I've been bringing all 4 of my animals here for over 10 years and I've NEVER once had anything less then a stellar experience. My pets have all had the very best care, between them all we've gone thru surgeries, terminal illness, emergency situations, routine care and everything in between. My animals are my children and if they were anything less then the best possible care, I would move on but frankly, there is no better place to take your furry family members. Dr Lukof is the best doctor I've ever dealt with providing the most thorough and compassionate care I've seen, I've been thru at least 10 vets in 30 years and I can absolutely say THERE is NO BETTER PLACE. Their costs are reasonable as I've found pretty much every other vet in the area to be around double their costs and they are a top of the one facility with many services provided in house. I've never been turned away for an emergency and I've had several of those , no matter what the time or day, even holiday, I've always been treated with the utmost respect and care. I've been updated every 2-4 hours if my pet has stayed and always received follow up calls and care, I just can't say enough good things about them.

You should carefully consider using these folks to treat your pet if they are severely ill. I have taken my cat there 3 times and they've stabilized him each time. However, nobody has yet to speak to me about what is wrong with him, what disease does he have, is this the "new nor all", what is the prognosis, are there any meds that would help, nothing. After spending over $2,000 on my beloved cat, I had the audacity to request a 10 minute face to face conversation with the doctor about what is going on. Well, it seems that a face to face will cost you MORE MONEY as there is a "consultation fee" for a face to face....really?? $2,000 is not enough for these people. Good luck!!

Took my 2 year old chihuahua to them for a neuter and a lump removal. I'm very pleased with the vet I had and the girls at the front desk were very nice. They explain pricing to you step by step so there's no surprises. My baby had to stay over night which is their policy for a neuter. I called numerous times to check on him and they took the time to talk to me and tell me what he was doing and if he ate or not. I will be taking my pets there from now on. Also it's very clean and you don't wait forever to see the vet. Show up at your appointment time and maybe wait 10-15 mins until you see the vet, at other places I've waited upwards to an hour even with an appointment.

They were rude to me on the phone and said my dog could not be seen for several days, even after I explained the situation and my concerns. For a large hospital with an emergency department, I’m incredibly disappointed with their lack of availability and response to me. I had high hopes after reading all the great reviews, that they would be accommodating, but they were not. When I asked if anything sooner was available, the woman on the line got very rude and said no, not even for an emergency. I fail to see how something is an emergency if it can wait several days.

So I called Harleysville and they were able to get me in within 2 hours (although I don't think they take new clients as emergencies normally). I am thankful they were able to do this, as I was pretty worried (and going on vacation the next day). Turned out, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. We love Harleysville! The staff is amazing, very attentive to you and your pets needs, and always come out with a smile when it your turn. One of the better vets in the area. Worth the drive. We deal with Dr. Wagner who is great with our cats, never over charged us or pushes us to spend more than we can afford. He always seems to have the best interest in our pets. I take away a star with some of the front desk help as a few are difficult to deal with some days and others when I call to have meds called in to CVS, I almost always have to call back and remind them.

We have been going to Harleysville for 16 years. I was referred there years ago and found out it was much less expensive than two of the vets closer to my home. I asked the owner why he was so much less and he said he wanted vet care to be affordable for everyone. I told him he just got my business for life. The doctors there are professional, well trained, and caring. We especially like Dr. Hawkins. We have owned many animals and before finding Harleysville had gone to a number of different veterinary hospitals and none even came close to the care and value we get now.

Can't say enough good things about this office. They're the most honest and caring practice around not to mention their prices are the most reasonable as well. My little big guy had to go in for a tooth extraction. They made him feel right at home and took great care of him, also cleaned the rest of his teeth and did a nail trim! They have a customer and a patient for life I will drive 40 minutes and pass multiple vets to come here as well as tell all my friends and family to come here with their fur babies. It honestly makes me happy that there is a place like this that doesn't take advantage of you financially and offers top notch care for your pets which are family. Keep it up! Your office is by far the best around!

