I’ve been going to this vet for approximately 8 years. I have two Brittany’s. I’ve always thought their prices were high but I’ve always paid them. My last yearly checkup the vet suggested to have their teeth cleaned. They said how would you feel if you never had your teeth cleaned. Later I agreed and made an appointment. As I was making the appointment I asked for an estimate. Later when I was driving my dogs to the appointment I realized they never gave me an estimate. When I arrived I asked again for an estimate they said they would call me with an estimate before they started any work. They did call and their estimate was $936. I’ve never had my dogs teeth cleaned as I mentioned earlier and they knew that since they have been our vet since they were puppies. They said they already started blood work on them (without approval of the costs with me) and I owed them close to $270. I handed them a credit card to pay for it then I thought wait they never told me any prices nor did I receive the actual “blood work” that they charged me for. The girl swiped my credit card even after I said wait this isn’t fair. I told her I would not sign the slip. She said it’s ok. They still charged my card even though I refused to sign the slip and I did not receive the blood work that they charged me for. I would say we were excellent customers/patients for 8 years. We never missed an appointment never complained about their high prices, we always came in for our yearly checkups, but they were completely wrong for not giving us an estimate as requested more than once. Perhaps if they would have given me a ballpark price I could’ve had an idea of the costs involved. This place was absolutely wonderful, the care they gave my chinchilla when it needed it's like amputated. Dr. Lisa and her staff were amazing, warm and compassionate. Dr. Lisa & Dr. Stacey have seen both my dogs - one for a partially torn cruciate, the other for atopic dermatitis. They're both very knowledgeable, gave different treatment options, & estimates to help me make the best choices for my furbabies. I took my dog here for pain he had on his neck. The staff were very friendly and courteous. I was given medication for my dog and told to give it to him every day for the next few days till he begins to feel better and then to give him an additional dose after he seems to feel better. There was not even enough medication for a half a dose of medication the next day. It cost me $100 for the exam and 2 1/2 doses of pain meds. I was told to give him medicine for the next 10 days and I only had a half a dose in the bottle. Read Less

They treated our cuddles like family for 14+ years and were so good to us when we had to put him down. They made it a peaceful experience. I also take my beagle/terrier mix to them now. We have taken our dogs to Countryside for over 10 years. The doctors and entire staff are awesome ! Our aging beagle Baxter recently spent a few days at Countryside to receive treatment for health issues. We received updates on his condition several times each day from either Dr. Stacey or one of the techs. Really gives us peace of mind knowing that our furry kids are well loved and cared for ! I came here to get established with a vet and because my dog was having a skin issue. The technician came in to take a history of my dog.. she was very nice, she did proceed to tell ne that my dog was due fir shots and can have testing done and I told her that today I b was here to only handle my dogs skin issue and when I leave I would book another appointment for shots.. she said no problem... we saw Dr. Lisa who was also very nice and once again I proceed to tell her that I'm going to handle my dogs skin issue and that was all for today.. she said I need to test his eyes.. I told her ok but I wasn't able to spend hundreds today.. she said oh no don't worry this is is nothing.. it's just a test strip.. then she sent a technican in to clean my dogs ears.. which I NEVER asked for.. so when I was done another tech came in with at least 6 -7 different meds for my dog.. by the time I was ready to pay my bill was 315 dollars! Extra charges for ear clean, test strips THAT I DIDN'T ASK FOR! And the lady at the front desk should definitely be alittle nicer to customers.. she cuts you off mid sentence when your talking.. I'm giving 3 stars because the doctor was knowledgeable and the place was very clean but I learned my lesson.. before my dog gets any tests or any services I will ask for print out of all cost first.. why I'm annoyed is because I told,them from the time I walked in that I was only handling the skin today and would come back for more tests and shots another time.. We started going to Dr. Lisa consistently in 2004 when our cat became very ill and our previous vet wanted us to take him to Ohio State University for bone marrow testing. Dr. Lisa was able to get a specialist to come into her office and do the testing to get a proper diagnosis. Our Shadow was in and out of the hospital for months and every time he was admitted Dr. Lisa and the staff at Countryside gave him the highest quality care and supported us with his health care decisions. We have going to Countryside even since with no issues. Is Countryside a little more expensive? Yes, but the quality of the care our pets have received there is exceptional. Dr. Lisa also explains our pets medical conditions in ways we can understand and takes the time to truly listen and let us come to decisions based on what we think is best for our pets. This place is a joke. They are unprofessional and ignorant to their staff. They "claimed" to be hiring for someone to do office work. My wife goes for an "interview" and worked her for 6 hours no pay no discount or any other kind of benefit for working for free for 6 hours. They then did not call her back for 2 and a half weeks after she called to follow up 3 times as they put her off. They then send a letter to our house saying sorry we proceeded to not give the job. Legally speaking this is completely unethical and not professional. I will pay double to go to any other vet in the area then to go to somewhere who can not even make a phone call. Will never take an animal there in my life! A man took his dog there after the dog ingested something that made him very sick, possibly antifreeze. The dog was turning blue and was unconscious. The nurse never did anything to help him, and he died within a few hours, then the nurse calls the dog's owner and says that "they did everything they could." Heard all this from another nurse. Also, there is no order in the place. I've watched as the same nurse berated and bullied another fully competent nurse for months while the vet did nothing to stop it. Does not deserve to run a business if he can't keep peace between his employees and he employs a woman who will kill an animal through neglect. Would go anywhere but here. Read Less

