I really hate to leave a negative review... especially for a place that helps animals. My dog had been seen there when she was alive, and they were great with her. My cat had been seen there 10 years ...
I really hate to leave a negative review... especially for a place that helps animals. My dog had been seen there when she was alive, and they were great with her. My cat had been seen there 10 years ago, but I moved my cat to a closer vet because she hated long car rides. That closer vet retired about 3 years ago. My cat was 18, and suddenly stopped eating and drinking. My husband called Buckingham, since she had been seen there before and they would at least have some prior records. He told them she was last seen there 10 years ago.... they offered us a "cancellation" appointment two days later. *I* called back the next day.... the day before the scheduled appointment, and asked if there were any cancellations that day because I knew something was very wrong. The treatment I received during my phone call was absolutely abhorrent. I spoke to a "Karen," who once learning who the patient was... immediately took on an extremely rude tone of voice. She said that no, there were no other appointments she could offer me. I reiterated that my cat was worse today, and she had to nerve to tell a terrified, weeping cat owner of 18 years the following: "well she hasn't been seen here in 10 years.... and since YOU HAVEN'T KEPT UP WITH HER QUALITY OF CARE, we have no idea what could be going on." in the same rude, condescending tone. She basically told me I hadn't cared properly for my cat. Of 18 years. I was too stunned and angry and honestly crying too hard to correct her and tell her how out of line her opinion was... especially at that moment. I hung up and called my husband.... crying hysterically.... he calmed me down by telling me she was 1000% awful and gave me a couple other vets to try.I was able to be seen by York Road Animal Hospital an hour later.... where I learned my cat was most likely in liver (and possibly more organ) failure, but at her age.... blood testing and subsequent treatment would be more suffering than hope for recovery, and he recommended I put her down. So I did as I held her in my arms. This has been some of the worst 2 weeks of my life. So Karen.... please fix yourself. You piled on heaps more trauma and pain when you should have been trying to alleviate it.

Love the doctors at Buckingham Animal Hospital! They have helped my dog through many ailments! They are reasonably priced that you will never be surprised by a huge bill.

Moved to the area about a year ago so we are new to the practice. Doctors seem to care about the pets and call to check up on them. However they don't have many basic pieces of equipment that I am used to having available at a vet that you need to go another hospital for. This is not convenient at all. Also the receptionist staff is not very friendly most times I've gone. Weighing everything it's middle of the road.

Mike, I have to agree with you. I love my dogs and I have been going here for years. Dr. Thompson is the best at this place. However, today I had to take my dog to the vet suddenly. Unfortunately, Dr. Thompson was not in today. My dog saw a younger vet, a woman. She suggested things that ddid not make any sense. She brought in IVs because he threw up. I asked of hee was dehydrated. She said clinically, no. So why give fluids if not dehydrated? I will never take my animal here unless seen by Dr. Thompson. I am calling in the a.m. to speak to him directly. Wish me luck. He is tged best. The reason for the 1 star is the way these younger vet's handle the situation. No experience. All by reading a book. It's a shame. Hope my dog is better in the a.m.

Incompetent, in business to overcharge on scripts and get paid for office visits. New to the area we brought our dog there three times due to a growth forming on his foot. They insisted this thing that grew quickly over two visits to the size of a golf ball was a callous from him licking his foot due to allergies. They told us it was too thick to have it removed, sold us a $200 bottle of allergy pills and sent us on our way. We emailed a pic to our old vet who immediately responded it looked like a tumor and advised a 2nd opinion. We went to another local vet who also advised it was a tumor and referred to a surgical center. The surgical center concurred with the new vet and removed it. Thankfully it was benign so we’re only out some time and money opposed to a loved one. If you love your pet like family this is the last place you should consider.

I have used Buckingham Animal Hospital for more than 15 years. During this entire time i have had an opportunity to interact with all of the Doctors and most, if not all, of the staff as well. Each of the doctors are wonderful, caring , capable & knowledgable individuals. The staff are also really really great & will go out if their way to answer questions or help when needed. I am rather fussy about my pets & as i have had several animals, dogs & cats, it was important to me that they all received good capable care & treatment. I am more than pleased with this group. It definitely deserves a 5 Star rating.

My dog saw three different vets at this hospital over the course of two months, which resulted in three different diagnoses. Unfortunately none of these diagnoses were correct, and a painful, fatal problem that could have been solved at the hands of a competent vet went undetected resulting in my dogs untimely demise. Do NOT trust your pets lives at this hospital.

