We are moving and have to leave this wonderful team of vets. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They are always caring and explain what the problem is and how best to address it. After two years at my vet, I needed to find a new office to take my dog. I read reviews on Yelp and called on my lunch break. I spoke with L, who was very nice and I felt like she was really listening to me. I went by after work to drop off a stool sample, and I was called 2 hours later. We took our family dog of 9 years here since she was a puppy. A year ago she was diagnosed with cancer on one of her toes. They recommended amputation of the toe and assured us they caught it early and it was unlikely to return. A week ago yesterday we brought her in because she was limping and had a sore on her leg. The vet told us that it was an infection and gave us antibiotics. Sounded reasonable. She seemed to get progressively worse developing a cough and panting excessively so we called them and they said to give the antibiotics a chance to work. 6 days later she seemed to get worse still, not eating and laying around so we took her back to the Conchester Vet and they did an X-ray of her chest and gave her a steroid injection. The next day they continued to assure us they could not figure out what could be her problem and suggested an ultra sound and said maybe the steroid just needs time to work. After 8 days she stopped eating, drinking and barely could walk so we took her to another vet that is used by our daughter. After he read her history of cancer and the type of cancer she had and feeling tumors in her neck he told us that her "mystery illness" was her cancer returning and has spread throughout her lymph nodes which was obvious to him since the Conchester diagnosed her with this cancer in the first place a year ago. He told us this cancer actually is very aggressive and always comes back and the it is unlikely to take a year to come back. Sadly 8 days after taking her to the Conchester she was humanely and professionally put down with the love and kindness of a very caring veterinarian. I went to Conchester Animal Hospital in July 2014 to have our dog spayed. We chose this place because they accepted our Friends of Animals neutering certificate we received when we adopted our dog. From when I walked in, all employees were extremely helpful and friendly. From the front desk I could overhear a veterinarian working with a pet in another room. He sounded very caring and patient which gave me a good feeling about this place. The service itself was done well and our dog was monitored overnight. The surgery seemed to be performed well and appeared to be somewhat minimally invasive so dog did not even need a cone. A small billing error was made on their part and without me even noticing it, they immediately called me the next day saying they would credit my card back for the error they made. I take my guinea pigs here to get their nails clipped. Everyone is so sweet and makes a fuss over them - which I think is very nice, as I know that guinea pigs are totally gooby animals and that it's over-the-top that I even take them to the vet. The office is clean and I'm always seen quickly. All of the staff are helpful, professional, and so kind! You can tell everyone here really loves animals. Read Less

I've gone to this Hospital for yrs for a reason.  They are wonderful.  The staff is kind and caring.  They have worked with me in the past on fees and have always taken wonderful care of my animals and me in times of trouble.  I LOVE THE PEOPLE HERE!   They definitely put the animal first!   They used to have emergency hrs and wish they did again.   My experiences with other vets has not been as kind.  Thanks you guys for all you do. I've taken my cat here twice for his yearly examination and vaccinations.  Both times it was easy to get an appointment for later that week.  Also, the hours are as late as 8:00 PM on some days.  It makes it easy for those of us with busy work days.  There are several vets here.  I've met with Dr. Harvey both times and he was very friendly and answered all my questions.  His assistant was also very good with my cat. Last year he told me to put my cat on a diet.  I was feeding the cat what the package said, but apparently that was too much.  I had no idea.  My cat successfully lost over five pounds in the past year (he was 20 pounds!).  He looks much healthier now.  My only complaint is that the prices seem steep.  Granted I'm used to going to the vet in Tennessee or Ohio and the price point there is lower.  Here it's about $100 for an annual, but anything extra will cost you a pretty penny.  My cat needed an antibiotic shot and that was $79!  Ouch!   Luckily my cat is usually pretty healthy so this is only a yearly thing for me.  Pets are just expensive I guess.  I do like this vet, so I plan to take my cat back here next year.