Harleysville Vet Hospital is totally deserving of the raves they've received so far and of mine too! While I only recently got a dog and started bringing him here my family has treated all our animals here for about a decade. They've helped us maneuver difficult questions around amputations, figured out cost effective ways to treat chronic allergy issues in an aging cat, and diagnosed cancer relatively early in two dogs, allowing us to watch for signs of suffering and alleviate pain as long as possible. They really seem to care about you and your pet, are knowledgeable in care options and recommendations, and are courteous and helpful with setting appointments, getting products/prescriptions, and checking in/out. What more can you ask for from your friendly neighborhood vet? Definitely the first choice for pet care!

We started coming here after being extremely unhappy with our current vet and it has so far been a great decision! We've only seen Dr. Kelly and Dr. Carpenter and both were very compassionate and thorough to our little furbabies. We mainly see Dr. Carpenter now and she always takes the time to answer our questions and explains everything in detail. We never feel rushed. The front office staff are equally as nice. Sometimes it can take a little while to check out depending on how many people are checking in/out but the staff does well to expedite as much as possible. We love it here!

We've lost a few pets, which is never easy, but when it has occurred they've really embraced us to help us through it.

EXTREMELY UPSET with this vet hospital. Took my dog there to be spayed and was quoted $450. When I went to pick up my dog- the girl who released her to me knew absolutely nothing about my dog and was completely clueless. She told me to give my dog double the pain medicine that was actually supposed to be given, and told me to call the office the next day to figure out what her recovery would be like because she didn't know. Just completely clueless. Anyways, a few days later I get a bill in the mail for $763 for the surgery and Harleysville won't do anything about it except apologize for quoting me $450. Clueless liars work there. I would not suggest to anyone, and my dog or any animal I own will never be going here again.

I've been bringing my dogs here since 1995. I guess that says it all....21 years and counting. And I don't live close by, so it's a trip for me. The care here is excellent from both the Vets and the Staff. They all go the extra mile in caring for your pet, especially during some rough times.
I'd like to give a shout-out to Dr. Wagner for his outstanding attitude of respect toward the "parents." No question is too simple to ask, and he takes the time to make sure you've got all your answers.....not to mention his outstanding skills.
Run, don't walk, to Harleysville Vet Hospital. It will be one of the best decisions you'll ever make.

This place is great! I will go back here in a heartbeat. I have been to vets all over the area for everything from checkups, to shots, to having a professional vet examine my dogs and cats concerns.Harleysville vet is honest and adorable. Not sure if it is because we were dealing with the one of the owners or not, but they really seam to care. They also dont seem to take advantage but making you drain your wallet as most of these places do.My pet needed a tooth extraction and full dental scan/cleaning. After running blood work a few weeks prior and then even before the schedule appoint including being place under anesthesia, they opted not to continue because they were more concerned about glucose levels.I feel like the other two places we visited for this same issue would have just moved forward placing my pet at risk. They both wanted an upward of around $800, Harleysville was around $400 total on two different trips.Dr. Wagner even cared enough to do some research in between talking to me in the morning and when we picked up our pet in the afternoon which I greatly appreciated.

The vets are polite and competent.
The receptionists do a good job.
As for any animal hospital I just wish the costs would be less.

My family and I have been going to this vet for over 20 years, and most of our experiences have been great. I do trust them. However, my most recent experience caused a lot of unnecessary inconvenience that could have easily been avoided. The vet called me saying she wanted to do a urinalysis on my dog. She didn't tell me how much urine to bring in, that it should be the first urine of the day or that it had to be within 24 hours. When I called to find out the amount needed for testing, I was told the office had collection containers that were marked to show measurement. The next day, after bringing in the urine I collected and being told it might not work because it was slightly over 24 hours, I asked for one of their containers and was told they didn't have any. Still, they took the 24+ hour sample I had and told me they would let me know. Now I don't know if this test will be accurate, and so I'll probably end up paying for another.

They are the best and most reasonably priced vet in this area. We bring all of our pets here. It's a very, very busy office, but it's managed very well. Sometimes the wait times for check out get kind of long, but they are going as fast and as efficiently as they can...it's just really busy. All of the doctors we've seen are kind and knowledgeable. The techs are great and the admin/front desk folks are so patient and efficient.

