First time visit yesterday for my shephard who developed an acute skin infection. Dr. Klein and his staff were extremely friendly and helpful despite having to deal with a VERY scared and rambunctious dog. Dr. Klein was very thorough and explained everything. Brought my dog here to have an infection checked out. My mix dog had an off growth on her hip that seemed infected and she was obsessed with licking it. Walking in the door you can tell all who work there LOVE animals! Even the customers that were there were very friendly and knew each employee by name and vice versa. Was a eye opener. Certainly not the type of place that gets you in there to charge you for everything under the sun. My first visit was free!!! My dog needed meds and a cone of shame. She need pain killers too. All this was very reasonably priced. I went in expecting to pay hundreds for medication!! The owner is the vet and he couldn't be more professional or welcoming. He treated my concerns with legitimate care and empathy. My dog still has the odd lump but it is no longer infected and doesn't bother her anymore. She is getting old, but is much happier and healthier after her treatments. Would recommend highly you give them a chance! Read Less

Not only are they terrific doctors but they actually love animals and put the well being of the animals first. I've been bringing my pets to Buck Road Animal Hospital almost from the time they started and I have never had anything but positive experiences there. The staff feel like friends to me and they always make you feel like they're happy to see you and your pets. The vets take their time with you and your pets and they go out of their way to give you any information you might need about a pet's condition or treatment. I have A LOT of pets and some of my dogs have aggression issues but you'd never know it to see them there. I will continue to bring my furkids to Buck Road. They are absolutely wonderful with my dog and have been a great resource for my cat who suffers from allergies and kidney problems. They really care about their patients and their humans, and listen to me when I have concerns. They are never, ever overcrowded. Usually there is maybe one other dog in the waiting room. That is a relief and keeps everyones stress levels down! The facility is clean and staff is always friendly and willing to walk you through, step by step, the treatment plan ahead. HORRIBLE PLACE. The vet basically killed our dog. Our 2 year old German Shepherd was born with bad kidneys and no matter what we said, like how he never eats, he only drinks water, and no matter what we said about taking blood tests and testing his kidneys, He said, "I am not concerned about it." Well our dog could have lived if he said "Just in case lets run a few tests and see if we need to take this into bigger proportion." His name is Dr. Shefmann. I give it a 1 out of 10. Don't go. I grew up in Holland and as a kid my family always used Dr. Schectman and Dr. Ezzo. I have since moved out of the immediate area and have pets of my own, but I still make the trip back to Holland to take our pets to Buck Road (an hour plus depending on traffic). My wife and I have found their ""bedside"" manner to be beyond excellent and their knowledge top notch. Our one dog had many issues as she got older (diabetic, arthritic, incontinent) and with their help we were able to provide her with the best quality of life for her golden years.
