Brandywine Veterinary Hospital

Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania
General Info
Brandywine Veterinary Hospital in Chadds Ford constructs a veterinary care model based on reliability and empathy which helps Pennsylvania pet owners navigate developmental care stages that evolve with each life phase. The initial consultation starts with a broad dialogue examining recent changes alongside consistent factors to understand the pet's role in family dynamics. Examinations assess physical condition oral health respiratory rhythm skin and joint flexibility along with any shifts in posture or temperament. Veterinary professionals examine symptoms such as itchiness and toy disinterest alongside slowed movement and appetite changes to determine initial care priorities. Brandywine Veterinary Hospital provides an array of services including vaccinations diagnostics allergy and skin support senior pet planning dental evaluations and breed-specific risk assessments. The timing of recommendations aligns with pet owner schedules and animal habits by staggering care during busy months and matching treatments to activity patterns. Seasonality factors combine with housing setup considerations while diet trends intersect with social interactions to create a focus on pets living in homes with children or senior animals. Care plans develop based on pet requirements within family capacity while adapting to behavioral signals and medication effects alongside fluctuating energy levels. Frequent check-ins enable the refinement of recommendations while detecting missed indicators and providing owners with clear management tools to eliminate confusion and guesswork in care. I am writing this review as I have been wrongly denied satisfaction by their malpractice insurance. My main goal in writing this review is just to warn people about one of their Doctors, Mr. Bradley Gray. I had a full breed German Shepherd Dog that I took there since she was a pup. She started developing irritated eye symptoms. After taking her several times to Dr. Gray for the same symptoms, she developed an irreversible eye infection brought on by the disease known as Pannus. Pannus is aka the German Shepherd eye disease and is treatable if diagnose properly. Dr. Gray never even mentioned the possibility of this disease at any of the multiple times we were in for these symptoms. It took thousands of dollars, loss of sight, and over 6 months of therapy for my dog to recover. I have been told by other Vets that any/all Vets should know about this eye disease in German Shepherds and treatment should have been prescribed the very first time we went to Brandywine Vet. This was negligence. My dog suffered greatly, and I want to  make sure it doesn't happen to any one else. Read Less

We took our greyhound to Dr. Gray after she broke her leg...HUGE mistake! We were shocked and devastated once we saw the crazy wonky angle he permanently fused our dog's leg into. After she suffered for a year trying very hard to learn how to walk again we were able to save enough money to take her to a qualified and highly skilled orthopedic surgeon who re-broke her leg and fused it into a very natural position. Finally after considerable pain and cost she is now walking normally. I believe Dr. Gray has good intentions, but IMHO he should NOT be practicing orthopedic surgery. I used to love this place, then they gave my cat an injection of Convenia which he had an allergic reaction to. They did not forwarn me of any dangers or side effects of this drug. Instead of treating the reaction and reporting it to the drug company, they denied it was a reaction to the injected drug and said whatever he's experiencing was NOT from the injection. That is just careless and irresponsible. Then I received no response to a letter I sent them of my experience. Unacceptable. Read Less

We have been taking pets to BVA for annual checkups;teeth cleaning;boarding, grooming and surgeries when necessary for too many years to count....cats and dogs. Our experience has been very positive with all problems solved that were destined to be solved. When we lost a pet with old age related problems that could not be fixed, the staff was always comforting to us and the animal involved. At times the cost could be high, depending on the extent of treatment but other normal visits were in line with other vets. You get what you pay for and saving a pet's life was worth every cent we paid! We were never overcharged! Thanks to all at Brandywine Vet!!!!!!!! Read Less

I have been taking my pets to Brandywine Veterinary Hospital for over 30 years. I currently have 3 yellow Labrador Retrievers, all with their own issues. Dr.Gray and his staff have exhibited exemplary care and performance in working with me, my family, as well as, my beloved pets. Dr. Gray takes the time to listen to me, while taking a detailed history, before determining any necessary treatments or tests. He discusses every option with me, always pointing out the pros and cons. 3 years ago, my oldest lab was gagging and having a hard time breathing. I was beyond distraught! Dr. Gray diagnosed him with Laryngitis Paralysis, and recommended a special surgical center that performs over a 1,000 surgeries of that particular procedure a year. It is because of Dr. Gray that my yellow lab is alive and well, today, and approaching 13 years of age. He took the time to explain to me that I needed to use elevated dog bowls, moisten his food, to not give him any more milk bones, and to change from a collar to a halter. I, now, wish I had never used a collar on any of my dogs. My other lab, leaps out of the car and runs into the vet hospital like Raggedy Andy. Dr.Gray recognized, immediately, that he does not like to be forced onto an examining table -- he kneels down to examine/treat him on his level. Dr. Gray, and his staff, have accommodated me in so many other ways, such as; arranging for an ultrasound technician to meet me at their veterinary hospital instead of sending me to one of those special clinics. I am able to email Debbie (the office manager) and ask her to mail me meds since I live 35 miles away -- 70 miles round trip. Bottom line -- I love it there! My pets feel comfortable and receive optimum care! Dr. Gray and his team's attention to detail are second to none. I give them 5 stars! Read Less

Read Less

Can't say enough good things about Brandywine Vet! I starting bringing my dogs there for vet care about 4 years ago and will never go anywhere else now. Dr. Gray is absolutely amazing. He's a realist which I appreciate. His staff is equally as amazing. They treat my dogs like they treat their own. Dr. Courtney is very knowledgeable and gentle. They have so many great things in office like laser therapy and PT (and boarding) which is so convenient. Can I rate 10 stars?

Read Less

I have to let people know what great service I received at Brandywine Vet Hospital. I went there with a limping 8 month old sheltie and Dr. Gray diagnosed my puppy with a rare condition (Canine Perthes) and operated on him. The treatment of my Sheltie was excellent with very caring and competent staff. Four months later my puppy is running at top speed and catching frisbees in mid air ! I wouldn't trust my pets with any other vet than Dr Brad Gray! Read Less
