We have been to this clinic a couple of times and each time we have received exceptional care. On our latest visit our dog felt comfortable with everyone at the clinic and absolutely loved Dr. O’Loughlin! I can not say enough about Dr. O’Loughlin‘s way with animals, some people just have a gift and he definitely does! He is extremely informative and takes the time to listen and answer questions. Our experience with this place has been amazing. I cant say enough good things about them. We were recommended here when our cat needed an emergency surgery over a weekend. The staff were more than great to us. They made us feel very comfortable over the 4 days our cat was getting cared for. We were able to visit a few times and they were always happy to accommodate our cats needs. Unlike just about any other place I've been they were not rushed. The on call doctors were very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything and answer all of our questions. The office and visiting rooms were cleaned after every use and everyone was professional. They require a deposit that covers half the estimated costs. Depending on your surgery expect to spend allot at your first visit. In our experience a surgery and recovery here is not going to be cheap but for everything they do I would highly recommend them. The worst place to take your pet, they don't care. I brought my dog here as she was very ill and having seizures. The receptionist was extremely cold with no concern what so ever. They put us in a room and we were there for about 15 min while my dog was foaming out of mouth and very ill. The doctor finally came in while training somebody also. I informed him my dog has cancer and he said I could run all these tests but I could also put her down. I felt putting her down was the best option but one of the hardest choices I've ever had to make. I didn't want her to be in pain and have seizures all the time. He starts talking about remains and trying to rush everything, I asked if I could let him know in morning as it was 11pm and he said NO. He also asked if I wanted to say my goodbyes and I said yes but they would not give me the TIME and just kept hovering over me trying to rush the process. I felt extremely rushed during this sad situation and it blows me away that this place shows no concern or even care at all. So as I'm crying hyperventilating the receptionist who cared less about anything just wanted my money and pretty much kicks you to curb. This place is a huge NIGHTMARE that nobody should have to experience when there dog is dying If I could give them zero stars I would - They have no compassion for there animals or customers!!! During the 4th of July weekend my rabbit became extremely ill overnight. Towards the end of the day I knew something was wrong and called many vets around the Vancouver area. Of course many were not open because of the holiday and many did not have their "exotic animal doctor on staff". Lucky I called this emergency vet and they told me to bring her right in. It was a far drive but after my visit I knew I made the right decision. Unfortunately I had to put my baby bunny down. She had only hours to live and was suffering. Dr. Sadreddin was very comforting and informative. It my was a sad horrific day however; I felt at peace knowing she wasn't suffering anymore. Thank you Emergency Vet Clinic of Tualatin!! About a month ago, our vet prescribed Cyclosporine for our 20 lb dog. She had an adverse reaction to it and started panting, pacing, was really anxious, and was trying to vomit. I called and they gave me the best and FREE advice any vet has given us......take her for a slow walk and if that doesn't help and she is still acting strange in a couple hours, bring her in. Well, it worked! The woman that answered the phone, I cannot thank you enough! I called the next day to find out who it was but the woman that answered said it could've been a couple people, so at any rate, I just want to thank you and the rest of the team there. We have been there a couple times with our dog and have always appreciated the staff, but this advice saved us another vet visit, which was really appreciated as we are going through a specialist and have incurred a bunch of debt trying to get her better. Not sure how this place has such a good rating. Very poor quality staff. Lied to me and tried to be sneaky and get me to sign the consent to treatment form when I never did because I didn't have the money for treatment. I told the I had no money and wanted no tests done, the nurse " felt bad" and said she'd take my 7 week old puppy back to get a professional opinion atleast for me free of charge, takes him back, does the blood gousoce test and then tried to charge me for the " exam" and test. Place is a joke looking to make a dollar off anyone. They don't care about you or your pet. Read Less