I absolutely LOVE Harleysville Veterinary Hospital!! I have been taking my 2 dogs here for the past 6 years and always receive excellent and prompt care. The entire staff is super friendly and professional. I have never had a problem getting an appointment-even last minute. The place is spotless too. The receptionists are always kind, especially in stressful situations. My lab has had 2 separate overnight stays for injury/illness and they were so compassionate and reassuring. I feel their fees are extremely reasonable. They call quickly after procedures and explain things to you. I don't have a single bad word to say about them. My 2 girls are my life-they mean everything to me. I am so happy to have this wonderful practice to bring them to.

I feel their fees are extremely reasonable. They call quickly after procedures and explain things to you. I don't have a single bad word to say about them. My 2 girls are my life-they mean everything to me. I am so happy to have this wonderful practice to bring them to.

We've been taking our pets to Harleysville Vet. Hospital for 20 years and we've met almost all of the vets on staff. Even though the women working at the desk are extremely busy they are always respectful and patient. They are all very kind and respectful to us and our pets. They are very conscious to our financial expenses as well. They care deeply about the people and their pets. We feel blessed to have such a wonderful place close to home to take our pets to.

I will never forget when over a year ago Dr. Brown had to put down my beloved German Shepherd, Hannah. Dr. Brown had been Hannah's Vet since she was a pup and actually had tears in her eyes when we said our good-byes. She shared her own personal losses which provided much comfort and support. I am happy to say that Dr. Brown is my new puppy's doc and we are looking forward to many years of health and happiness!

All of the other vets that I have met have been professional and offered intelligent solutions to my pets health issues. I have used the services of other Vet Hospitals and find the prices to be very reasonable in comparison. I wouldn't take my pets any where else.

Dr. Brown has been treating both of my dogs for over 5 years. She cared for my mangy, parasite ridden rescue puppy when I adopted her in 2004. She counseled me through the surgery for intervertebral disc disease on my other dog, provided excellent follow up care and even helped me measure my dog for a cart. She performed surgery on my other dog for mast cell cancer and has ALWAYS gone out of her way to answer every question and deliver the answers in a very professional, yet compassionate manner. She takes the time to explain EVERYTHING in detail and give every option. My dogs LOVE her. I could not ask for a better vet. I was referred to her by a friend and I am so lucky to have such a great vet so close to my home. I also take my dog there to get her nails clipped and her ears cleaned. I’ve met most- if not all -of the other vets at this office and do not have a reason to complain about anyone there. As for the cost, vet care is expensive and is one of the biggest considerations when choosing to adopt a pet. Call around, the prices at Harleysville Veterinary Hospital are very competitive and the care is nothing but quality.

I have never had a bad experience at Harleysville Vet. We have been clients for over ten years and have brought an assortment of cats, dogs and bunnies in over the years. I have dealt with many of the doctors on an emergency basis, but our doctor for regular visits has always been Dr Brown. I think she is very knowledgeable and caring. I enjoy her humor, but what's most important is that I really trust her and everyone I've dealt with there with our beloved pets.

Firstly, I am a female, with a VMD degree, not a DVM, and have never seen Heather or her kitten. Secondly, I don't create the policies for the hospital, and am not an owner. She clearly saw a male colleague of mine, and while I am sorry that she had a bad experience, I must say that we do strive to keep our costs down while providing the best quality care. Harleysville Vet was a wonderful place to take my cats a few years back because doctors always had my cats best interests at heart. But, my last visit about 8 weeks ago proved that things have really changed there, and it dissapointed me. I haven't been to the vet in almost a year, and I brought my 4 week old kitten Zoey in for a visit because she was having some bladder issues. The receptionests were rude and not helpful, as they used to be. The doctor that we saw was impersonal and didn't seem like he was interested in helping us. He didn't ask too many questions, and seemed quick to get the visit over with. The office visit rates were very high, and there was no explanation for why our baby was having such difficultly emptying her bladder. The Vet recommended some things for further testing, but with the economy being the way it is, everything was so out of our reach. He said, ""I don't deal with people's financial burdons, I just try to figure out the problem with their pets."" When we asked if there was a way to do these tests in payments, he said, ""We don't put care on credit."" I was so upset. Here I was holding a 4 week old kitten in pain, and she was not getting the help she needed. He stated bluntly before showing us out, ""Well, she'll either out grow it, or she will die. Lets hope for the best."" I looked down at my baby and began to cry. We have now switched vets to Dr. Rossi in Lansdale. Not only were they able to help my now 12 week old toddler kitten, but they offered something called ""Care Credit."" It is like a credit card used for vet visits. We pay monthly, and all my babies have what they need! Hey Doc, guess they do put care on CREDIT! Thanks!