We just got back from an emergency visit from Buckingham AH. Our large dog swallowed a pair of underwear, and the staff was fantastic. They stayed open late just for us, had everything ready when we got there, induced vomiting, and all is well. It is so reassuring to know that your vet cares as much as you do. Thank to you everyone there - we'll be patients for life!

We have 4 guinea pigs for about 3 years now....they have always been healthy and we never had to make a Vet trip....until this morning. Our 2 year old was very lathargic, hard to move/walk, head tilting to right side. I took him in and Dr. Kube was so nice to Tot and to us. He looked him over very carefully, clipped his teeth, gave him fluids and antibiotics, hoping whatever it is, will clear up. He did say he thinks it could be somethig in his brain, but we will nurse him for a few days, and see if he'll eat and drink. The whole staff was very nice and got me in on a Saturday morning due to a cancellation. Cross our fingers and hope our Tot will be back to eating and hopping around! Dr. Kube's practice is definitely going to be our Vet from now on. Thank you!

I have been taking my animals here for over 20 years now and they are # 1. They really care about your pets and go out of their way to care for them. I now take my Frenchie, Quincy, and they have taken exceptional care of his needs and the prices are so reasonable. I wouldn't go anywhere else, the staff is great, especially Dr. Kobe and Dr. Thompson. My whole family takes their pets here. Love them!

Wonderful people at this office! They have been with me through loss and then the throes of puppyhood, through spaying and neutering to tricky diagnosis of a chronic condition. They have offered to meet me at the office on a Sunday and given me their home number. Just lovely people. Assistants are so encouraging and bright as well.

I have been using Buckingham Animal Hospital for many years now. They have great prices and genuinely care about the pets. Recently, however, they have been less than satisfactory. Their X-Rays system is outdated and could have easily found the proper diagnosis for my dog without sending me to a specialist that cost me $1000. Bronchitis should have been found in an x-ray and was not. Also, they won't sign off a "prescription" for heart guard for another facility.

Distressed owner wakes up to find indoor house kitty limping badly, They got me in immediately, sedated kitty and took xrays, kept him four hours, updated shots and gave him great care. All for about half of what I was expecting to pay. Best kept secret around here! Thank you to doctors and staff who sent us home relieved this afternoon.They will be our regular vets from now on.

I really hate to leave a negative review... especially for a place that helps animals. My dog had been seen there when she was alive, and they were great with her. My cat had been seen there 10 years ago, but I moved my cat to a closer vet because she hated long car rides. That closer vet retired about 3 years ago. My cat was 18, and suddenly stopped eating and drinking. My husband called Buckingham, since she had been seen there before and they would at least have some prior records. Moved to the area about a year ago so we are new to the practice. Doctors seem to care about the pets and call to check up on them. However they don't have many basic pieces of equipment that I am used to having available at a vet that you need to go another hospital for. This is not convenient at all. Also the receptionist staff is not very friendly most times I've gone. Weighing everything it's middle of the road.

I have used Buckingham Animal Hospital for more than 15 years. During this entire time i have had an opportunity to interact with all of the Doctors and most, if not all, of the staff as well. Each of the doctors are wonderful, caring , capable & knowledgable individuals. The staff are also really really great & will go out if their way to answer questions or help when needed. I am rather fussy about my pets & as i have had several animals, dogs & cats, it was important to me that they all received good capable care & treatment. I am more than pleased with this group. It definitely deserves a 5 Star rating.

My dog saw three different vets at this hospital over the course of two months, which resulted in three different diagnoses. Unfortunately none of these diagnoses were correct, and a painful, fatal problem that could have been solved at the hands of a competent vet went undetected resulting in my dogs untimely demise. I have been using Buckingham Animal Hospital for many years now. They have great prices and genuinely care about the pets. Recently, however, they have been less than satisfactory. Distressed owner wakes up to find indoor house kitty limping badly, They got me in immediately, sedated kitty and took xrays, kept him four hours, updated shots and gave him great care. All for about half of what I was expecting to pay. Best kept secret around here! Thank you to doctors and staff who sent us home relieved this afternoon.They will be our regular vets from now on.

After getting robbed for most of my pet owning life Buckingham animal hospital is by far the most reasonable as far as rates are concerned.They are also excellent vets and take great care of you pets
