Every single person that we have encountered here has been friendly, patient, caring, and kind, and this includes the reception staff, the vet techs, and the doctors. They all seem to genuinely care about the animals that come through the door, and they are nice to the animals' owners as well. I have never felt like anyone tried to get money out of me by pressuring me with the offer of any extra services, vaccinations, etc. that my pet didn't necessarily need - I have always felt like the choice was 100% mine and they would support it either way. We were recommended Pleasant Valley Veterinary from a friend and after taking both of our dogs there, we have 100% found our family vet. Dr. Miller is outstanding. You can tell she genuinely loves dogs and what she does for a living. One of our dogs has had serious ear infections for 2 years and we haven't been able to find anyone to really help him. Dr. Miller is always thorough and caring whether it is a standard check-up or a problem visit. Dr. Mike and the staff there were kind, compassionate and thankfully, very knowledgeable about our sweet dog's cancer. Caring for her and finally, letting her go, was a terrible experience which was made better by the professionalism and care of PVVC. Yesterday I had to take my dog to get put down. It was a family decision, following the vets recommendation, but we knew it was coming and we were prepared. We brought him in, he was obviously very frail. He had lost over 15% of his body weight just since his last visit. He was losing control of his muscles and was very weak. My dog recently had surgery for bladder stones. It was a difficult decision for me because my dog is older and blind, but Dr. Mike thoroughly explained the risks of not getting the surgery. I totally trusted leaving my dog in his hands and in the care of his staff. He worked with me to accommodate my schedule because there is a lot going on in my life at the moment. We are new to the state and always worry about quality care for our fur kids. My three visits have been exceptional. I made an appt yesterday for my cat. I was told 145 tomorrow (but it was actually scheduled for 145 next Friday). I got there, they were closed but saw me anyway! We were there to say goodbye to our 'kibbins' and I couldn't see leaving to come back another day. My 18 year old cat took a turn for the worse this past weekend. Growing up, she visited this vet regularly. Since that time, I have moved downtown and her vet visits were sparse. Over the weekend I was researching local vets/options for where to take her. I was mortified reading the reviews of so many vets in the downtown area. I opted to drive out to Pleasant Valley as they had her records. Fortunately, I had mentally prepared myself for the worst because that was the recommendation of the vet. It was a day that I have been dreading for years. That being said, the complete professionalism, courtesy and compassion from the staff made such an awful experience a little bit better. I got a pit bull last year from a shelter and took him there for a basic checkup.  I found the staff wonderful.  This year I received a reminder for when his shots were due.  I scheduled my appointment with ease with a friendly staffer.  The day of the appointment I was greeted by the staff and waited a short time before I was taken back to a room.  The tech that was assigned to us was great!  She answered all the questions I had and looked up some information on a new flea and tick prevention.  The vet and tech were great with my dog and even told me about some services that were offered with a visit.  My dog left happy and healthy.  I left with some great tips and happy knowing that this is a great place! This practice took in a stray senior dog who had been hit by a car and treated him immediately. They didn't turn him away like so many other places will, being only concerned about who would pay the bill. As a result, they saved his life and he now has a loving new home. My family including relatives etc has been customers of Pleasant Valley since before I was born (Im 36) I have been going here as long as I have had a dog and wouldn't trust to go anywhere else. The staff is very helpful,friendly and caring esp when I had to have one of my dogs put down last year they were comforting even in that sad situation. I cannot begin to express how highly I regard Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic. I had chosen them to be my Australian Shepherd puppy's (Taika) vets when I first brought him home 5 weeks ago. He had gone in once for a routine checkup and vax. Then, yesterday, we were faced with a potential tragedy when Taika pulled the strap of my sons diaper bag into his crate and got it wrapped around his neck. We were able to remove it from his neck before he lost consciousness, but he began to exhibit very serious symptoms resulting from the strangulation. Since it was the middle of the night, I rushed him to a 24 hour vet; however, I felt very uneasy with them and the care they were providing and opted to leave with him and take him to PVVC. I arrived as soon as they opened with Taika actively in a seizure. They immediately took him and began treatment. Dr. Brad discussed with me the seriousness of Taika's condition and the options available. I opted to have Taika spend the day there and receive IV fluids and anything else that Dr. Brad believed would benefit him with the understanding that if he continued to have seizures, I would make the difficult to decision to let him go. Throughout the course of the day, Dr. Brad kept me updated on Taika's condition. Slowly, he began to show signs of improvement. Dr. Brad thought he was well enough to go home with us for the night, rather than transporting him to another 24 hour facility. When I picked Taika up in the evening and brought him home, he was nearly back to being his normal, rambunctious self. Upon Dr. Brad's recommendation, my husband brought Taika back in this morning for further monitoring and care and has continued recovering. I cannot thank the staff at PVVC enough for the level of care and expertise they gave him and for compassion they showed, not only for Taika, but our whole family. I will be forever grateful to all of them for saving my puppy's life. For anyone who is looking for a vet, PVVC is, by far, the best you could ever hope for.Read Less

I have been to several vets both here and in other cities.  This one is by far my favorite.  The staff is always friendly and helpful.  Dr. Brad is GREAT!  He doesn't push things on you.  I am so glad i chose to take my dog there.  I have not used any of the other Drs so I can't speak to them.
