Chippewa Animal Hospital

My dog has been going there for all of her 12 years. She loves her visits and still looks and acts like a puppy. I feel it is because the doctors and employees treat her well. they don't push vaccines and that's good because she was allergic to the first ones she received. She does get regular adjustments from Dr. Maro and we believe it keeps her young and active. She is a Labrador and has no arthritis. My husband and are on a fixed income and the Dr. always works with our budget to do what we can afford. we are so happy to have found such a great vet, and so close. We love seeing the other pets and meeting their parents, who come from hours away (we met people from Altoona and Maryland who drive to see Dr. Maro). I hate when people don't use these review sites to rate service, care and knowledge. If they used those measures, there is no way this place and group should have less than 5 stars all the way. I have seen the reviews and I was very surprised! I have been going to Chippewa Animal Hospital and Dr. Maro ever since the Chippewa office opened. I have taken many pets there and I can't say enough about the care they have given my pets over the years. Of course, all vet practices are for-profit, so that isn't even the issue. There were times I could not afford all the recommended tests/procedures, and I would always ask what is the most important, and we would go from there. I had a dog with multiple issues that lived much longer than predicted and that was absolutely because of Dr. Maro. Also, I have found them to be caring and compassionate - all the technicians have known my pets and have treated them like their own - decreasing the fear factor of going to the vet. While I understand that sometimes money is an issue, and I know that can cause an owner to feel guilty because they cannot afford the care their animal may need, but that is in no way a reflection on the veterinarian. I am extremely happy with the care I have received and will continue to go to Dr. Maro as long as she is in business or as long as I am alive! Read Less

Dr Maro worked miracles with our two dogs. Sofie our lab had matastic breast cancer and was seen as an emergency patient. She went into remition for 14 months using only alternative medicine. Her remaining months were happy and comfortable without side effects. Read Less

My family and I have only had positive experiences with Dr. Maro and wonderful staff. Everyone cares very deeply for your pets and their wellbeing. If it wasn't for Dr. Maro and her staff my mother dog willow would have passed away while trying to give birth. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my pets lives. And, they can work with costs. These wonderful souls care, no one else has given up their entire weekend for my dog and her now 2 pups. Read Less

Dr. Maro is awesome. She is very competent and puts your pet first. She does very comprehensive exams . Being thorough can mean much testing which she will discuss with you before doing. She has provided my fur babies excellent care and discounts when testing costs were climbing. She is one of a few vets that provide holistic care which I recommend highly as a first approach. Yes, her care is expensive, but I want the best for my fur babies. It is up to the owner to decide what they can afford and what is most important. Read Less

We began seeing Dr. Mario about 14 years ago for food allergies our sheltie had. She helped her overcome them all and live a very long life. Between her, Dr. Anelu, and Dr. Wong we have had excellent care for all of our four legged furry children. We have tried other vets in the area in the past, but have had outstanding care with Dr. Maro. We highly recommend anyone to any of the animal hospital locations. Read Less

We took our dog to Dr. White for the first time a few days ago. We were concerned that he was on his last days since he is 13. Even though he was contrary, they took such good care of him. They don't push expensive treatments and procedures that are not necessary. The care plan they started has made all the difference in the world and we are happy that our dog is on his way to getting his health back!! Read Less

I found Dr. Maro through an online search for veterinary specialists. I attended the Grand Opening of the Cranberry location and took a tour of the facility. Not long after this, I brought my 10 year old German Shorthaired Pointer, Ace, in for a full evaluation/consultation with Dr. Maro. He has arthritis and a dislocated shoulder and I wanted to see what options were available to help him as much as I possibly can. I have never had a veterinarian who is more thorough than Dr. Maro (and her staff as well). Dr. Maro asked alot of questions and really listened to my answers. This began a series of treatments for Ace including blood work, acupuncture, rainbow treatments, laser therapy, an echocardiogram and a CAT scan. Every time we go to the office for one of Ace's treatments every member of the staff knows who Ace is and they greet him by name. They are so great with him. It is always very easy to get an appointment and I have regularly gotten next day appointments for his treatment sessions. I would recommend anyone (and I have given recommendations to my friends) to Dr. Maro and Cranberry Holistic Pet Care. As a result of the treatments Ace has received, he has become like a new dog. He is so much more mobile than before, he is running again, you can actually see it on his face that he's so much happier than before. My 12 year old pit bull mix Dante was unable to bear weight on his left hind leg. After a visit to his regular vet we had no answers to what the problem could be. I found Dr. Maro through an Internet search. Dante has been coming to see her for 4 weeks now and he is better than ever. His leg is much better and they also treated his heart murmur. The staff and Dr's are amazing and so friendly. They explain everything and offer different options that most vets don't offer. I will be bringing Dante here from now on. Read Less

