A stray cat was dying in my driveway and after trying to water and feed it with it not responding, I drove it to the nearest vet clinic...mohawk vet hospital. They told me to take it to a different clinic and when I refused because I had to get back to work, along with not being a courier service, the front desk girl threatened to call the cops on me...because I wouldn't taxi a dying cat somewhere else. I guess if I was dying and drove to the nearest clinic, they'd probably tell me to leave and drive somewhere else too. Pretty sad to turn away a dying cat when it is your job to help save animals. Dr. Laura and Miss Tracy have cared for all 5 of my dogs, and myself over the last 8 years. When it was time for two of my babies to head to the rainbow bridge they gave them such respect and tenderness and cried with me. Over the years I have seen each and every employee at Mohawk exceed expectations. They go above and beyond always putting the needs of their patient first. I would like to extend aspecial thank you to Tracy for always being cheerful and friendly when she answers the phone and for not smiling too big when she hands me my bill. And for helping me carry in cat crates without me asking for help.Somehow she knows the minute I arrive in the parking lot. The Vet Tech. I know the best is JayCee, who saved a near death kitten for me by taking the kitten home with her to assess it every two hours during the night. Kitten woke up about 3:00 AM out of whatever kind of coma it was in. and turned out to be an absolutely fine.I just hate to call an adotive parent and have to return their deposit because their chosen pet became ill and passed over to Rainbow Bridge. Their website says to "drop by any time for excellent service." So I went in with my 2 month old puppy for his first checkup. The receptionist never smiled and told me they only do appointments. When I told her their website says they do she said "oh, well our website's been acting up recently." Come on. Websites are not hard to update. She also mentioned there was only one doctor on staff there so it could be difficult to get an appointment or good attention, but I was so put off by the receptionist that I simply took my service elsewhere.Read Less

They're very quick to take you in, since it's a small clinic. It's not the nicest looking place. The vet insinuated/and or made us feel like our furry friend was in questionable care. As far as price goes, I am not sure if it was unfair or overpriced. This is the first place we've gone. Definitely going elsewhere next time. Read Less

Took my 2 small dogs there to get vaccines updated and to have a paw looked at. Talked to the vet for a while about a few general health things and I didn't feel rushed at all, even though I was almost 20 mins late to my appointment and had 2 dogs with me! I don't think I even leave my own doctors office with all my questions answered!  I really feel like it was a conversation. My last vet (in San Diego) was nice, but it was more of a one-way talk where she would lecture me. This was a lot more comfortable and I didn't leave with a bunch of prescriptions my little guy doesn't need. This will definitely be our vet in the future. We saw Dr. Melissa...I don't remember her last name!! Oh, and it didn't take a long time to get an appointment. My vet in San Diego was always booked out AT LEAST a week...this one I called on Monday and had a Wednesday morning appointment. Read Less

The veterinarians are great. But because of the vet assistants, I will not go back. The first time I took my kitty there, I was treated like I was the worst pet parent b/c my kitty is overweight. I explained that I feed him less than the recommended amount on the package but I still was berated by the assist. I left feeling awful. I returned a month later for my pets booster shot and the experience was no better. When it was time to go in the back, the assistant open the door and without saying a word, snatched the pet carrier up, letting the door slam in my face as she headed to the back. I open the door to follow her and was told I could not go back. 2 reasons why I had a problem with this? 1st Assuming it was ok to separate me from my baby, maybe if I was prepared by simply letting me know what was going on. Then maybe it wouldnt be half as bad. 2nd How do I know he got the shot I paid for?Read Less

It was a bit of a wait to finally get my kitty in, but once they came in, they were great!  I liked how they handled him.  So calm and gentle.  He's generally not so happy with new people, but he did great!  The prices were very reasonable as well.  I would recommend this clinic! Read Less

The vets here are wonderful, the office is small, older-looking, clean, and not over-staffed. The prices were extremely fair, the doctor and her tech were kind and loved my dog. This clinic is not overly-fancy, though they do have access to advanced technology (ultrasound, etc). They were thorough, conservative in recommendations, and did not try to talk me into a bunch of extra testing or treatments.I can't recommend them highly enough. I only wish we'd found them sooner! This hospital has gone above and beyond my expectations!! I am on low income and asked them in tears and fear for my kittys life if they could help me financially and they DID! They are not in any way shape or form greedy or uncaring and in fact, quite the contrary! I've even been helped over the phone regarding things to look for, when I should be worried and when not to be. Very nice helpful people.  My whole family takes their dogs and cats to see the doctors at Mohawk Vet Hospital.   The clinic isn't as fancy as some of them but their prices are incredibly reasonable.  I would rather pay for good veterinary care and not to support some big fancy clinic. Read Less
