My husband's dog Apollo has been having gastrointestinal issues off and on for the past few weeks. The vet told him not to worry about intestinal parasites and instead of offering any other veterinary advice, pushed expensive flea medicine on him when she knew Apollo already has expensive flea medicine. Since his visit two days ago, Apollo has become lethargic to the point he can barely keep his eyes open, so we will be taking him to Mountain Top to get a second opinion. I myself have never taken a pet to NEAH, and I advised my husband against it. Now he knows why. I would not recommend this practice.

someone gave this advice to me, when Dr. Deb did not know what was wrong with my dog over a month and Dr. Kathio handed me everything in writing what was wrong in 48 hrs.

Northeast animal hospital is one of the best vets I have been too! I'm a college student who can't afford a lot of the vet bills I get. My shitzu is sick with bladder stones and she needed multiple surgeries and they put me on a payment plan and really worked with me. There's no rush to pay and you can make up your own payments. She's really good with my dogs and they love her. I will always go here!

Happy New Year.. When you go trough life and are privileged to get a great doctor for yourself you are lucky. When you get a great doctor for your family member/companion you are blessed. In Dr. Debs office,,your companions are not treated as a number or just a something.They are treated with respect and compassion. I could not be more pleased that Angel and Oreo had the best of care and Zeus, Barley and Houdini are getting the best of care now. My 10 year old Lab was dying of bladder cancer. We had kept her going a few months longer with antibiotics, but one Saturday morning, when my regular vet was unreachable, I couldn't stand to see her suffer anymore. It was bad. I called N.E. and was told that they would be in until noon and not a minute more. I rushed her over and the vet came out to my truck. As she was administering the meds and my dog was dying she looked at me and said " If you had brought her here in the first place we wouldn't be doing this right now" and "People who can't afford to take care of an animal shouldn't have one". For one thing, what vet, with any compassion, would make that statement at that time and why in the world would you promote surgery for a 10 year old dog with cancer? It had already been discussed and was not a matter of cost, it was quality of life after surgery. Thank you so much for those words, they have remained with me for many years and every time I hear your name or see an ad I remember them. I would never bring my animals to you for anything.

Dr. Torstrup and her staff are so caring, loving and compassionate. You can feel and see the care! Love and compassion. This office isn't all about the money like other veterinarians. They actually care about your pets like they were their own. Saving one kitten and losing one of my older cats in the same day was very traumatic and heartbreaking but Dr. Torstrup really impressed me with saving my 3 month old kitten and taking the time with my older cat to spend time with her before she went to Heaven. Thank you all for being there and caring so much, it is so greatly appreciated.

My German Shepherd was hit by a car less than an hour ago right outside my house when she shot out the door. The Police Officer told my fiance to get her right to the vet, so he put her in the car and went to Northeast Animal Hospital and was refused because he did not have payment on him, he would have come home and gotten a check from me once she was treated.
There are many people in this town that say NEVER take your dog to her but this was an extreme emergency and my poor hurt dog was refused because of money.
What about the oath this Vet took to alleviate the suffering of animals? Wow.

The vet told him not to worry about intestinal parasites and instead of offering any other veterinary advice, pushed expensive flea medicine on him when she knew Apollo already has expensive flea medicine. Dr. Torstrup and her staff are so caring, loving and compassionate. You can feel and see the care! Love and compassion. This office isn't all about the money like other veterinarians. They actually care about your pets like they were their own. Saving one kitten and losing one of my older cats in the same day was very traumatic and heartbreaking but Dr. Torstrup really impressed me with saving my 3 month old kitten and taking the time with my older cat to spend time with her before she went to Heaven. Thank you all for being there and caring so much, it is so greatly appreciated.

Without a doubt, the best vet in the Hazleton Area. They were so kind and took great care of my baby girl when she had to get one of her eyes removed. It's been one week and my cat doesn't even seem to notice her stitches. They did an amazing job!

My German Shepherd was hit by a car less than an hour ago right outside my house when she shot out the door. The Police Officer told my fiance to get her right to the vet, so he put her in the car and went to Northeast Animal Hospital and was refused because he did not have payment on him, he would have come home and gotten a check from me once she was treated.
There are many people in this town that say NEVER take your dog to her but this was an extreme emergency and my poor hurt dog was refused because of money.
What about the oath this Vet took to alleviate the suffering of animals? Wow.

Dr. Deb has been our vet for a long time and I would not take my animals anywhere else. Her and her staff not only care about our pets but the family as a whole.
