I would recommend this facility every day and twice on Sunday. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the waiting room is clean and and more spacious than a lot of other local veterinary places . Most importantly the owner, Dr Stoner (not listed on the web site) is an orthopedic surgeon and our Irish Wolf hound pup had a broken leg. Avets told us 2 options, amputation or euthanize. Not Munhall Veterinary, neither was an acceptable option. The sheer size of her because she is of the Giant breed. Surgery was successful and she will have a normal life! Follow up is thorough and laser therapy is going well. He saved her life and she didn't have the tear in her leg that was I believe was reported. Caring team of physicans and staff. I have had dogs all my life but the thought of putting her down was unbearable. I'm not in the habit of negativity of other hospitals because mistakes can be made but I feel like my heart was ripped from my chest because of what Avets told us and amputation could be about 3-6k. Our dog recently had dental surgery that was a little extensive. He was treated with great care and well looked after during his recovery. His home care was explained in detail and we received a follow-up phone call after a few days inquiring about his recovery. My cat had teeth pulled. A day later, she had an upper respiratory infection and could not eat because she could not smell as well as a blood test. 2nd visit, in which there was a possibility she could have diabetes. Then, she had a 3rd visit to redo the blood test because the previous test was somewhat iffy. 3rd visit, no diabetes. 3-4 visits, about $800 - do the math. Last I heard, they wanted me schedule another visit.  Again, redo - NO!They gave medications for the 2nd visit. The first 3-4 days I did not notice any improvement. Then I added apple cider vinegar (with the mother ) twice a day. After one day of this, she vomitted once and her nose started to clear. She is now eating, perfectly fine. ACV is my new go-to. I have been to this veterinarian two times on the last two weeks and three different vets. The first one is the owner and I liked him and felt he had good bedside manner and seemed compassionate as well as nice to the fur family parents. The second was even nicer she was very helpful as well as understanding of how one feels when.you have a sick or extremely sick family member. The third was very by the book and not really very talkative, I did not really like his mannerisms at all he was just all data, all business. Overall I liked two out of the three vets and they did do an excellent job each time. I would recommend you going here if you need help for your a member of your family. Albert Read Less

Boooy these people are dumb. They mixed my two cat's information together then I called to get it changed and they still have it wrong. They have my cat's birthday wrong and when she's due for her vaccinations. The whole point in calling to get it changed is because it wasn't right the first time! Oh, and the male vet... pure asshole! I asked him could he get fur out of my cat's eye and he got pissy and he didn't fully examine her! He said, we just like to get the patients in and out. Um, no! And the staff is lazy. A dog urinated by the door and they just sat on their asses and they must not clean there because it's not too sanitary. Munhall Veterinary Hospital has been wonderful for us as first-time pet owners. Our cat is relaxed and calm when we take him for his checkups, and we have gotten great advice from them when anything out of the ordinary occurs. Most of all, they are ethical and honest. About 15 years ago, I took a stray cat to them to be checked. They offered me options that didn’t break the bank. More importantly, when I called last year to schedule a checkup of our newly acquired adult cat, the checked their records and told me I had a $58 credit in my account. Lola is 6 and she comes here for her shots and check ups. They take very good care of her and they are so helpful. They keep her healthy and they keep me informed. I highly recommend this vet. Even after I loved I still take her to the same vet so she will remain in familiar surroundings. She was spayed and micro chipped in this office they take care of all her needs. Read Less

I went to put my dog down, she couldn't get herself off the floor, couldn't walk, etc. I get there & the veterinarian said I'm being selfish for putting her down, she's fine & he proceeded to call me a "dog killer"..... I took my dog to Dr. Ortiz last year. She ended up passing, but I'm 100% sure there's nothing that could have been done to save her; she had an incredibly invasive hemangiosarcoma. The only con? The clinic doesn't have extensive diagnostic equipment for complicated situations or surgeries. Other than that, this is a great place. Dr. Ortiz genuinely cared about both me and my dog. He took time out of his day, no matter what to take my calls, explain everything, and try to give me options. He was aware I couldn't afford AVets, etc., no matter how much I loved my baby. Would give zero stars if I could. I took my cat here because she was having trouble eating. The Dr tells me she was having dental issues and I needed to have her back teeth extracted. So after I paid over 100 for her visit, I was was ready to pay over another 500 to have her her teeth out. Flash forward to yesterday (2/14) I come home from work and there is blood everywhere! I call munhall vet and they tell me they are busy and will call me back. So o call Avets in monroville I get her there and the Dr tells me she actually had a mass in her tongue and has been there for a while and of course it's cancer! Dr said she was in a lot of pain and they would have to remove her tongue and she would have to have a feeding tube put in . She said the most humane thing to do is have her put to sleep. I will NEVER take another one of my animals to this vet, and I warn anyone who is looking for a new vet .. run ..run fast and hard do not take your animals/ fur babies here. I have taken two of my dogs here and have never had a bad experience. One of my dogs has fear aggression, and when he met Dr. Ortiz, my dog responded really well to his calm energy. The doc had to look up my dogs rash in 3 books (I later found it easier on Google). Then he determined it was one of 3 things, so he over-prescribed antibiotics and steriods, sold us a medicated shampoo for 35 bucks (which I found on amazon for 8) and ear drops the dog didn't need. I have been taking my dogs here for years. In the last few years, the service and staff have improved dramatically. The service and professionalism they provide, leaves no doubt that whoever is running this operation has done a wonderful job of training their staff. I have been seeing them often since my two dogs are ageing and in need of a lot of care. Everyone there seems to be animal lovers and their compassion showes. Went to Dr. Bezak for years and had total trust in him. BUYER BEWARE as Dr. Bezak recently sold the business and the new owner needs a lot to learn. We called today regarding our lack of energy Lab. We left messages, spoke to someone on the phone five times begging for someone to call us back to no avail. We called again at 4pm and got a message that this number is no longer accepting messages. No problem though as we will take our five dogs elsewhere and our neighbor heard about this and is going to take his dog and two cats elsewhere as well. This new vet will not last long in this area. My regular vet is a ten mile drive each way so when my service dog needed a shot twice a week for his arthritis I thought I'd call the Munhall Veterinary Hospital, in spite of their many poor reviews, to see if I could arrange treatment closer to home. Just give the dog a shot twice a week, how hard can that be? I called four times on a Monday, first they wanted all his charts, (I agreed) then they would not give him a shot with out a physical (I agreed), they were going to call me right back and they never did. I don't think those demands are unreasonable, if they would just call me back, but they never did. Maybe they are not difficult and incompetent with everyone. But they are very independent, demanding and non-communicative. My business was his to lose and he lost it with out so much as a first visit. That alone is a remarkable achievement. Read Less

I have taken my dogs to Dr. BezaK FOR OVER A DECADE. He consistently shows concern and interest in the welfare of my dogs. He has performed complex surgery on one female dog I have, which saved her life. He candidly discusses with me all of the issues regarding each dog, and gives compassionate and good advice on the various pros and cons of treatment. He also recognizes that I don't have a fortune to spend on my dogs, but that I care about my dogs as if they are family. He provides realistic options for treatment and allows me to choose what I believe is best for my canine companions. I wouldn't go to any other vet! Read Less

A few yrs ago I took my sick rabbit there. As soon as Dr. Beezak entered the room he told me that he ""would make a good dinner."" My poor Eddie was very ill and the doctor told me ""its just a rabbit."" I live approx 2 miles away and since my bunny died, I've had 2 other cats and I will not ever step foot back into that office. I've traveled as far as Fox Chapel when my last kitty had heart and kidney disease.
