I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Dr. Laura Weis at this vet. I live an hour away in Cheltenham and still truck my little cat here! Our sweet kitty has asthma and we took her to a local vet who never mentioned anything about her diet and then wanted to keep her on steroids for the rest of her life. We wanted to take her to a holistic vet so I called around and just could not afford the places I was talking to and happened to hear about Dr. Laura by my sister who works at a natural pet food store and we decided to reach out to her. This was a turning point in our cats recovery, we switched her diet (learning about how bad dry food is for cats) and were given omega and homeopathic remedies for kitty. She has been improving so much since seeing Dr. Laura and I am so grateful. Dr. Laura is incredibly responsive and knowledgeable, I am blown away at how much attention we received for the same price that I was paying at the conventional vet! The doctors and staff really care. They integrate western and eastern medicine and modalities. One of my cats had terrible skin issues. Her former vet said its due to a protein allergy. We had to find food without poultry and pea protein to start. It was difficult. It didn't get much better. Then we went to Doylestown Veterinarian Hospital. I have mixed feelings about this place. Our first visit was with our puppy and they were very thorough...for a cost of course!  Over $300 for a wellness exam, vaccines, and a few other minor things.  I also have a holistic vet that I work with because I believe in a combination of both conventional and holistic medicine to keep my animals healthy. I thought this place would be supportive of this based on their website saying they offer acupuncture and other holistic treatments. Don't be fooled!!  I get SO MUCH push back from the docs and nurses here. It's so frustrating. As an example there are a few optional vaccines that I'm not comfortable giving my 11lb pup after doing lots of research, consulting with my holistic vet as well as the vets here, and evaluating my dog's lifestyle. I'm educated about this stuff and I work very hard to make the best decision for my animals. The docs here are not on board with my decisions and they try to fear me into doing things I'm not comfortable with every time. So why do I keep going?  We foolishly purchased the puppy plan and pay $90 a month that covers  unlimited wellness visits, all first year vaccines, one round of blood work, and spay/neuter. Looking back it's totally not worth it, but it's done so we keep going until our year is up. I will say the spay surgery they did was great, love the dr and nurses who treated my puppy that day as I really felt she was in great hands!   So bottom line is if you choose to treat your fur babies completely with conventional medicine and want to pay a bit more then this is your place. But, if you in any way want to add in holistic treatments or treatment plans be prepared to feel like you have to defend your every decision. Read Less

The docter spent 90 minutes with me & Bella, going over her possible diagnosis, testing, and talking to me about her nutrition etc. My dog got more attention then humans get from their family doc. We moved here from NY and needed to board our two dogs - a 6mo Aussie and a 14 yrs old Papillon very last minute for an unexpected trip. They did a great job making an awkward, wiggly pup and an old grouch feel comfortable. Since the boarding went so well we've been taking out pups back to the vet's there for everything from puppy shots to emergencies. They've been great! We're really happy. Great Vet and special care for our Jackson boy. He has had bladder stones and two surgeries. When we discovered them for the third time, Dr. Laura suggested homeopathic care to try to avoid another surgery and full development of more stones. I have just recently started bringing my cat to this Hospital. I have always lived trying the holistic approach. I have managed to keep boy pretty healthy through his years. But a lot of family events have caused me to be separated from him for the last 7 months. I've just gotten him back and he is very unhealthy. Apparently he now has diabetes and we'll have to be given insulin twice a day. Now with the conventional veterinary hospitals they were certain that I'd have to do that for the rest of his life no matter what. With this hospital we are exploring different paths. I have him on an herbal regimen and the insulin injections. I am praying and hoping that he improves and we will no longer have to give him the insulin. I would just like to say the staff was very welcoming to me and Boy. The veterinarian and his techs are very nice and very knowledgeable. I have always had a great experience at Doylestown Vet.  Dr. MacDonald and Dr. Erk are very nice and extremely knowledgeable. The nurses and receptionists are very helpful. I brought my dogs in for acupuncture and general visits and have always been extremely pleased. I specifically searched for an AAHA accredited hospital and not only do my dogs receive top quality service but they also receive the TLC from all staff members. Read Less

Even though we live far away, there is little doubt when it comes to bringing our dog to this place. Staff is friendly and the nurses are awesome. The veterinarians are incredibly knowledgeable. Just make sure you are on top of all the different procedures they are mentioning to avoid any surprises at the end. My husband and I cannot say enough about Doylestown Veterinary Hospital! We have two yorkies and they have been under DVH's care since they were puppies. Both dogs have significant medical needs, and we can say, confidently, that our little girl would not still be with us had she not received such wonderful treatment from DVH following a near-fatal bee sting. We always leave each appointment (and trust me, we're there a lot!) feeling like our dogs are in the best of hands. All of the staff members have been great, and the doctors there are extremely knowledgable and compassionate. They answer any questions that we may have and we never feel rushed at our visits. I have been taking my three dogs to Doylestown Veterinary Hospital and to the Holiday House Pet Resort (part of the same enterprise) for the past six years.  I give both 5 STARS and would give 100 stars if I could do so!!!  Everyone of the staff is knowledgable, genuinely caring, and loving of all animals.  We feel like part of the family.  When I say to my three "let's go to camp" they know they are going for a great time at Holiday House.  And even going to see the vet isn't stressful for them as the environment is so friendly and caring ~ It's terrific and Thank You to all who work there for making it that way!! We have been taking our dogs to the practice for over 6 years. They treated my Golden Retriever, Abby for 4 years and my present chocolate lab Charley for almost 3 years. I very much wanted to like this vet. We recently moved and this vet is not the closest to our new place, but it is easy to get to and has great reviews on Google. I also liked that their website says that they are a "cat friendly practice" (we have three cats as well as two dogs) and that they use the ePetHealth system, which gives me easy access to the animals' medical records.I took my dogs there today and was disappointed. The practice itself is housed in an old stone building and has plenty of yard for the dogs to sniff around, which was nice. The receptionist was nice and I liked the vet and nurse as well. I do think that both dogs were well-treated and cared for.However, the prices were exorbitant. I paid over $100 more than I usually pay for a well visit and vaccination. Perhaps they need to charge more because their rent is high or something? I don't know but it was a nasty surprise. I also did not appreciate the attempts to upsell me. The nurse wanted me to set up a "Wellness Plan" with them for $50 a month per dog. The vet wanted me to do the same thing but for $50 a month for one dog and $119 a month (!) for the second dog. Had the services they were selling been necessary, or had this plan provided me with some savings even on some less necessary services, I would have been regretful that I couldn't afford it, but these services were not necessary (free grooming session! TWO well visits a year [for perfectly healthy dogs]! etc.). I couldn't leave without them pushing this plan yet a THIRD time! Finally when I was handed some paper, which I took to be my bill, and told that two well visits & two shots would total almost $400, I looked at this "bill" and it was just a checklist without any information about what each service cost or even a listed total. I had to go to the desk and point this out at which point I was told curtly that "No of course the numbers aren't on there." Silly me! Then and only then did I get my bill. This place is probably fine if you have a lot of money to spend or only one animal. We put aside $100 a month in a special vet fund and it has always been more than adequate to cover regular vet bills plus a stash building up in case one of them ever needs major treatment. We aren't stingy but I have gone to multiple vets since we moved and know that I can get better service for better prices than this place. Read Less
