I was happy seeing Dr Jones here, but the one star is for Dr Maro, whom I got stuck seeing when Dr. Jones was sick and my cat with chronic illness started declining rapidly. Bringing my cat to see Dr. Maro has been the worst veterinary experience that I have ever had, and I have seen vets for many years with many of my cats. She has no compassion and will run you up an enormous bill for no reason. I like Dr. Jones but I am leaving this hospital because of her. it was a terrible ordeal for me having to deal with the end of my beloved cat’s life with her as the vet that I got stuck seeing. Run from this clinic! There are far more caring vets with more reasonable prices who actually care about you and your animal and don’t take advantage of you when you’re going through a very bad time already. I actually heard another customer complaining about her while I was in there waiting to see Dr. Jones when he became well and came back. So I know I am not the only one who had this bad experience with Dr Maro.

Our 16 year old cat Smudge was diagnosed with a rare aggressive form of cancer last summer and he's still here and doing well under Dr. Mauro's holistic care. I was going out to the ellwood city office for treatment for my pet, and was terribly let down by their practice, which seemed to include far more extreme ideas than a regular holistic practice. After an exploratory surgery, The vet suggested that my cat may have been allergic to sutures that were still inside him, and held the suture material up against his outside, suggesting that merely by touching the suture material to his skin, the allergic reaction could be counteracted. When he stayed after the surgery, i was called in, and he was unceremoniously dumped in my arms in a critical state. They wanted him out of there before he died. And we both got the heave ho. Pay the bill first before you see the cat, please..... And the prices were extreme. Yet another vet who gouges poeple who love their pets and have the money to pay. At that time, i called maro a fraud, a hoax and a charlantan. Time has not improved my evaluation of her. Hey dr maro, i took kitty to a real vet at the Surgery specialty clinic. And they repaired your damage. He lived a healthy life for years afterwards. Avoid this quack.

Dr. Maro and the staff at Ellwood Animal Hospital are all professional and courteous. My cat received wonderful, holistic and conventional care. My cat had a severely broken jaw. Dr. Maro gave me an estimate which was hundreds under the other estimates I had been given. That included surgery, medications, and supplements. Dr. Maro explained that he may need further surgery, but she tried to keep the procedure minimal. It's a week after surgery and my kitty is doing very well! I'm grateful to Dr. Maro and her excellent staff and techs.
Dr. Maro is very knowledgeable and utilizes an array of modalities including: acupuncture, herbs, and chiropractic. I will continue to use this vet in the future. Thank you!

My poodle mix was attacked by a neighborhood dog. My usual vet is 45 minutes away and there was no way he would have survived the car ride there. I called the Ellwood Animal Hospital in a panic and within minutes my dog was being treated. My dog survived his vicious attack; I am 100% certain it was only because of Dr. Maro and her wonderful vetinary staff. I don’t even have the words to say how appreciative and grateful I am.
I was also never given false hope; Dr. Maro explained the extent of his injuries and the majority of the time they are fatal. It was my choice to do anything and everything necessary to help save his life. I was also given quotes so I would be made aware of the financial obligation whether or not he survived. For all of the medical attention he received, the total cost was not exorbitant. I Absolutely feel it was appropriate for the services he was provided. I cannot reiterate enough how thankful I am for all the Ellwood Animal Hospital did for my dog. Truly a miracle!

