Dr. Kumar is a very caring vet. He gives your pet a thorough exam and let's you know the cost of the tests or services that need to be done prior to doing them. He will explain options if they're available. Two times I needed my pets to be seen right away and both times I was accommodated. His staff is very friendly as well. My cat was throwing up with no sign of stopping on a day that his practice was closed. Dr. Kumar stopped what he was doing, and went straight to his practice to help my sick cat. No secretary, no one was there except him. This was during the July 4th weekend, and I noticed balloons in his car when I pulled up. He obviously had other plans but he couldn't resist helping an animal in need. He ran a series of tests, and even though I didn't have quite enough money at the time, he still performed every test possible and trusted I'd come back to pay the balance. I came back to pay the balance and even though I insisted on paying more for cutting into his holiday, he refused. He also recommended hospitalization at a different practice despite it not being in his own self interest. Sadly, I was turned down for payment plans at vSec. But nonetheless... This man really cares about your pet and his actions -- not his words, prove it. I can't thank him enough for what he did for Lucy. He's an amazing man. I believe he saved her life that day and she's improving thanks to his compassionate and quick action. Many vets will say things, but his actions proved to me that he really cares even when it's not in his financial self-interest or if your problem cuts into his plans. If I were sick myself and if he were legally allowed to treat me, I'd go to Dr. Kumar. I trust him that much. Read Less

I recommend this animal hospital to anyone who needs a good vet for their pet. Dr. Kumar was the best, I took my baby kitty Eleanie there because she suddenly got sick, He did bloodwork and was very efficient at getting me the results within 24 hours. Unfortunately she has renal failure, but he was positive in her treatment...he came up with a plan and she needed to gain weight as well, he gave me special food for her and she began eating again. she has to go back for a followup but she has begun to flourish under his care, he will call you back within minutes if you leave a message on his voicemail. His fees are very reasonable and the "bedside" manner is phenomenal. If you need a good vet consider going to see him. Read Less

Sad to say that Dr. Rastogi has passed away. I just feel the need to say that maybe his office wasn't the best looking up to date with all the fancy stuff others have. But what others don't have is the care and love that Dr. Rastogi gave to all the animals that were brought through his door. He cared about the animal first then the money. I have been taking my pets to Dr. Rastogi for 20 plus years and he always took very good care of them. He will be sadly missed by my husband and myself. My husband and I brought our cat to the Croydon Animal Hospital at 9 in the morning and with no appointment for an emergency. After explaining the situation, the vet did not hesitate to have us bring our cat in. Do not be put off by the appearance of the building and inner office. The vet is very kind and knowledgeable. 15 minutes and a shot of antibiotic later, we were bringing our cat home, and by early afternoon, I could see that he was already feeling much better. Also, the cost of our visit along with our cat's follow-up medicine was very affordable. You can tell that the vet is out for the animal and not the money. Now if only I could find a "humans doctor" with these same qualities, I'd be ahead of the game!!! Read Less

Vet is very knowledgeable - the office is not modern and techie but he loves animals and is very good with my dog who is high strung - have been going here for 7 years. He has helped my dog with his seizures due to epilepsy my dog is 14 and in pretty good health. I had two cats spayed here and had no problems and they were back to normal in a couple of days. My animals have never contacted any infections after shots, bloodwork or surgery. I recommend this vet. Read Less

While this vets office is not your typical office, he is the best I have ever been to and would never stray. You can call him at any time outside of office hours for an emergency and you can bring your pet right over. Not only has he helped me improve the life of my two dogs but he helped save the life of a friends dog who was told by another vet that she had to be put down. I highly recommend this man! We've got three dogs and two cats, and this vet has seen and cared for each of them at some point during the past two years. The caveats: It isn't a high-tech office. The waiting room has old, faded ad posters and plastic lawn chairs, and there isn't a computer in the building. The exam rooms feature worn furnishings that are stained, but I don't know about the other reviews claims of being unsterile (none of our animals have shown any infections). While the vet does smoke in the office, it appears to only occur in the lobby. Now the good: The vet has given our animals a number of different vaccinations and has performed two spays, one on a kitten and, most recently, one on our puppy. Having grown up with animals and seen numerous animal surgeries, I have never seen such a small incision on an animal than when he spayed our kitten, and one year later, there isn't a visible scar. Were I stepping into the office for the first time, I would have reservations about the office given its appearance. In this case, however, looks are deceiving. The vet is, in my experience anyway, a skilled practitioner and my animals seem to like him. It's just...quirky. Read Less

The place was extremely dirty! He did a hatchet job on my dog for no good reason and offered no warning or explanation of what he was going to do. He didn't clean the wound before or after ""treating"" the injury. Afterwards, he removed the blood from the exam table with odorban; NO DISINFECTANT! I ended up taking my dog to another vet to repair the damage he did and for treatment of infection. By far the most horrilbe place I have ever taken my dog. Spare yourself the nightmare! Read Less
