We have been coming to Hidden Valley for over 20 years and have never been unhappy with them. Their staff genuinely cares for the animals they treat and we have had at least 5 dogs and 3 cats as patients of theirs over that time. Our dogs never feared coming here and neither did the cats. The last one, Moses, had renal failure and had to be brought in daily for fluids and he got to where he was completely at home with all of them. The level of care they give the pets they treat and the time they spend with the pet's parents (us) is over and above what we experienced anywhere else. Highly recommend them! Read Less

Before my kitty's surgery actually started, they put the tube down her throat and put a hole through it!!! She filled up with air and died. I wanted to see her. She looked like a balloon!! A simple operation turned out as total devastation. But they said they were sorry and didn't charge me for killing her.... What more could we possibly want, right?!!!! She was only 7 years old. This crushed our whole family. I have many many other stories, but do I really need to say more? Why did I stay there so long? It's difficult to get an emergency appointment with this vet during normal business hours. The vet also misdiagnosed one of our pets for over a month before I went to PVSEC, it cost my dog her sight. As a result of these events, we've found a wonderful new vet at A Step Up in Bethel Park. A Step Up is not as close to home, but worth the great care for our dogs! Do not go here! Took our dog in for a limp and difficult breathing. The vet barely looked at him, just saying he had arthritis and needed updated on vaccinations. We took him for a second opinion less than a week later. The different vet we went to checked him throughly. Found a fatty tumor on his arm, listened to his chest and it sounded off. He took him immediately back for an X-ray and found cancer throughout his lungs. Our beloved dog died just a week after being seen and told he "just has arthritis" by hidden valley!!! DO NOT GO HERE! I've used this animal hospital now for more than 4 years. I'm pleased with the whole process. What I like most about this animal hospital is that I usually can schedule an appointment quickly. When my cat got a cut on her leg, this animal hospital arranged to see her during my lunch break and did stitches that day.  They have evening and weekend hours. I see whichever vet is available so I can't say I have developed a deep connection with a particular vet but it's my choice to see whoever is open instead of the same person.  I've been satisfied with the treatment we received from each vet.  Being able to get prompt and competent care is important to me.  I really liked my previous vet who was compassionate but sometimes I had to wait up to 7 days to get an appointment for an illness. This animal hospital is extremely busy, so expect to spend a long time waiting to see a vet.  The checkout process takes even longer when waiting for the receptionists to tally up your bill.  I spent over $300 for the doctor to do x-rays and blood work that showed no problems.  I was told to wait and see.  Not exactly the diagnosis I was looking for. My family had been using this vet for many years in the 90s with our old dog, with no problems. However, when I brought my rescued dog in for stomach problems, I was very disappointed in the service. The vet we saw barely looked over my dog, put him on medications he did not need, and then switched his food, which solved the stomach problems for awhile but then he started biting his paws until they were raw. Disappointed with the service, I switched vets-- the problem all along? Food sensitivity: an allergy to wheat and corn. This is a problem Hidden Valley Animal Clinic could have diagonosed, had they given any attention to my pet, and taken the time with him that he deserved. Read Less