Dr. Maro has helped us with all of our Japanese Chin over the past decade. I can't say enough good things about the staff there and the treatments that have helped each of our dogs to live the best lives that they possibly could. We are forever grateful for the care they receive. I wouldn't think of taking my dogs elsewhere, even for the "routine" stuff. We've experienced almost all of the services they have to offer - both holistic and traditional and they are the best. I mu...st say that getting your dog spayed or neutered there is excellent - my dogs are up and running around the day after and heal so quickly! We get holistic treatments regularly and I am certain that has improved each of our dogs' lives. The comfort measures that they have been able to provide for our aging dogs helped our dogs enjoy a better & longer quality of life. The vet techs & assistants are super - we love them all. But we must give a shout out to our special favorite, Bekka, who if it weren't for her, we may not have been able to bring our Captain as frequently for treatments! She handled him perfectly. We had a lab who was bleeding from her nose. She sneezed a lot and blood would be everywhere. We took her to Dr. Maro, and she discovered that our dog had tumors in her nose. She said surgery would be very expensive and the tumors could always return. We had 4 young children and really couldn't afford thousands of dollars for surgery on our beloved pet. Dr. Maro suggested we try various herbal remedies and supplements. I was skeptical but desperate to try anything that might help. Within 3 months of starting the supplements, the bleeding had completely stopped and our five year old lab had regained her pep! Eight months later, Dr. Maro put a scope in the dog's nose and there was no sign of tumors! Our dog lived six more healthy years. When the time came to have her put down, Dr. Maro and her staff were compassionate and even sent us a sympathy card. We trust Dr. Maro and appreciate her expertise, compassion and knowledge of pets!

We have been going to Dr. Maro for many years for our various cats. She and the staff have always been helpful and courteous to us and our cats, even when they were not so happy to be there! They have also been very compassionate when the news was not so great. Our most recent cat was diagnosed with cancer and Dr. Maro did everything possible for her. In the end, we knew that we had done all we could for her, and we will be forever grateful for the care she received. I would definitely trust them with any future pets we may add to our family.

I cannot say enough about how awesome the care is and even if your pet has something that is difficult to figure out, they will not stop until you have an answer. The compassion and care are outstanding. I have brought many dogs, cats, and even ferrets here for treatment - and I will continue to come here as long as I have pets, which will be as long as I live. We began seeing Dr. Mario about 14 years ago for food allergies our sheltie had. She helped her overcome them all and live a very long life. Between her, Dr. Anelu, and Dr. Wong we have had excellent care for all of our four legged furry children. We have tried other vets in the area in the past, but have had outstanding care with Dr. Maro. We highly recommend anyone to any of the animal hospital locations.

I found Dr. Maro through an online search for veterinary specialists. I attended the Grand Opening of the Cranberry location and took a tour of the facility. Not long after this, I brought my 10 year old German Shorthaired Pointer, Ace, in for a full evaluation/consultation with Dr. Maro. He has arthritis and a dislocated shoulder and I wanted to see what options were available to help him as much as I possibly can. I have never had a veterinarian who is more thorough than Dr. Maro (and her staff as well). Dr. Maro asked alot of questions and really listened to my answers. This began a series of treatments for Ace including blood work, acupuncture, rainbow treatments, laser therapy, an echocardiogram and a CAT scan. Every time we go to the office for one of Ace's treatments every member of the staff knows who Ace is and they greet him by name. They are so great with him. It is always very easy to get an appointment and I have regularly gotten next day appointments for his treatment sessions. I would recommend anyone (and I have given recommendations to my friends) to Dr. Maro and Cranberry Holistic Pet Care. As a result of the treatments Ace has received, he has become like a new dog. He is so much more mobile than before, he is running again, you can actually see it on his face that he's so much happier than before. I can't thank Dr. Maro and her staff enough for everything they've done and continue to do for Ace.

I have the utmost respect for vets at the practice. They know their stuff. My pets had been seeing them since the late 90s. I have noticed a big shift in how they treat pets. Before it seemed like they were traditional vets that offered some holistic practices (e.g., acupuncture, laser, massage, etc.) now it seems that the holistic/CAM is at the forefront. It's too big of a shift for me and it's not what I am looking for in a vet or as treatment options for my pets. I hope they go back to their old model of care because it was great. To me this new CAM emphasis they are using makes them look like a bunch of snake oil salesmen and that is a real shame because they really are good vets.