We spent Easter morning at the Tualatin Emergency Vet with our pup. Everyone was amazingly kind and respectful to both us and our dog. She is a pit rescue and is terrified of being handled, and the Vet (Dr. Andy) and techs were incredibly understanding and patient with her. They listened to us about what works for her, never tried to push her boundaries, and utilized us with her care so we could be as successful as possible without traumatizing her too much. Our little Papillon who is 4.5 pounds managed to find a chocolate bar in my daughters purse. It was a big dark chocolate espresso bar and she was half way through it when we caught her. We live in Tualatin and were able to get her there very quickly. They induced vomiting and gave her meds to lower her heart rate. She stayed the night and was home the next morning. I was frantic and upset and they did everything to help her. They talked to me and I understood everything that was going on. They called me and gave me an update and I called in the middle of the night to check on her. They were sooooo nice and they took amazing care of our smallest family member. Prices were not as bad as I thought (never had to see an emergency vet before). I just can't say how much I appreciate them and how calm, understanding and you can tell they love animals. I will have their phone number in my contacts and hope I never need to use them again. But if I do, they got her in asap and took great care of her. Thank you so much to the Doctor's and Staff!!! My pup was deathly ill and my primary vet admitted us into the emergency clinic immediately. I was scared to death I would lose my baby. The doctor explained what was wrong with him in great detail to be sure I understood. The girls stayed with him all night so he wouldn't be alone and they made him all better. I have only had one experience with Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin, but it was an experience that impressed me enough to write this review. We had to rush our dog to this clinic just a couple of weeks ago in the early morning hours, as her stomach had twisted over night, and she was clearly in distress. I was an absolute mess and probably not making much sense, as I knew her time with us was coming to an end. The staff acted quickly and was extremely patient with me as I tried to explain the symptoms. We worked directly with Dr. Jonathan Wisniewksi, who was straight forward but compassionate. He provide us with options, but we determined putting our girl down was the best choice for her and our family. It is the worst decision anyone ever has to make, but Dr. Wisniewksi and his team comforted us throughout the entire process. They even allowed us to be with her to say our final goodbyes. On top of the in person care we received, we ended up receiving a hand written condolence card from Dr. Wisniewski just a few days later. I was blown away and it meant so much to our family. Great doctors, very knowledgeable and nice. It's awesome they're open late. Even though they're a ER for pets, their prices for regular testing is overpriced. We got a quote from another location for easily half the price for the same tests. It's a good spot for a last resort. When we decided to go to another place, they made a big deal about it and the younger receptionist was SUPER rude about it and seemed surprised we didn't get treatment for her there. We asked them to send our tests and documents to another vet and she was very rude about it. We paid for those tests and had every right to shop around. The doctors did their best to keep prices down and helped us on a few things regarding the testing. I'm sad it ended on such a bad note because of the receptionist. This is a great place to go, but shop around if you have the time to make a proper decision. Read Less

I wish I was writing this review with our Barkley by my side. Sadly he passed away Saturday morning. The care and attention he received at the end by the staff was the very best we could ask for. In the truest sense, this was an emergency at 5am on a Saturday. We had called and they were literally waiting for us. It was time to send our beloved Muppet to kitty heaven. We were referred to Emergency Vet of Tualatin by our usual vet who was not open on weekends. I was grateful for their flexible hours. Making this choice was soooo hard, but we were treated with such kindness, and the office was so very clean and comfortable. The vet introduced himself as Andy, and he was so gentle with our little girl. He put us at ease and the process was a peaceful one. The gal at the front desk was friendly and efficient with the necessary paperwork and quickly getting us in to a room with a big comfy couch. These guys are amazing, they're so friendly and so helpful! My poor kittie couldn't go to the bathroom (which can be fatal) so I took him to go see them. The front desk staff is really nice, they got me into a room really quickly, and you could see they really cared about the comfort of my cat while taking his vitals.The doctor was very friendly as well, listened to all of my comments and concerns. We decided together the best thing to do for my kittie & we've been seeing steady improvement in him.Since he now has to be on a special diet, they gave us a bunch of samples of different kinds of food so my kittie can pick what he likes best. I would give them 10 stars if I could!!!Our 11 year old Schnauzer suddenly developed breathing difficulties on New Years night, and we had to rush her to the Tualatin Emergency Vet. They were so kind and