I've been bringing all 4 of my animals here for over 10 years and I've NEVER once had anything less then a stellar experience. My pets have all had the very best care, between them all we've gone thru surgeries, terminal illness, emergency situations, routine care and everything in between. My animals are my children and if they were anything less then the best possible care, I would move on but frankly, there is no better place to take your furry family members. Dr Lukof is the best doctor I've ever dealt with providing the most thorough and compassionate care I've seen, I've been thru at least 10 vets in 30 years and I can absolutely say THERE is NO BETTER PLACE. Their costs are reasonable as I've found pretty much every other vet in the area to be around double their costs and they are a top of the one facility with many services provided in house. I've never been turned away for an emergency and I've had several of those , no matter what the time or day, even holiday, I've always been treated with the utmost respect and care. I've been updated every 2-4 hours if my pet has stayed and always received follow up calls and care, I just can't say enough good things about them.

You should carefully consider using these folks to treat your pet if they are severely ill. I have taken my cat there 3 times and they've stabilized him each time. However, nobody has yet to speak to me about what is wrong with him, what disease does he have, is this the "new nor all", what is the prognosis, are there any meds that would help, nothing. After spending over $2,000 on my beloved cat, I had the audacity to request a 10 minute face to face conversation with the doctor about what is going on. Well, it seems that a face to face will cost you MORE MONEY as there is a "consultation fee" for a face to face....really?? $2,000 is not enough for these people. Good luck!!

Took my 2 year old chihuahua to them for a neuter and a lump removal. I'm very pleased with the vet I had and the girls at the front desk were very nice. They explain pricing to you step by step so there's no surprises. My baby had to stay over night which is their policy for a neuter. I called numerous times to check on him and they took the time to talk to me and tell me what he was doing and if he ate or not. I will be taking my pets there from now on. Also it's very clean and you don't wait forever to see the vet. Show up at your appointment time and maybe wait 10-15 mins until you see the vet, at other places I've waited upwards to an hour even with an appointment.

They were rude to me on the phone and said my dog could not be seen for several days, even after I explained the situation and my concerns. For a large hospital with an emergency department, I’m incredibly disappointed with their lack of availability and response to me. I had high hopes after reading all the great reviews, that they would be accommodating, but they were not. When I asked if anything sooner was available, the woman on the line got very rude and said no, not even for an emergency. I fail to see how something is an emergency if it can wait several days.

We have been going to Harleysville for 16 years. I was referred there years ago and found out it was much less expensive than two of the vets closer to my home. I asked the owner why he was so much less and he said he wanted vet care to be affordable for everyone. I told him he just got my business for life. The doctors there are professional, well trained, and caring. We especially like Dr. Hawkins. We have owned many animals and before finding Harleysville had gone to a number of different veterinary hospitals and none even came close to the care and value we get now.

My little big guy had to go in for a tooth extraction. They made him feel right at home and took great care of him, also cleaned the rest of his teeth and did a nail trim! They have a customer and a patient for life I will drive 40 minutes and pass multiple vets to come here as well as tell all my friends and family to come here with their fur babies. It honestly makes me happy that there is a place like this that doesn't take advantage of you financially and offers top notch care for your pets which are family. Keep it up! Your office is by far the best around!

Harleysville Vet Hospital is totally deserving of the raves they've received so far and of mine too! While I only recently got a dog and started bringing him here my family has treated all our animals here for about a decade. They've helped us maneuver difficult questions around amputations, figured out cost effective ways to treat chronic allergy issues in an aging cat, and diagnosed cancer relatively early in two dogs, allowing us to watch for signs of suffering and alleviate pain as long as possible. They really seem to care about you and your pet, are knowledgeable in care options and recommendations, and are courteous and helpful with setting appointments, getting products/prescriptions, and checking in/out. What more can you ask for from your friendly neighborhood vet? Definitely the first choice for pet care!