My 12 year old pit bull mix Dante was unable to bear weight on his left hind leg. After a visit to his regular vet we had no answers to what the problem could be. I found Dr. Maro through an Internet search. Dante has been coming to see her for 4 weeks now and he is better than ever. His leg is much better and they also treated his heart murmur. The staff and Dr's are amazing and so friendly. They explain everything and offer different options that most vets don't offer. I will be bringing Dante here from now on.

My husband and I have gone to several different vets, as we've moved around from many different states. We can honestly say that Dr. Maro and her staff are the best that we have experienced! They have taken interest in our dog, Nakoma, and when we walk in the door for an appointment, everyone greets her by name. Nakoma is genuinely excited to enter the doors of the office, something rarely seen when any of our past dogs went to the vet. The office truly cares for the animals they serve and want to meet their needs. I cannot express my gratitude for one visit in particular. My husband and I got appointment times mixed up and missed our appointment on a Saturday morning. The technician called to follow up about our missed appointment and stayed open an extra hour past closing so that we could bring Nakoma in for her treatment. Not every Veterinarian office would do that! We would definitely (and have on several occasions to our friends) recommend Dr. Maro and all the workers at Cranberry Holistic Pet Care to take care of your pet's health.

I changed foods and he was still vomiting after a few more days, so I got a second opinion. It turns out he had worms and they didn't catch it.

They need to learn to give actual medication and treatment to animals instead of ineffective herbs, oils, acupuncture, and whatever other "natural" treatments they have. My dog died because they were too busy giving her "alternative methods" instead of real medicine and they didn't notice how sick she actually was. I spent hundreds of dollars on tests and medication, and they did absolutely nothing.

I can not sing enough praises of Dr. Maro and the team at Ellwood Animal Hospital(and their sister site in Chippewa). I started bringing my Bernese Mt Dog, Joey, here in May of 2015. He had been diagnosed, by another vet, to have "Flying Snapping" (which is basically mini seizures). I was told that I would have to put him on Phenobarbital, and that he would most likely be on that the rest of his life. This really bothered me, b/c I didn't want to put a 3 year old dog on meds that will wreck his kidneys and liver. I was referred to Dr. Maro, and I am so thankful that I went. She did more studies and discovered that the fly snapping was actually connected to him having hip dysplasia and the beginning of arthritis. We have put him on a more holistic treatment, and it is like having a new dog. He's back to being his wiggly self with no fly snapping.
I will be honest that at the beginning I questioned all the x-rays, and other tests, but I had faith and it was a good thing that I went along with it. So trust her! She knows what she's talking about!
The staff here is absolutely amazing!! Everyone is so friendly, and Joey LOVES all the attention he gets from them! I feel welcome every time I'm there, and when I have (what i'm sure is stupid) questions they are very patient with me and take the time to make sure I understand what is happening and why.
If you are looking for a good vet, or just want a second opinion take your pet here. You will be really happy that you did

There are far more caring vets with more reasonable prices who actually care about you and your animal and don’t take advantage of you when you’re going through a very bad time already. I actually heard another customer complaining about her while I was in there waiting to see Dr. Jones when he became well and came back. So I know I am not the only one who had this bad experience with Dr Maro.

I was going out to the ellwood city office for treatment for my pet, and was terribly let down by their practice, which seemed to include far more extreme ideas than a regular holistic practice. After an exploratory surgery, The vet suggested that my cat may have been allergic to sutures that were still inside him, and held the suture material up against his outside, suggesting that merely by touching the suture material to his skin, the allergic reaction could be counteracted. When he stayed after the surgery, i was called in, and he was unceremoniously dumped in my arms in a critical state. They wanted him out of there before he died. And we both got the heave ho. Pay the bill first before you see the cat, please..... And the prices were extreme. Yet another vet who gouges poeple who love their pets and have the money to pay. At that time, i called maro a fraud, a hoax and a charlantan. Time has not improved my evaluation of her. Hey dr maro, i took kitty to a real vet at the Surgery specialty clinic. And they repaired your damage. He lived a healthy life for years afterwards. Avoid this quack.