My husband and I have gone to several different vets, as we've moved around from many different states. We can honestly say that Dr. Maro and her staff are the best that we have experienced! They have taken interest in our dog, Nakoma, and when we walk in the door for an appointment, everyone greets her by name. Nakoma is genuinely excited to enter the doors of the office, something rarely seen when any of our past dogs went to the vet. The office truly cares for the animals they serve and want to meet their needs. I cannot express my gratitude for one visit in particular. My husband and I got appointment times mixed up and missed our appointment on a Saturday morning. The technician called to follow up about our missed appointment and stayed open an extra hour past closing so that we could bring Nakoma in for her treatment. Not every Veterinarian office would do that! We would definitely (and have on several occasions to our friends) recommend Dr. Maro and all the workers at Cranberry Holistic Pet Care to take care of your pet's health.Read Less

Dr Maro is the most wonderful Veterinarian I could possibly hope for! Her skills as a Holistic Vet never cease to amaze me! The compassion and friendliness Dr Maro and her whole staff have is simply the best! Seem to only be after $$$. Come in with one issue & that soon turns into another possibly life threatening problem complete with expensive tests needed weekly! $3000 later, I must admit I feel duped. They wanted me to come in every other day!! Words like "mass," "cancer," "organ failure" are all thrown at you, seemingly to scare you. Sure, to scare as much money as possible from my wallet! My own research, vitamins, supplements made my cat get better, only to become sicker after each treatment there, which suspiciously are not allowed to be observed by the owner of the pet. This applies to all their locations. They're for wealthy people, really wealthy people, not average folks. Oh well. Read Less

If you live in the Cranberry area, I would highly recommend Dr. Maro and the staff at Cranberry Holistic Pet Care. Dr. Maro has taken care of my pets (dogs, cats, ferrets) for many, many years. I trust her implicitly with the health and lives of my fur babies! She has taken me through some very difficult times with them and has always provided them with great care and gentle treatment. I took my Yorkie into have him checked when we first got him it was one thing after another 500 here 600 here they talked me into goats milk he wouldn't eveneat it I have never been to place that all they worry about is money . I took my 11 year old Shepard lab mix to Chippewa animal hospital because he lost all mobility in his hind legs. Blood work and X-rays done. He was diagnosed with lymes disease. Was given meds and probiotics. My dog ended up being allergic to the meds and broke out in hives which resulted in him itching scratching and chewing himself to shreds. At the follow up appointment, Dr.Maro said well he's having a reaction to something, let's try something else. Well the only thing he could be allergic to is what was he prescribed, Again more $$ and meds. Still nothing was helping him. I called and asked for the antibiotics to be switched, they did that however, it was basically the same medicine, just its sister drug. Still, nothing was helping, I asked about giving Benadryl, and she said no, without a reason. My poor dog is literally crawling out of his skin. Needless to say, I gave Benadryl anyways. This morning I said enough is enough, she knew my dog was allergic to the meds so you prescribe him the sister medicine?? This place is a rip off and frankly I don't think she knows what she is doing. I had my dogs record transferred to another vet. I went to the new vet this morning, and they are shocked that Dr.Maro didn't give him pain meds to help him calm down and asked why would she put him on a sister drug that is going to react the same way. The new vet is compassionate and wants my dog to improve and not just take my money and have my dog suffer. DO NOT GO TO THIS VET!! She is money hungry and frankly doesn't care. Read Less

I was so disappointed to find out that Dr. Maro is only concerned about the money. My ex-husband has paid about three thousands dollars over the last 2 months for treatments and some medicine for our dog who has anal cancer. He asked if he could be billed for his last appointment to be paid in the next couple of weeks and was sent away without any concern or treatment for the sick dog. All of their services, medications, and even pet supplies are ridiculously overpriced. THIS A FOR PROFIT BUSINESS ONLY! They also seem driven to recommend long term and even alternative treatments and services in order to continue milking their customers for cash. Also, I felt like they were using "guilt" as a leverage tool to persuade me into purchasing additional unnecessary and very expensive tests and services for my sick pet.