We started coming here after being extremely unhappy with our current vet and it has so far been a great decision! We've only seen Dr. Kelly and Dr. Carpenter and both were very compassionate and thorough to our little furbabies. We mainly see Dr. Carpenter now and she always takes the time to answer our questions and explains everything in detail. We never feel rushed. The front office staff are equally as nice. Sometimes it can take a little while to check out depending on how many people are checking in/out but the staff does well to expedite as much as possible. We love it here!

EXTREMELY UPSET with this vet hospital. Took my dog there to be spayed and was quoted $450. When I went to pick up my dog- the girl who released her to me knew absolutely nothing about my dog and was completely clueless. She told me to give my dog double the pain medicine that was actually supposed to be given, and told me to call the office the next day to figure out what her recovery would be like because she didn't know. Just completely clueless. Anyways, a few days later I get a bill in the mail for $763 for the surgery and Harleysville won't do anything about it except apologize for quoting me $450. Clueless liars work there. I would not suggest to anyone, and my dog or any animal I own will never be going here again.

I've been bringing my dogs here since 1995. I guess that says it all....21 years and counting. And I don't live close by, so it's a trip for me. The care here is excellent from both the Vets and the Staff. They all go the extra mile in caring for your pet, especially during some rough times.
I'd like to give a shout-out to Dr. Wagner for his outstanding attitude of respect toward the "parents." No question is too simple to ask, and he takes the time to make sure you've got all your answers.....not to mention his outstanding skills.
Run, don't walk, to Harleysville Vet Hospital. It will be one of the best decisions you'll ever make.

This place is great! I will go back here in a heartbeat. I have been to vets all over the area for everything from checkups, to shots, to having a professional vet examine my dogs and cats concerns.Harleysville vet is honest and adorable. Not sure if it is because we were dealing with the one of the owners or not, but they really seam to care. They also dont seem to take advantage but making you drain your wallet as most of these places do.My pet needed a tooth extraction and full dental scan/cleaning. After running blood work a few weeks prior and then even before the schedule appoint including being place under anesthesia, they opted not to continue because they were more concerned about glucose levels.I feel like the other two places we visited for this same issue would have just moved forward placing my pet at risk. They both wanted an upward of around $800, Harleysville was around $400 total on two different trips.Dr. Wagner even cared enough to do some research in between talking to me in the morning and when we picked up our pet in the afternoon which I greatly appreciated.

The vets are polite and competent.
The receptionists do a good job.
As for any animal hospital I just wish the costs would be less.

My family and I have been going to this vet for over 20 years, and most of our experiences have been great. I do trust them. However, my most recent experience caused a lot of unnecessary inconvenience that could have easily been avoided. The vet called me saying she wanted to do a urinalysis on my dog. She didn't tell me how much urine to bring in, that it should be the first urine of the day or that it had to be within 24 hours. When I called to find out the amount needed for testing, I was told the office had collection containers that were marked to show measurement. The next day, after bringing in the urine I collected and being told it might not work because it was slightly over 24 hours, I asked for one of their containers and was told they didn't have any. Still, they took the 24+ hour sample I had and told me they would let me know. Now I don't know if this test will be accurate, and so I'll probably end up paying for another.

They are the best and most reasonably priced vet in this area. We bring all of our pets here. It's a very, very busy office, but it's managed very well. Sometimes the wait times for check out get kind of long, but they are going as fast and as efficiently as they can...it's just really busy. All of the doctors we've seen are kind and knowledgeable. The techs are great and the admin/front desk folks are so patient and efficient.

