I feel that I am now qualified to write a review for this pet hospital, having recently been there many times in the last few months. As you know, I have two cats now, and recently they've had some serious issues. Beckham, my black and white, had a strange lesion on his lip. The veterinarian, Dr. Schindler, as well as the staff there, treated Beckham very well. He's a tough cat to get on well with, and they were professional and confident around him, which is important if you don't want to get scratched or bitten. Especially when he's out of sorts! The first visit didn't get the best results, so I had to bring him back in for another shot, and that one did the trick. He's much better now, and his lip is getting back to normal. It seems to have been an allergic reaction to something, though we aren't sure what.Jimmy Boo, my brown tabby, had more serious issues. He recently had stopped going to the bathroom. I was so concerned with the possibility of impaction that I hadn't noticed that he hadn't urinated, either. I called the vet and as it was after 7 pm, they told me to get him to the Valley Center Emergency Pet Clinic right away. I was at work, so I had my boyfriend take him. If we hadn't taken him then, he might not be alive now. The next morning, I picked him up from Valley Center and took him to LVAH, where they were expecting him. They admitted him and then called me with an update. They said that his kidneys had almost shut down and that he was dehydrated. Valley Center had taken care of the crystals in his urinary tract, but he still hasn't out of the woods. They were going to keep him overnight. Dr. Witiak encouraged me to visit him any time. I couldn't until the next day after work... and it was obvious that he had charmed much of the staff there... he is really an affectionate and sweet cat. However, he had to stay another night because they were still seeing blood in his urine and he wasn't staying hydrated, though he had an IV drip in. My boyfriend visited him after work that night, too, after I'd already gone. He said that they gave him a further update on Jimmy... and he was going to be okay.Dr. Witiak called me a couple times to give me updates and was always friendly and positive. Jimmy Boo was in great hands. I picked him up yesterday afternoon, as they didn't want him out before they'd weaned him off the IV drip. And when I got there, they had him make the rounds to say goodbye to the staff, who liked him a lot. (I'm not surprised in the least.) The cost for saving my cat was entirely worth it, and to be honest, not as expensive as I thought it would be. Maybe because we'd already had to pay a LOT for the emergency care... still, it was worth it. I love my cats, and I'm so happy to have them home and healthy and happy again!Thank you, LVAH doctors and staff. You guys are awesome!! Read Less