In all of my dealings with this wonderful pet facility, I've never met with a more compassionate, caring, and knowledgeable staff. Dr. Kim and the lovely ladies who work with her are all most helpful in pets needs. For the past five years Dr Lisa has taken excellent care of our family pets. Dr Lisa has provided affordable and top notch veterinary services to each of our many pets. Most especially the services provided to our dog Bella who suffered from allergies. This is the reason why we originally visited Dr Lisa, our dog had been unsuccessfully treated by another vet. After a few visits and Dr Lisa's diagnosis and treatment our dogs symptoms just about completely disappeared. My family and I are so pleased. Called to make an appointment for my new cats a month ago. When I called I asked for prices, 1 cat needed his shots, the other I just had to establish with a vet since she was newly addopted. I specifically asked if i would be charged for 2 office vistits. The woman cleary said NO it would only be 1 office visit charge!!! Had an ok experience Dr. Lisa was friendly and informative. Went to pay my bill and it was $70 more than I had expected, they charged me for 2 office visits. I told them what I was told when I called and made the appointment and they said I was mistaken there must of been a misunderstanding. If I would have known they were going to charge for 2 office visits I would have called around or utilized a rabies clinic!!! We will be going to a new vet, I will not go back to Countryside. My moms white cat had horrible scabs on her ear. I first took her to Dr. KIM in January , she was very helpful with the diagnosis, suspecting skin cancer and an amputation of the ear was necessary. My mom did not want to get this done and I finally talked her into a second opinion. White Oak Vet gave the same diagnosis and suggested we follow up with Dr. Kim. I found the staff to be very helpful and caring. On some things prices did seem high, cost of surgery more than reasonalbe. I am a business owner and people need to realize on Route 30 they are paying top dollar. Countryside has a big staff. A wonderful staff. And my mom has her cat!! They are dishonest and don't admit the mistakes of their staff! Receptionist doesn't relay entire conversation so your side of the story is just that - a story. Manager, Dottie, is unprofessional. Even when you spend over $600 on a cat's visit (a cat had a colon problem), they will not admit giving the wrong prescription and will not refund the money back ($34). They don't care loosing a customer over $34 that their receptionist/technician wrongfully prescribed. Read Less

This is an excellent hospital! We have had all of our pets treated here for many years - even when the outcome was not good we knew the best care was given by Dr. Lisa and Dr. Kim and the staff. We just brought one of our pets home after a few days hospitalization and yes, it was costly, but justified. My pet received care in a fully equipped facility, was able to be diagnosed and treated quickly because of this and the expertise of the doctors. I'm more than satisfied, my pet is mending well and I feel sorry for those of you that feel the need to attack anyone or anything when things don't go exactly as you expected. Read Less

This is the worst hospital in PA. My dog was in the first time when he was diagnosed with diabetes, and Cushings Disease. He was there 8 days and the total was 3000.00. Well he got sick again last week took him back and he stayed another 6 days totaling 1500.00. When he was getting sicker I took him to Schrader Veterinary Hosp where they diagnosed him with pancreatic cancer(we had to put him down today). Countryside killed my dog! They knew about the cancer and never told us so they could continue to make money off of my poor helpless animal. So unfortunately he spent the last days of his life in the hospital all alone. They pray off of people that love there animals. They know we will pay any amount to keep them healthy. I believe that this hospital takes advantage of your love for your pets. They schedule repeated or unnecessary tests between the doctors, which inflicts unwarranted punishment on your friend and your bank account. The doctors and staff have always been rude. There are no emergency hours, even if it's life- threatening. Emergency room doctors have wondered why serious symptoms and conditions have been missed. Little compassion is given when your friend needs to be put down. In my opinion, they don't care for the welfare of your pet, just your money. Take your animals anywhere but here. Read Less

