When her life was nearing the end I switched to Whole Pet to try and find a vet with some compassion so I wouldn't have to experience the same cold treatment. I wish I would've made the switch years ago! After my dog passed, they mailed me a condolence card. And when we got a new dog, they sent me a reminder of her booster shots on a postcard with my dog's picture! It was so clever and I keep the postcard at my desk at work because the picture of her was so cute. All of the staff at Whole Pet are compassionate and you can tell they care a lot about the animals they work with. They don't pressure you to spend money on unnecessary things and they're respectful of your wishes. Great place with a clean environment and a caring staff. Grateful I found them.

We have a mini doxie where is a rescue and has IVDD. I took her in today for her first acupuncture treatment today and I am sold on this clinic. My little senior p u p was so relaxed she nearly fell asleep. Great environment, friendly staff and what a fabulous vet. I will be taking my other doxies here for sure.

I cannot express my gratitude enough to Dr. Alis Fogarty and the vet technicians for taking special care of my dog Sammy and paying attention to his specific needs. They were more than willing to go above and beyond to make sure we received the best care. I felt very comfortable asking questions and voicing my concerns and was able to talk about possible alternatives. Dr.Alis Fogarty took the time to review a book with me that elaborated on a question I had, and printed off the section for my reference. She also was willing to research further on a question that I had. The atmosphere is inviting and the staff is truly caring and has our animals best interest at heart. I highly recommend their service for the most exceptional and personal care.

Dr. DeMarco at Whole Pet Veterinary Care in Salem integrates modern medicine and ancient wisdom. She's the only vet I know of in the area who not only has cutting edge traditional Western Veterinary equipment, but also uses alternative and traditional eastern medicine practices including acupuncture and herbal medicine to achieve amazing results. Her office is more like a comfortable home and my dog doesn't tremble when I open the door so he can walk in. Dogs just know when they're approaching a veterinary office and they can put the skids on and refuse to go in. Not here. Her staff is great too.

Would highly recommend this vet. Very loving in their care of your pet. Often times when you have to take your pet to the vet it's not for a good reason. You are sad, frustrated, grumpy, etc. Which if you don't have a kind compassionate team then it just makes it ten times worse.