I absolutely LOVE Harleysville Veterinary Hospital!! I have been taking my 2 dogs here for the past 6 years and always receive excellent and prompt care. The entire staff is super friendly and professional. I have never had a problem getting an appointment-even last minute. The place is spotless too. The receptionists are always kind, especially in stressful situations. My lab has had 2 separate overnight stays for injury/illness and they were so compassionate and reassuring. I feel their fees are extremely reasonable. They call quickly after procedures and explain things to you. I don't have a single bad word to say about them. My 2 girls are my life-they mean everything to me. I am so happy to have this wonderful practice to bring them to.

Even though the women working at the desk are extremely busy they are always respectful and patient. They are all very kind and respectful to us and our pets. They are very conscious to our financial expenses as well. They care deeply about the people and their pets. We feel blessed to have such a wonderful place close to home to take our pets to.

I will never forget when over a year ago Dr. Brown had to put down my beloved German Shepherd, Hannah. Dr. Brown had been Hannah's Vet since she was a pup and actually had tears in her eyes when we said our good-byes. She shared her own personal losses which provided much comfort and support. I am happy to say that Dr. Brown is my new puppy's doc and we are looking forward to many years of health and happiness!

All of the other vets that I have met have been professional and offered intelligent solutions to my pets health issues. I have used the services of other Vet Hospitals and find the prices to be very reasonable in comparison. I wouldn't take my pets any where else.

Dr. Brown has been treating both of my dogs for over 5 years. She cared for my mangy, parasite ridden rescue puppy when I adopted her in 2004. She counseled me through the surgery for intervertebral disc disease on my other dog, provided excellent follow up care and even helped me measure my dog for a cart. She performed surgery on my other dog for mast cell cancer and has ALWAYS gone out of her way to answer every question and deliver the answers in a very professional, yet compassionate manner. She takes the time to explain EVERYTHING in detail and give every option. My dogs LOVE her. I could not ask for a better vet. I was referred to her by a friend and I am so lucky to have such a great vet so close to my home. I also take my dog there to get her nails clipped and her ears cleaned. I’ve met most- if not all -of the other vets at this office and do not have a reason to complain about anyone there. As for the cost, vet care is expensive and is one of the biggest considerations when choosing to adopt a pet. Call around, the prices at Harleysville Veterinary Hospital are very competitive and the care is nothing but quality.

I have never had a bad experience at Harleysville Vet. We have been clients for over ten years and have brought an assortment of cats, dogs and bunnies in over the years. I have dealt with many of the doctors on an emergency basis, but our doctor for regular visits has always been Dr Brown. I think she is very knowledgeable and caring. I enjoy her humor, but what's most important is that I really trust her and everyone I've dealt with there with our beloved pets.

Firstly, I am a female, with a VMD degree, not a DVM, and have never seen Heather or her kitten. Secondly, I don't create the policies for the hospital, and am not an owner. She clearly saw a male colleague of mine, and while I am sorry that she had a bad experience, I must say that we do strive to keep our costs down while providing the best quality care. Harleysville Vet was a wonderful place to take my cats a few years back because doctors always had my cats best interests at heart. But, my last visit about 8 weeks ago proved that things have really changed there, and it dissapointed me. I haven't been to the vet in almost a year, and I brought my 4 week old kitten Zoey in for a visit because she was having some bladder issues. The receptionests were rude and not helpful, as they used to be. The doctor that we saw was impersonal and didn't seem like he was interested in helping us. He didn't ask too many questions, and seemed quick to get the visit over with. The office visit rates were very high, and there was no explanation for why our baby was having such difficultly emptying her bladder. The Vet recommended some things for further testing, but with the economy being the way it is, everything was so out of our reach. He said, ""I don't deal with people's financial burdons, I just try to figure out the problem with their pets."" When we asked if there was a way to do these tests in payments, he said, ""We don't put care on credit."" I was so upset. Here I was holding a 4 week old kitten in pain, and she was not getting the help she needed. He stated bluntly before showing us out, ""Well, she'll either out grow it, or she will die. Lets hope for the best."" I looked down at my baby and began to cry. We have now switched vets to Dr. Rossi in Lansdale. Not only were they able to help my now 12 week old toddler kitten, but they offered something called ""Care Credit."" It is like a credit card used for vet visits. We pay monthly, and all my babies have what they need! Hey Doc, guess they do put care on CREDIT! Thanks!