understanding from the minute we walked in. The vet took chest X-rays and explained his findings in great detail... our beloved dog had a large cancerous mass and her lungs were filled with fluid. He told us all of our options, and he agreed with us that it was best to not let her suffer any longer. Not only was he caring and understanding at the time, but he sent us a sympathy card, which we received a few days later. Took my mini poodle here on a Sunday evening after she was involved in a squabble over a ball with another little dog. While not in obvious pain (mostly because she's tough), she was definitely in a lot of discomfort, had blood coming from her mouth, a weird head movement and clicking noise coming from her mouth. She was quickly diagnosed with a "small scrape" on her gums and given an antibiotic shot and our concerns about the clicking noise were dismissed as her just having bad teeth and needing a dental. At checkout we asked about a pain killer and the receptionist looked at us as if we were trying to score them for ourselves and we were told she didn't require any. Long story short, 5 days later I took her into her regular vet, and it was determined that her jaw was severely dislocated, possibly broken, and would require surgery. How this was missed by a veterinarian doctor, when my husband (who is far from a doctor), diagnosed it correctly minutes after the dog fight, is beyond me. Read Less

If I could give them zero stars, I would. DO NOT TAKE DEHYDRATED PUPPIES HERE!!!We took our 2 month old puppies here. They had been out all day with me hiking (they were in a front pack) and had not drank any water. They were lethargic and had trouble, a lot of trouble, standing on their own. We tried Pedialyte and broth with them first and had to force it down their throats. We checked in and filled out paperwork at about 7pm on a Saturday night. The waiting room and the parking lot were packed with sick animals. With puppies who haven't completed their shot series, this was a major concern for me and my husband. The puppies were not looking any better and had urinated on us several times while we were waiting because they were so lethargic that they couldn't even wake up enough to let us know they needed to potty. After about another 15 minutes, the receptionist took us into an exam room. She immediately asked if our dogs had gotten into anything. We said we didn't think so and I said they had been hiking on Larch Mountain with me that day but I didn't notice anything. She proceeded to tell us that she thought our dog had gotten into some marijuana. The way she said it was that she thought it was our marijuana. My husband and I don't smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol, let alone marijuana so you could imagine how horrified we were. When we denied it, she told us that our dog looks like a "drug dog" and left the room. We waited for at least 20 minutes. It was almost 9pm at this point. When it became clear our dogs would die before getting the help they needed, we called Lake Oswego Emergency vet clinic and checked on wait times. THERE WAS NO ONE WAITING literally 5 miles away. We left the Tualatin clinic immediately and made a scene in the waiting area where the RECEPTIONIST who had diagnosed our dogs' problem denied it in front of a full waiting room, of course.We will NEVER, NEVER be going back here and I urge everyone else not to as well.Our dogs could have died because they allow a receptionist to triage patients rather than a qualified individual. The receptionist, vet techs and vet were all wonderful! Our 9 month old puppy, Gus had a hot spot (it's my first dog, so I kinda freaked out) and they took really good care of him. They didn't make us feel dumb or bad about showing up emotional. The vet was friendly and understanding and all of the directions they sent us home with were clear and concise. Dr. O'Loughlin is the doc who saw my cat, he was amazingly kind and caring and thorough with his exam. I came at 8pm when I noticed my cat's face was half paralyzed, the clinic was able to fit me in without much of a wait and Dr. O'Loughlin worked with me to come up with a game plan to get my cat better. Not only that, but they alerted my cat's primary care vet which has helped me remember how we solved this facial paralysis issue last time it happened 3 years ago. The first time I came here was in 2010 with my cat. He had an abscessed anal gland (which turns out wasn't that big of a deal) but the vet took great care of my cat, was incredibly kind, and explained everything so well to me. About a week and a half ago I called around 7am on a Sunday morning in absolute hysterics because my cat was dying. I rushed him up there and because they had me on file from 2010, they told me not to bother finishing the paperwork and to go be with my cat. They took him back IMMEDIATELY and even though there was nothing they could do for him they let me hold him while he passed in a private room and let me take my time. When I picked up his ashes tonight they were again very compassionate. While I hope not to frequent this office, they are wonderfully kind people and I'm glad they're there when the situation arises.Read Less
