Absolutely love this vet. I've taken my dog there since I got him as a puppy and he's now three years old. I really like this vet- they are extremely honest about what treatments are necessary and what are not. They don't scam you into unnecessary things just to make money. Dr. Greg is my favorite! He's always so direct, so good with my dog, and he's kind. Very sorry to report our family is less than pleased with our recent transaction, and we very likely will leave this Vet.  To this point everyone we met in person has been nice at the Vet.  However, we recently had our dog undergo surgery and as part of that process we received a very inexpensive plastic head cone.  After spending thousands of dollars getting the pup taken care of, this is where we expect a reasonable degree of logical customer service.  A couple days after the procedure the provided cone broke in half due to normal wear.  We called the pet office and asked if they would provide a courtesy replacement.  A less than inviting operated stated, in a relatively gruffy voice, you can have a replacement...but for $22 more.  Now we fully realize nothing is free in this life, but really, $22 more after a expensive operation for what amounts to a less than $3 cost to Affordable Pet Care for a cheap plastic head cone made in China?  Trust us 100% when we say this, it's not the cost of the cone itself, but likely Affordable Pet Cares knowing these cheap cones are prone to failure and even the nerve asking to hit the customer up for another fee on top of everything we already paid.  Simply put, not cool in our book.  Thinking back, we originally went to this Vet thinking we would receive a small town feel, but this character test on their part proved to our family at least their "values" are really no different than cold hearted, big box corporate operations like PetsMart or PetCo.  The only differentiator is Affordable Pet Care is just physically smaller.  File in line...next please. The staff was very nice however Dr. Kelly wasn't very accommodating to my dog which is a pit/lab mix and very wound up especially because she was at the doctors! Made a comment that she needed a sedative the next time we come. Eh just not such a great personality I guess. I'll choose the other vet the next time how about that! And truthfully it's not that affordable every time we come. Great marketing tool to call it affordable veterinary. Have yet to find a vet that's affordable. My family and I had used Affordable Care for many years and it was my first choice when moving back into the area for my Anatolian Shepherd. It had been 6 or 7 years since I had to put my beloved Bo down due to old age and Dr Stevenson was the most compassionate man I knew. He had also cared for my sheltie 20 years ago and when he found cancer, he held my hand through it. To my surprise not only is it a new building but is under new ownership. I do not know how the care is, I never got past the front desk. While updating my information the receptionist asked if my dog was neutered. When I explained to her that the breeders of this giant breed of dog recommended waiting to allow full development to neuter him and it was something we wanted to discuss doing now, I was laughed at and ridiculed for making such a stupid decision. I let it go and continued, feeling it was just maybe lack of education on her part. I have a BSN and practiced nursing for 25 years and understand not everyone has a medical background to understand the role of hormones in the body. I noticed some kittens in cages at the office and asked if they were up for adoption, which was answered by her with a yes. I stated that perhaps when I go to adopt a cat for the barn ( we have 25 acres with horses and donkey) I would call to inquire. She immediately scoffed at that stating “ we have an indoor only contract”. When I asked why, she sneered “I want them to live a long healthy life!” At this point I could only shake my head, I informed her I have had multiple barn cats that have lived long healthy lives and one that lived to be 21 years of age. At this point I am having my doubts but decide just to meet the vet and make my decision from there. I ask to use the restroom and after head to the car to wait with my dog. I walked out of the restroom to hear her in a very loud voice once again criticizing and ridiculing my decision to not have my dog neutered sooner in the waiting room, to which I walked outside to collect my thoughts. At that point I informed the person at the desk that I will be canceling Shilohs appointment and I did not appreciated the way I was treated. To which she did come out and apologize but at that point I realized this is NOT the same kind, compassionate vet practice it once was. There is no reason to go anywhere else. Really. It was my first time there with my dog, and is now my go to place. They're generally great about getting you in when you call. Everyone is friendly and helpful. As with any vet vs. the shelter, obviously the vet is going to charge more for vaccinations and spaying/neutering. But their prices are on par with every other vet, imo. Read Less

We are so happy we found this clinic. The people are so friendly, the appointments are easy to schedule, and the care has been great. Plus, it's very clean and so pretty inside! The room where my cats have been seen has a window to a courtyard area with a bird feeder. I find that's awesome so my cats don't feel so trapped and frightened. We recently rescued several feral cats and kittens, and are systematically taking them in for shots and neutering/spaying. I have recommended this clinic to all of my friends and a couple have already taken my suggestion and came away with the same positive opinion. Read Less