Dr. Maro and the staff at Ellwood Animal Hospital are all professional and courteous. My cat received wonderful, holistic and conventional care. My cat had a severely broken jaw. Dr. Maro gave me an estimate which was hundreds under the other estimates I had been given. That included surgery, medications, and supplements. Dr. Maro explained that he may need further surgery, but she tried to keep the procedure minimal. It's a week after surgery and my kitty is doing very well! I'm grateful to Dr. Maro and her excellent staff and techs.
Dr. Maro is very knowledgeable and utilizes an array of modalities including: acupuncture, herbs, and chiropractic. I will continue to use this vet in the future. Thank you!

My poodle mix was attacked by a neighborhood dog. My usual vet is 45 minutes away and there was no way he would have survived the car ride there. I called the Ellwood Animal Hospital in a panic and within minutes my dog was being treated. My dog survived his vicious attack; I am 100% certain it was only because of Dr. Maro and her wonderful vetinary staff. I don’t even have the words to say how appreciative and grateful I am.
I was also never given false hope; Dr. Maro explained the extent of his injuries and the majority of the time they are fatal. It was my choice to do anything and everything necessary to help save his life. I was also given quotes so I would be made aware of the financial obligation whether or not he survived. For all of the medical attention he received, the total cost was not exorbitant. I Absolutely feel it was appropriate for the services he was provided. I cannot reiterate enough how thankful I am for all the Ellwood Animal Hospital did for my dog. Truly a miracle!

Dr. Maro has helped us with all of our Japanese Chin over the past decade. I can't say enough good things about the staff there and the treatments that have helped each of our dogs to live the best lives that they possibly could. We are forever grateful for the care they receive. I wouldn't think of taking my dogs elsewhere, even for the "routine" stuff. We've experienced almost all of the services they have to offer - both holistic and traditional and they are the best. I mu...st say that getting your dog spayed or neutered there is excellent - my dogs are up and running around the day after and heal so quickly! We get holistic treatments regularly and I am certain that has improved each of our dogs' lives. The comfort measures that they have been able to provide for our aging dogs helped our dogs enjoy a better & longer quality of life. The vet techs & assistants are super - we love them all. We had a lab who was bleeding from her nose. She sneezed a lot and blood would be everywhere. We took her to Dr. Maro, and she discovered that our dog had tumors in her nose. She said surgery would be very expensive and the tumors could always return. We had 4 young children and really couldn't afford thousands of dollars for surgery on our beloved pet. Dr. Maro suggested we try various herbal remedies and supplements. I was skeptical but desperate to try anything that might help. Within 3 months of starting the supplements, the bleeding had completely stopped and our five year old lab had regained her pep! Eight months later, Dr. Maro put a scope in the dog's nose and there was no sign of tumors! Our dog lived six more healthy years. When the time came to have her put down, Dr. Maro and her staff were compassionate and even sent us a sympathy card. We trust Dr. Maro and appreciate her expertise, compassion and knowledge of pets!

We have been going to Dr. Maro for many years for our various cats. She and the staff have always been helpful and courteous to us and our cats, even when they were not so happy to be there! They have also been very compassionate when the news was not so great. Our most recent cat was diagnosed with cancer and Dr. Maro did everything possible for her. In the end, we knew that we had done all we could for her, and we will be forever grateful for the care she received. I would definitely trust them with any future pets we may add to our family.

Between her, Dr. Anelu, and Dr. Wong we have had excellent care for all of our four legged furry children. I found Dr. Maro through an online search for veterinary specialists. I attended the Grand Opening of the Cranberry location and took a tour of the facility. Not long after this, I brought my 10 year old German Shorthaired Pointer, Ace, in for a full evaluation/consultation with Dr. Maro. He has arthritis and a dislocated shoulder and I wanted to see what options were available to help him as much as I possibly can. I have never had a veterinarian who is more thorough than Dr. Maro (and her staff as well). Dr. Maro asked alot of questions and really listened to my answers. This began a series of treatments for Ace including blood work, acupuncture, rainbow treatments, laser therapy, an echocardiogram and a CAT scan. Every time we go to the office for one of Ace's treatments every member of the staff knows who Ace is and they greet him by name. They are so great with him. It is always very easy to get an appointment and I have regularly gotten next day appointments for his treatment sessions. I would recommend anyone (and I have given recommendations to my friends) to Dr. Maro and Cranberry Holistic Pet Care. As a result of the treatments Ace has received, he has become like a new dog. He is so much more mobile than before, he is running again, you can actually see it on his face that he's so much happier than before. I can't thank Dr. Maro and her staff enough for everything they've done and continue to do for Ace.

