They are so great with our dogs who can be challenging. We also received so much support when our old dog passed away last year. My pets are well cared for at Woodburn Pet Hospital! The doctors take time to listen to me and really check out my cats' situation. They are always patient and respectful with both myself and my animals, which I really appreciate. They have been able to address some tricky situations totally successfully. Started here recently due to concerns with my previous vet. And our cat had an emergency, having to have surgery to fix his paw. Took opportunity to have him neutered as well. We've since taken our other animals there. Prices are very reasonable, medication prices better priced then our precious vets. The staff is GREAT!! Took Charlie in on a Saturday morning without an appointment and was squeezed in to see a Doctor . Who checked my dog out and wrote prescription. He is feeling better already. I would recommend taking your pet here because staff cares about my concerns and my dog's well being and they are happy and energetic which tells me that they like working there. Woodburn Pet Hospital is the best kitten care place that I know of in my area. They have a 2 story room dedicated to cats to stay in while I'm away. Windows to look out at traffic and people. The staff is great.This isn't my kitty but it is the kitty holster I use on my cat. Works too. Read Less

When I took my dogs there for check ups we waited for over half an hour just to see a vet tech who then had to relay everything to the vet (taking another 30 minutes). After a long appointment we had to get medication for our dogs. We paid for everything and then they realized they didn't have what we had paid for, so I had to go back to the vet a week later in order to pick up medication where I (once again) had to wait a ridiculously long time for someone to help me so I could leave. Since visiting we adopted out one of our dogs and our other dog passed away. When I called to ask them to stop mailing us notifications for the dogs the gentleman was rather tactless about handling the loss of our dogs. 1. Watching Dr. Paradis euthanize my old dog has caused me long lasting trauma. Watching him fumble around causing my dog great pain and suffering and finally admitting we needed to go to his office was far worse that watching a convict die of a lethal injection! 2. 3. Dr. Pardis arrived at my an hour earlier than agreed, without calling. He did not have the equipment necessary to euthanize my big dog. He asked for scissors. Although provided with the information, he didn't know my dog's name or his weight, or he would have brought some help! After four very painful tries, he was not able to put my big old dog to sleep as promised. My dog was yelping and crying. 4. 5. I worked for the last five years to keep my dog happy and comfortable. Luther, my dog, got insulin shots twice a day and never even flinched. Dr. Paradis said this procedure wouldn't cause any more pain than an ordinary shot. I will never be able to forget my dog's yelps from pain, not once, but four times. Member Comments: Dr. Paradis told me he would need to take Luther to his office. He loaded him into his truck, using the dog's tail to lift his back end. Dr. Paradis evidently had the equipment there that he needed. My dog went to sleep after another very painful shot. I stayed with my old boy for awhile, unable to move, due to extreme anguish. I could hardly breathe. I wish the doctor could have been more caring and compassionate. He explained nothing and barely spoke. This is not the way I wanted my old friend to die. The room where I was with my dog had a window. Every time I looked up, a lady at the counter was staring at me. She would not look away. Her staring made me so uncomfortable and embarrassed me. I DON"T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO SUFFER LIKES I DID! About a year and a half ago, one of my male cats could not urinate because he developed crystals in his urine tract. We took him to an emergency vet in Tualatin to get him checked out and get a catheter in him. Unfortunately, we had to do this a few times and after a few late nights at the emergency vet, we realized we had to get him into surgery or otherwise put him down (no thanks!). A vet at the emergency hospital said that he would contact Dr. Paradis at the Woodburn Pet Hospital to talk to him about the surgery. We went in early in the morning, right when they open (we live about 20 minutes outside of Portland), and found that there was some miscommunication and that Dr. Paradis did not know that we were coming in for a surgery. That did not deter them from helping us, and once Dr. Paradis came in, we immediately called us back and talked to us and agreed to doing surgery that day! Not only did this hospital save my cat, but they made sure we were taken care of despite the mix-up.When my cat came out of surgery, they gave me a courtesy call and let me know he was out of surgery, doing fine, and that they would keep him for about a week just for observation.They also do cat boarding (I don't know about dogs), and have the most friendly waiting area cat that hops right on your lap. Dr. Paradis, Teresa and Dr. Beth are AWESOME! Dr. Paradis saved my male cat from a urethra issue that would have took his life. The price was a quarter of what you pay in California. Dr. Paradis has a big heart for animals and helps you make the best decision that is best for the animal. Teresa at the front desk has excellent customer service and is a real sweetheart. Dr Paradis and his group have been our veterinarian for over 25 years. We love him-kind, competent, always available and an amazing surgeon. We have felt so fortunate to have found him; he has seen us through multiple dogs and their myriad of different problems - being run over by tractors, pancreatic cancer, malignant melanoma, seizures and salmon poisoning as well as the routine wellness exams and care. Most expensive vet clinic in town.  It costs about double what the other vets in Woodburn charge.  It is just a large clinic and not a real hospital.  Staff isn't the most friendly or helpful.  Really depends on who you get.  They have weekend hours, but don't depend on one actually being there. We just moved to town and started seeing Dr. Beth. She is so realistic in providing care. Our previous vet would send in a woman we nicknamed the "the $5,000 cat lady" to guilt trip us into everything! We were expecting a laundry list of costly considerations after our first visit but instead we left with a happy pooch who was just late on a couple vaccines. We returned a few weeks later to get those vaccines on 50% off day and my son had a blast in the little play area and petting the big fuzzy cat in the waiting room.
