The staff were nice, but the way they run things makes the place feel money hungry. My first appointment was okay. I asked if my tiny yorkie can have his nails clipped (less than 5 minutes of time) and they said of course, but didn't tell me there would be a fee until I was checking out, although I should've asked if that was included in the physical or not. However, I thought I'd give them another chance. My next appointment was specifically a VACCINE ONLY appointment ($20) and they managed to get the bill up to $135. Staff communication from visit to visit seems poor and unorganized, as they didn't take it as a vaccine only appointment. They also constantly push meds and all sorts of things which truly aren't necessary. Needless to say we will not be going back. Pretty upset how they add things without asking or telling me, and then slamming me with a huge bill. I look forward to a new vet that puts animals over the money.

Stay away from this place they can and will take you for every penny you have. They did it to me. I took my dog in to see Dr. DeWess, and what should have cost me $100.00 - $150.00 turned out to be over $1,500.00. All that money and every penny was for nothing. I'm just lucky my dog survived. My dog survived thanks to the animal emergency hospital due to the overdose of pain medication she didn't need. I would never have my dog treated by these people again. Beware!!

If you need to help your pet cross the rainbow bridge go here. It's very different from other vets offices in the process, I feel like it makes it more bearable. My dog just passed there today and I'm really happy with how the process went because it helped me say goodbye to my little best friend the right way. The room they have set up for it is very calm and quiet with dim lighting so you can ugly cry in peace and they have tissues and a little fountain and a rocking chair. I'll miss my dog for the rest of my life but at least I know she was surrounded by love when she crossed.

They are great! They are one of the most expensive vets in Springfield but they are thorough and have met my needs Everytime. We did run into a vet we didn't like when we first went there, she stank of cigarettes and tried to up sell us every time. She didn't take our opinion into account with our dog. If our opinion differed she would treat us poorly. we quickly switched. They have multiple doctors working there so no problem finding a veterinarian we liked. The techs are awesome!

I started using McKenzie Animal Hospital earlier this year for our new pet rabbit. So far we've had one regular exam, neutering, and an emergency visit this week for a broken foot. I am very pleased with the caring service that we've gotten here.
I see other reviews expressing displeasure at the prices. I don't know exactly where this clinic falls on the price scale, but I do know that it's the only veterinary clinic in Eugene/Springfield that comes recommended by the Oregon Rabbit Advocates Society. That's the reason I chose this clinic initially, but the excellent care that my rabbit has received here is the reason I will keep coming back here.

I took my cat here twice and was shocked to find out how much I over paid. If you bring in a cat that is stressed at all they will charge you for the visit and tell you to bring the cat back later all doped up. They were very rude to my husband and I about my cat being over weight even though we have her on a timed feeder and she is given the proper amount of food. They acted like we force feed her pizza and beer. Also don't be surprised if they look at you like a criminal if you feed them friskies or any other normal brand that would be at a regular store. If you treat your pets like pets and not royalty you should go somewhere else.

I brought my dog in on an emergency. And after having been turned away by Companion Animal Clinic I was very relieved to have been welcomed by such wonderful and caring people. I mean they had a whole team running out like code blue in a cardiology unit! As opposed to C.A.C. who refused to even check my dogs heartbeat! They kept me informed on my pet, answered all of my questions and were very compassionate, realizing Rodney was apart of my family. And even gave a call the next morning to check on Rodney. Thank you so much for all of your loving care. We will definitely be back.

If you want the most expensive vet in town go here. My first suspicion was when they estimated spaying costs for our miniture Schnauezer to" range" from $236.70 low and $605.34 high. We got the job the done for $130.00 including a microchip ID implant. They dropped the ball on notification for the one year Rabies Booster. We got notified two years after the fact. They then insisted on $70.00+ "wellness examination check" for routine shots like distemper and rabies making the trip for two shots over $100.00. We wanted to refill the flea meds and they insist on a $70.00+ "wellness check" again. Needless to say we have gone somewhere else.

The staff were nice, but the way they run things makes the place feel money hungry. My first appointment was okay. I asked if my tiny yorkie can have his nails clipped (less than 5 minutes of time) and they said of course, but didn't tell me there would be a fee until I was checking out, although I should've asked if that was included in the physical or not. My dog just passed there today and I'm really happy with how the process went because it helped me say goodbye to my little best friend the right way. They are great! They are one of the most expensive vets in Springfield but they are thorough and have met my needs Everytime. We did run into a vet we didn't like when we first went there, she stank of cigarettes and tried to up sell us every time. She didn't take our opinion into account with our dog. I brought my dog in on an emergency. And after having been turned away by Companion Animal Clinic I was very relieved to have been welcomed by such wonderful and caring people.
