I can't say enough about this pet hospital. I've been taking my furry babies there for over ten years. Compassionate, knowledgeable and up to date on procedures. The vet techs are so loving towards my boys and know their quirks. For example, Boomer doesn't like his paws touched. Natalie at the front really knows her stuff. Always pleasant and helpful. If you are seeking top quality care look no further.  Also, hours are great as well. Open on weekends. Thank you Docs Meyers and Shifflet Read Less

Wow! I can’t say enough good things about the Banfield pet hospital! My pup had a seizure for the first time the other night, which was the most terrifying thing to watch as a pet owner. Banfield squeezed her in that day to be seen by one of the vets. I could tell they were busy, but the vet took her time to explain everything we need to do next time this happens and they updated her annual blood work and tested her for heart worm while we were there to save us a trip. The staff is very friendly. The wellness plans are a waste of money. You're just paying monthly instead of at the time of service with a little discount. I wouldn't recommend the wellness plans.

Dr Shifflet at this location is the best.  She is kind, caring and compassionate.  All 3 of my pets go here.  My reason for 2 stars was our puppy was poisoned by a flea and tick product Banfield uses.  He had to admitted overnight to the emergency vet - they were unable to tell if it was an allergic reaction or overdose. I had taken him in to see the vet on call that day when he started throwing up and was very lethargic - they told me he was fine - nothing was wrong with him.  Within the hour of returning home he became none responsive and had to be rushed to puppy ER.  Very scary.  I will say I have returned and now my boys will only ever see Dr Shifflet.  She pays attention to detail.  I will also say the wellness plan offered does keep vet visits affordable and convenient!  But again - my 3 boys ( 2 cats and a Puppy) will only ever see their vet! My two dogs saw Dr. Amy Wilson-Alvarado and was assisted by Laura.  I have been to many veterinarians but I really liked the interaction I had with these two plus the other staff at the location. This was a very informative and friendly visit.  My dogs were comfortable and were not afraid.  They even cuddled with them.  I like how they do not pressure you to buy extra services.  I have been to other places where I felt they were trying to scare me into purchasing more services.  This place was very straight forward and they were able to show me the prices up front in the room before I purchased anything.  I tend to go to different vets but I really think I may end up just staying at this location.  I was that happy with the staff and pricing.  I currently have pet insurance but I may switch to their plan when my insurance is up.  Not sure yet on that one. My pup got very sick yesterday, & although they were fully booked they made sure he got seen, made me feel comfortable, & best of all made him feel better. No matter what the treatment, the next day you can count on a courtesy call to ensure you animal is doing well. All of the doctors, nurses, & receptionists are fantastic. Thank you. Read Less

Ended up going to banfield due to my routine vet being out of the office on Saturday. We had a situation come up that wasn't dire but definitely needed addressed sooner rather than later. We called Saturday morning and was able to get in that same afternoon. The office is right in the pet smart which made it simple to find. The staff from the front desk to the doctor were very pleasant and didn't treat us any different since we don't usually go there. The vet seemed knowledgeable and willing to answer any additional questions we had. I would highly recommend them. The only reason for the 4 star Instead of 5 is because of the sales gimmicks. I told them I drove an hour to get my dog seen and I think they realized I wouldn't be back not due to lack of service or bad experience but just the distance. That didn't stop them from trying to sell me dog medical insurance or warranty however you want to word it. I think they should screen who or when they offer that service it seemed to be required and kinda shoved down your throat which could be off putting to some! Like I said great doctor and care, would recommend for routine or emergency care! Read Less

My 1 year old male dog was mischievous and ate some of my medications while I was at work. I had not actually taken my dog to Banfield before, but had an appt. set for 2 weeks later to see them for a first visit for him (it will be his first visit to a different vet since we adopted him). So he was in their system. It was 6:00 at night and they said bring him in, they were there. I brought him straight in, and he was somewhat lethargic, and definitely affected by the medicine. Dr. Billings knew EXACTLY how to handle my situation, and they examined him fully and administered charcoal in the back, she showed me how to monitor his vital signs at home to keep an eye on him, and other tips on what to do for him and what to look out for. She and the staff helped me get through a really scary situation with the upmost professionalism. Our dog was fine the next day. They saved me major $$$ by being there for us, I didn't have to go to the emergency vet. Read Less

I typically don't write bad reviews but this crossed a line for me. This place is terrible. I had a plan with them when I first got my puppy. Then my dog ripped her nail. I immediately took her to Banfield where they wrapped her paw so tight and with ridiculous sticky tape that it ripped her fur taking it off, and caused the nail to get worse and I had to take her to a different vet who properly cared for her. It was completely unnecessary what Banfield did. And they try to get you to pay as much as possible every time you stop in. I switched vets over a year ago and today my dog had a tick. My vet was booked so I took her to Banfield thinking id give them another chance. The tick fell off in the room so that was fine. But the lead vet there talked down on me like I was stupid when she said my dogs vaccines were way overdue. Well, yeah I stopped going to you guys and all her vaccines are up to date. When I explained that to her she stuck her nose up at me and huffed like she didn't believe me. Then proceeded to scold me about my dogs weight. Which I'm already aware of because I recently changed her food and have been altering her diet to adjust to the new food. Then the vet, when I asked about lowering the amount of food, she said no don't lower it and that somehow the amount I'm giving her now is not enough? But the vet says she's overweight? No clear answers, no help, and extremely poor customer service. Today was a reminder why I cancelled my plan and stopped going here. There are plenty of other small private owned vets that actually care about the animals they see and that care for the owners as well. Oh, and other vets that don't try to rip you off and empty your wallet as much as Banfield does. I've had one too many bad experiences here and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels their customer service and their vets are cold! Read Less