I have the utmost respect for vets at the practice. They know their stuff. My pets had been seeing them since the late 90s. I have noticed a big shift in how they treat pets. Before it seemed like they were traditional vets that offered some holistic practices (e.g., acupuncture, laser, massage, etc.) now it seems that the holistic/CAM is at the forefront. It's too big of a shift for me and it's not what I am looking for in a vet or as treatment options for my pets. I hope they go back to their old model of care because it was great. To me this new CAM emphasis they are using makes them look like a bunch of snake oil salesmen and that is a real shame because they really are good vets.

My 12 year old pit bull mix Dante was unable to bear weight on his left hind leg. After a visit to his regular vet we had no answers to what the problem could be. I found Dr. Maro through an Internet search. Dante has been coming to see her for 4 weeks now and he is better than ever. His leg is much better and they also treated his heart murmur. The staff and Dr's are amazing and so friendly. They explain everything and offer different options that most vets don't offer. I will be bringing Dante here from now on.

My husband and I have gone to several different vets, as we've moved around from many different states. We can honestly say that Dr. Maro and her staff are the best that we have experienced! They have taken interest in our dog, Nakoma, and when we walk in the door for an appointment, everyone greets her by name. Nakoma is genuinely excited to enter the doors of the office, something rarely seen when any of our past dogs went to the vet. The office truly cares for the animals they serve and want to meet their needs. I cannot express my gratitude for one visit in particular. My husband and I got appointment times mixed up and missed our appointment on a Saturday morning. The technician called to follow up about our missed appointment and stayed open an extra hour past closing so that we could bring Nakoma in for her treatment. Not every Veterinarian office would do that! We would definitely (and have on several occasions to our friends) recommend Dr. Maro and all the workers at Cranberry Holistic Pet Care to take care of your pet's health.

They need to learn to give actual medication and treatment to animals instead of ineffective herbs, oils, acupuncture, and whatever other "natural" treatments they have. My dog died because they were too busy giving her "alternative methods" instead of real medicine and they didn't notice how sick she actually was. I spent hundreds of dollars on tests and medication, and they did absolutely nothing.

I can not sing enough praises of Dr. Maro and the team at Ellwood Animal Hospital(and their sister site in Chippewa). I started bringing my Bernese Mt Dog, Joey, here in May of 2015. He had been diagnosed, by another vet, to have "Flying Snapping" (which is basically mini seizures). I was told that I would have to put him on Phenobarbital, and that he would most likely be on that the rest of his life. This really bothered me, b/c I didn't want to put a 3 year old dog on meds that will wreck his kidneys and liver. I was referred to Dr. Maro, and I am so thankful that I went. She did more studies and discovered that the fly snapping was actually connected to him having hip dysplasia and the beginning of arthritis. We have put him on a more holistic treatment, and it is like having a new dog. He's back to being his wiggly self with no fly snapping.
I will be honest that at the beginning I questioned all the x-rays, and other tests, but I had faith and it was a good thing that I went along with it. So trust her! She knows what she's talking about!
The staff here is absolutely amazing!! Everyone is so friendly, and Joey LOVES all the attention he gets from them! I feel welcome every time I'm there, and when I have (what i'm sure is stupid) questions they are very patient with me and take the time to make sure I understand what is happening and why.
If you are looking for a good vet, or just want a second opinion take your pet here. You will be really happy that you did
