Thought I could like this place but I guess I’m wrong. My cat recently had an exam because of concern with build up in her ears. 2 weeks later I wanted her thyroid checked because of symptoms I was seeing at home... they quoted $64 for the test and $58 for exam... I argued that she had just recently been examined so they came back with it just costing the test fee then. I stayed for the results because if she was positive I was wanting to go ahead and get on meds. She turned out negative but the doctor came in to give the results and RECHECK her ears (which I’ll admit I had still expressed concern over). My bill upon leaving was $113... $64 for test and $49 for RE-check. A full exam is $58 Quite sneaky... and I could’ve had the test and FULL exam done at Twinbrook for $95 total. I had called around for quotes before deciding to use the vet that was already somewhat familiar with my cat... Side note: I was told that the recheck could range $27-$49 depending on how long it took and what the vet “wanted” to charge. Silly me, I didn’t think the lower end of the price range was for 1 minute and the upper end for 5 minutes because that’s about all the time the doctor spent with us. And I guess it didn’t matter that we were on time for our appointment but not even taken back to draw blood until 20 minutes after our scheduled time. We won’t be back. Read Less

Long wait, 60+ minutes wait after appointment time, last two visits. Although I understand delays can happen, it is a major issue because of how we were treated. Marygrace, the staff manager, was rude and claimed that because we were 1 min late, the doctor was 60 min behind. She claims that if we had arrived 1 min earlier, the doctor would not be so far behind. She was dismissive and proud of her rudeness. All we asked was to be notified that the doctor was behind schedule and she blamed us instead of apologizing for the delay. Very poor service especially to pets and pet owners stressed because the dog is limping and in pain. Read Less

They misdiagnosed my six year old cat twice. Gave her antibiotics for something that they didn't even test her for. Then gave her medication for constipation and said she would be fine. A week later she was not fine and died suddenly. I am very disappointed with this service. Read Less

I have been going to Glenwood for many. many, many years, Just recently my two pets both got hit hard with illnesses. The doctors and staff bent over backwards to help my pets and also to calm me down (they are my kids). They are awesome people at Glenwood Pet Hospital and I would never take my pets anywhere else. If you are looking for a GREAT/CARING veterinary hospital take your pets there. They will get the best care EVER and you will be so pleased. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. I used to be a customer here, but I've taken notice of how poorly the owners treat their staff. It reminds me of a prison! If they treat their own staff that way then how could one ever trust them to treat your pet with love? Avoid at all costs! Read Less

I have been taking our animals here for years and have always had a good experience but my last customer service experience here is making me look for a new vet. Glad we could help them pay for their beautiful new building. Too bad their customer service people don't have that same beautiful attitude. Read Less

Disappointed. Have a cat with Megacolon. The vet wanted to either put her to sleep or spend $400 to $500 on cleaning out her colon. He was not caring at all. This had been our family pet hospital for years. Erie Animal Hospital helped Chloe and she is just fine now..without a huge bill. Read Less

Love the office staff and doctors at Glenwood. Bacon has been their patient since he was a puppy, and 11 years later I'm still so happy with everyone there. My kitty Ellie was a stray and was no more than 3 months old. After a lack of care from other veterinarians, we decided to bring her to the Glenwood Pet Hospital! Ellie received quality care from all of the staff, even the girls at the front desk could answer most questions you had rather than making you pay to come in for an appointment. The staff here is friendly and caring towards you and your pets needs. Ellie unfortunately had to be put down, but our vet Dr. Jewell was very comforting in our decision. She even gave Ellie a pain med to get her through the night out of her own pocket! After we put our baby to sleep we received a hand written card two days later from Dr. Jewell and the staff expressing their sympathies. I highly recommend this vet to anybody. Read Less

I called Glenwood, having never been there before, and expected a hassle in getting an exotic pet in to be euthanized on short notice on a Friday afternoon. I was mistaken, and I was so very pleased with their service. Not only did they get me in essentially immediately, their staff was kind and compassionate, to my pet, and to myself. I was allowed a private room to sit with him to say goodbye before they took him back for the procedure, and when they brought him back to me, they were treating his body with just as much respect as they did when he was alive. The fee for the procedure was probably far less than they should be charging, and I appreciated that, to me it said that they care more about the animals than they do money. I highly recommend this vet, especially if you have an exotic pet. Read Less