We decided, after 3 other vet/doctors, to listen to my sister and give Dr. Gregg a shot. Never been more happy! We rescued a dog last Sunday who came to us with a battery of problems and figured, well, here goes a mortgage payment... From the greeting we got walking into the front door, to the tech, to the doc...OUTSTANDING!!! Worried and scared to death our rescue was going to freak out and bite everyone, we were shocked! The staff was comfortable and calm and the exam, shots, and treatment were without incident. The price was well below what we ever imagined too! They are always helpful and great with my dogs! Reasonably priced and very knowledgeable. Almost lost my Lucy at age 3, brought her in and Dr Novelli diagnozed her with Addisons Disease. I have been seeing Dr. Greg Novelli for almost 10 years now. In that time frame, he and his wife and staff have lovingly cared for 3 of my beloved pets. They continually show us professionalism, while also loving our fur-babies vivaciously. Recently, our oldest dog (12.5 years) has experienced some health issues, and the staff has been nothing short of amazing, answering all our questions, promptly scheduling us and refilling medications, and calling into check on them. My dog recently had surgery which included teeth cleaning (and they were a mess) and a lump/more like mass on his left thigh removed. His. teeth are beautiful now (and I thought he would be coming home with half of them missing!) and Dr. Novelli removed the mass beautifully. My dog is acting like a puppy now! I expected my bill to be much more and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't break the bank! I am sure elsewhere, all of this would have been much more expensive. I cannot say enough nice things about the doctors and staff here. They were all so caring and gentle with my cat Bella. And after finding out she needed dental surgery plus had kidney disease and had to stay for four days I thought my bill would be in the thousands. Definitely "affordable" care. We found this clinic after a friend I had worked with at a different clinic(an awful one) started at Affordable. I have dealt with MANY clinics and vets throughout my life with dogs and horses. I've also worked at 3 different vet clinics. If I could give them MORE stars I would. I have been involved in Pug rescue for 5 years and some of the dogs come in very bad shape. The vets at Affordable fix them right up. I also have a semi-paralyzed 5 year old Pug I adopted 3 years ago, along with 2 'angel' fosters with advanced disc disease. They are treated 'special'. Honor to give the  first review. Dr. Greg and his staff saved my baby Lexi's life. At the other Vet clinic we used since she was a puppy, I spent over $1,000 to get a diagnosis (based on x-ray) of a bladder stone. Prior they did the bare basic exam and prescribed months of antibiotics for a UTI. I had to press for x-rays. Then they gave me a quote over $2000 for surgery. I prayed and did more internet searches and found Affordable Care. The  staff is polite, helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. I took my cocker spaniel to be looked at because she was urinating repeatedly and always thirsty. Let me remind you that she was so happy and full of energy before I took her. They said blood work would cost $140 that's not Affordable to me but whatever.. Then they came back $255 later that she has diabetes and that they need to provide her an anti vomiting shot. Well that shot affected her and made her weak and couldn't walk. I brought her home and she quit eating, we attempted to feed her by liquids and that didn't work. 2 days later she passed away. All from an anti vomiting shot. Thanks for taking our precious Clara Belle away from us for good. I do not wish anyone to have to go through this. Read Less

My Rat Terrier, Roxy had trouble breathing. I took her to three local Vets and was told it was nothing to worry about just a collapsing trachea. She got progressively worse and started passing out. I took her to Finleyville and Dr Greg diagnosed her within minutes with a paralyzed larynx. He immediately arranged everything for us to rush her to PVSEC where she had surgery the next morning. Because of Dr Greg I had Roxy another 8 years. She just passed away this year. I just got another rescue Rat Terrier and no question, Dr Greg will be her Vet too. Read Less

I visited the Affordable Care Vet Clinic for the very first time with my older Great Dane/Pointer mix named The Dude. The Dude was in pretty bad shape, riddled with arthritis in his hips and spine. I put off going to the vet for a while because I knew the inevitable would have to happen. Dr. Kellie was our Dr. and I believe Ally was our Tech. Long story short, I unfortunately had to lose my best friend that very night and it was extremely painful, however I was overwhelmed by the love and care shown by Ally and Dr. Kellie. I would have recommended the Affordable Care Vet Clinic to anyone I know without hesitation, but my experience did not end there. Yesterday I received a sympathy card from the Clinic for my loss of The Dude. The card was signed by every person at the clinic and small notes were written by Ally and Dr. Kellie. I work with rescues & accepted a large dog with heartworm, a skin condition resulting in the loss of fur and other physical issues. While his current condition is vastly improved since has was first accepted into foster care, he still has a ways to go, and when he arrived at my home this week, I needed to get his baseline & establish a treatment regimen. At Affordable Care Vet Clinic, I was verbally berated by a vet tech carrying on over how SLOW KILL is wrong and the doxy and heart guard was inadequate...etc,,,,.Additionally, she was holding me accountable for the rough shape poor he is in and continued to question why "I" took so long to get him to the vet. Yes, a Vet Tech....I told her that apparently we had a communication issue and that I wanted another Vet Tech to complete the prelim assessment. The practice knew of his condition, as I provided all info over the phone when I made the appointment yesterday. I had requested a price estimate 2 weeks ago for HW treatment on a 60-65 lb dog. Never heard from them. The Vet came in and started yelling at me because I refused this particular vet tech..... so Henry and I just walked out. I don't know what the drama was about but I chose not to be part of it. Not worth it...ya know? Life is too short. Dr. Novelli and his staff are wonderful with my dog Tori and I. Tori is a larger Pitbull/Boxer/Lab mix and can be a little intimidating at first until you get to know her. I have tried and taken her many places to get her nails trimmed with little to no success. She just is terrified to let anyone touch her pawls and how strong she is just makes it a battle. The first time i took Tori to Dr. Novelli she needed to get some routine vaccines and her dreaded nails cut. I was hesitant to ask the staff at Affordable Care to trim her nails just because of recent experiences and embarrassment. Also i know most places make notes in the pets records and somewhat label them as a "problem". Finally during the exam I asked Dr. Novelli if we can try to trim her nails and warned him of the way she reacts. To this day i have never seen Tori be more comfortable getting her nails trimmed by Dr. Novelli and his staff. The former battling process was over in a blink of a eye with little to no reaction from Tori. I knew right then this clinic was something special. I will never take my pets to another vet clinic again, nor will i attempt to trim her nails. It is a little bit of a drive for me to get there but i don't think twice about making an appointment. Scheduling was a breeze and pricing was not a issue either i think Affordable Vet Clinic is cheaper then most. Furthermore I TRUST Dr. Novelli and his staff and that really is the biggest thing when choosing a provider for a loved one.Read Less