Dr Meyers is awesome. She saved my guinea pig, Skittles, life a couple of years ago. He had bumblefoot and she quickly prescribed antibiotics - another vet said it was not necessary... After his infection cleared and I read up on his condition, I discovered he would have died without the "pink stuff". He went for a checkup today and I was told that he may be suffering from kidney disease (he's 6 years old). I've had vets in the past who have tried to scam me with my piggies; putting them through unnecessary and painful exams - both to my pets and my wallet. Instead of pushing blood work or medication, she said "there's no reason to get it- all it will do is confirm a diagnosis...we can't really do anything". She's also seeing him in a month - free of charge - to checkup on his weight. An office visit is $40.95, which is a lot, but you're paying for a vet's opinion, a vet-tech, the space and the registration ladies' time. When you factor in all of that, it's not too bad. Read Less

Took my dogs just for vaccines prior to boarding and they had a full exam. It was expensive, but fine. Dogs were perfectly healthy so I got them their shots and listened to the dr., and tech sell me on their wellness plan which I declined. 4 days later my dog wouldn't move or eat. Since the dr informed me that he tested positive for Lyme I requested antibiotics. They refused to prescribe without an exam. Since they just saw him and I paid an arm and a leg I wasn't going back. I went to my regular vet. My perfectly healthy (according to Banfield) dog's lungs were riddled with cancerous nodules. He passed within 3 days. I will never go to Banfield or shop at PetSmart. Had I known my dog had less than 2 weeks to live I would not have paid $300 for vaccines. I wouldn't have boarded him or taken a trip if I knew he was deathly ill and in his last days. Read Less

When my sweet guinea pig Cleopatra came down with a fatal illness in March 2015, I was desperately trying to find a vet willing to put her to sleep. I called 7 other vets, but none were willing to do it- and those who were charge 300$ for small animal euthanasia! Then I called Banfield. They were very caring and set up an appointment that night at 5:30. We were brought in immediately, and we got to say our last goodbyes. The doctor then carefully picked her up and brought her back into the room and was humanely put down. The staff was very professional and kind-hearted. They sent us a card with their condolences a few days later. Cleopatra has been to this vet before the illness hit her for ringworm. She LOVED the vets here! She was born deaf in both ears and was often timid of new people, but she came right out to say "Hi!" when the doctor came in. She was cooperative with all the tests (including a skin sample- ouch!) and didn't try to bite once. That's how skilled these vets are.Read Less

Banfield vet hospital exceeded our expectations. The staff we're kind, thorough, and focused on providing the best care possible to my dog. Dr. Billing is an exemplary vet, who goes above and beyond to ensure the best treatment for your loved furry babies. She was friendly, calming , and completely happy to answer any questions--I even called back with follow up questions and she spent a great amount of time assisting me. She is by far, one of the best vets that I have met. I am grateful for the services that were provided to our babies. Read Less

Had to take the kitty to the vet on a semi-urgent issue.  Called up Banfield and though it was not an emergency, they got me in to see the doctor almost immediately. This pet hospital is located off Rt. 228 in the Petsmart.  The office is off to the side when you walk into the building.  They have a reception desk and a small waiting area with 3 benches (seats about 9 people total).  They have three treatment rooms and behind those treatment rooms is where they perform teeth cleanings, x-rays, surgeries, blood work...etc.  While they call this place a 'hospital', they offer routine services such as annual-visits, check-ups and other preventive care.  So it is more of a cross between hospital and a doctors office. I have always found the staff to be extremely friendly and very knowledgable.  They always do their very best to make sure our pet is looked after and cared for.  On this particular visit, they thoroughly explained what they were seeing with our cat.  They explained the diagnosis to me and then went over all the x-rays and reviewed the blood work findings.  They provided me with the treatment option they would recommend and also one other that was also something that could be tried.  They left the decision up to me.  The laid out the facts, there was no pressure to choose one over the other (some places would push the higher cost one I am sure). We have always had great success here and we will continue to have our cat looked after and cared for here. I have been taking my pets to Banfield since Dr. Steed was the Vet. We loved Dr. Steed, and always appreciated the staff as well including Al and Stephanie. They always went above and beyond to make sure that you were comfortable and that our pets were taken care of. We had to take my 13 year old cat this weekend to be euthanized. This is not an easy decision for any pet owner. She has lost half of her weight in the last 6 months, could hardly move, and the list goes on. She was very sick, and we didn't have the money to do expensive testing. We literally agonized for the last three months on what to do. We explored our options as a family, and finally came upon the decision that it was time to say goodbye. We called a few months before and were quoted a price to have this done. When we arrived, they examined Guinevere, and immediately began to question why we were putting her down. We explained the situation and it fell on cold, deaf ears. There was no empathy or acknowledgement of the decision that we had made. After the tech left the room, the Dr came in and shook our hands. And immediately told us that she was confused. I told her the cat was at least 13. She went on to tell us that there could be other things wrong that were treatable and showed absolutely no heart to the decision we already made. After leaving the room, the tech came back in and told us the cost. It was 50.00 more than we were quoted on the phone, she told us that we were misquoted. The cost included an office exam of 40.00- that we didn't ask for! After arguing with them, they removed the office visit. I will never return to this clinic, we had previously had to euthanize our dog a few years ago, and were not made to feel like garbage about our difficult decision. This experience was totally unacceptable. I understand that they need to give you the options, and that they may include tests and treatments. However, if the pet owner chooses not to do those things, they should not be made to feel more horrible than they already do. Losing a pet is difficult as it it, you don't need to be treated poorly by the staff of a Vets office.Read Less