I had my big baby Gandalf there on Thursday (2/18), he hadn't been acting "right" for a few days & had been walking around gagging/dry heaving for a few days. It was a first time visit for us, & I was pleased with our experience. The vet was very nice & took her time examining my big kitty. Gave him medication for tapeworms, as she couldn't find anything else wrong with him, & also sent home extra for the other kitties as well. It's 2 days later & he's back to his usual self, so YAY!! I guess the staff & other appointments after him that day got a real "kick" out of his name as well, haha!! Will def. go back whenever I need to!! Read Less

They put in my phone number incorrectly in their system so they couldn't tell me my cat had worms after testing positive in his stool sample. They said they would only call me if it came back positive so I assumed it was negative. a month passes and I find tapeworms coming out of him and call them and they said they've had my medication on the shelf for a month. They sent out a letter to contact me but it never came. Will not be taking my newly worm-infested cat there again. Read Less

We've been bringing our dogs here for the last couple of years. Since we had just moved across the country, I found them by calling 5-7 vets in the area and going with the cheapest option (Glenwood), so I was a little concerned at first. There was no need to worry. The staff and vets at Glendwood have been great, especially Dr. Jewel. They always listen to all of my concerns! I don't have to rush or worry something has been forgotten. They also explain everything very clearly and ask open-ended questions to make sure they were understood. I had to make an emergency appointment for my cat and called all the surrounding vet clinics just to be rejected. They got me in quickly and we're extremely efficient! My cat was very sick and the staff were so friendly and cheerful to assure me he would be okay. About 5 different people were involved in my visit and I was amazed that they all knew the same info about what was going on. No confusion, no asking the same questions over and over. I have been taking my two dogs to Glenwood for about 8 years now since I moved back to Erie. The doctors all seem on the younger side, and that is not a bad thing when it comes to medicine! They have always spent time with me discussing my dogs health, and have always answered my questions. Either in person, or later on the phone.  As my dogs have aged they've had some special needs and the staff at Glenwood has always been patient and helpful. One of my dogs has had to have multiple surgeries, everything from the routine spay, to mass removals and tooth extractions. I admit to being somewhat of an over protective doggie mommy, but they have never tried to take advantage of that just to make a buck! Which is always appreciated.In the last year I have noticed the wait times, even with an appointment, have been down right awful. I think because they are opened later than most, people try and elbow their way in at the last minute so they don't have to pay double at the ER Vet right down the road. I always have later appointments on a weekday, so I have run into this quite a bit because if my own work schedule. It's hard to feel angry about waiting when a genuine emergency comes in. I have seen girls at the front desk politely listen to the patients before firmly tell non-emergencies that they were in fact NOT emergencies. They are definitely in control of it, but because their office is the closest one to the Vet ER I think it's something all late night appointments are going to run into. On my days off or on the weekend they have always got me in and out lickety split, and otherwise I think they're more than worth the wait. We started going to Dr. Pulumbo just over a year ago, we had an english bulldog who went into labor on a saturday who needed an emergency c-section, we called other vets who said to try & either wait until Monday to section the pups or who said their saturday scedule was too busy but... When we called Dr. Pulumbo she asked how many days pregnant our dog was, asked us her syntims, then rearranged her busy saturday schedule to c-section these pups, there were 9 pups (huge litter for a bully) and most were above the expected weight at delivery. I feel if not for her and her professional judgement, that these pups would of been water pups by Monday & the Mom dog probly would of died waiting. Once these pups were sectioned we had one pup befor 2 weeks of age develop breathing problems and would not eat, Dr. Pulombo went above and beyond her duties and took this pup to her house on a weekend to try and hand feed her and save her. The pup did not make it but how wonderful knowing that someone so caring went out of her way by taking the pup home to try & save her.