We have taken our dogs there since 2001. They have had their fair share of health issues over the years, and the staff at Countryside has always gone out of their way to make our animals loved and cared for in the best possible way. A few years ago when one of our beagles passed after a long battle with heart issues, the vets and staff at Countryside sent us a beautiful and thoughtful hand-written note expressing their condolences. With the recent need to put another of our sweet dogs to sleep, we've experienced the love and respect for our family in this very difficult time. I've been taking my Shih Tzu to Countryside Vet Hospital since he was a puppy and have not had any problem. The ladies are courteous and helpful. I work in the medical field and have contact with many vet clinics so I am more familiar with the method of operation. Any vet clinic will ask for a deposit before treating a major illness, unless your pet is covered by an insurance plan. Animal care is very expensive and your local vet won't work for free. I'd suggest a health plan for any pet that you care about, after all your pet is a family member too. I am very satisfied, they helped my shih Tzu get thru a bad case of Kennel cough. Read Less

They have had my dog for 3 days and it is very hard to get them to keep me updated on her condition when i call in and ask how she is doing they are very rude. Before they would even treat my dog they wanted a 500$ deposit they are wayyyyyyyy over priced and not willing to work with you at all!!!! These people use the love you have for your animals to get money from you. My dog was very ill otherwise i would never ever have left her there. They are not helpful in anyway and constantly give me the runaround. They have not kept me involved in the medical decisions about my dog nor have they informed about anything they have done for her. I had a pet emergency and this facility would not see my pet, after I had been a customer there for years. The bad part was, this was a matter of life or death. And I guess, that they didn't care if the dog lived or died. Especially afterI attempted to get an appointment for 3 days, before pulling all my pets records and going to Norwin Vet. which was professional enough to realize that the dog was in grave danger! I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I highly recommend Countryside. I do not bring my personal animals to the clinic because I live out of state, and use my own hospital. I have my parents bring their animals there. The DVM's, technicians, and assistants have always given the best care for animals that I have ever experienced in a general practice. I do agree that they tend to have higher prices, but I also believe that you get what you pay for. I would take their expert medical care over a lesser priced animal hospital any day. I agree with the other review, this place is in it for the money. They schedule unnecessary tests, and charge exorbitant amounts. They use the love you have for your pet to get you to pay. My dog has a chronic disease and I have been taking her there since she was a puppy, I will never take another animal there, they have milked me for thousands of dollars. The only reason I stay is because they know her condition well and they do give good care, but I am running out of money. My dog is old, and I just don't want to change vets. I just got two new kittens, and they will never go there. I took them to a clinic, and my bill for both of them was $32.00, shots and worm medicine, amazing, I'm used to paying over $100.00 every time I go to the vet. Read Less

We had been patients at Countryside Vet for over 3 years, when they diagnosed our Dog Lewie, with cancer. After telling us the devestating news, my husband and I proceeded to the counter, where the receptionist told us that our bill was $432., my husband and I who had received an estimate of $230 earlier that day, questioned the high fee. The receptionist told us that Clavamox, the antibiotic that they perscribed was $165 dollars, Deramaxx, the antiinflamitory was $92.00. We pleaded with the receptionist that we only could afford $300, and requested payment arrangements for the remainder, which they refused, due to ""policy"". We then requested that we pay $300 and return with the remainder the following week, they again refused. The receptionist suggested that she call the vet tech to see which medicine that she would recommend, since we could only afford one. Even though we wanted to give our dying dog everything that he needed, We only left with the Deramxx. After the inital shock had calmed, I realized that I probably could get the antibiotic online, after a bit of research, i found both perscriptions for more than half of the price that this vet wanted to charge. When I requested a refund on the unused portion, they again denied my request. When I requested that they approve an online perscription, they told me that they did not feel that I would be able to get them online, and even if I could, there would be a fee. My husband and I are good pet owners, we follow all recommended treatment plans and always pay cash for all services rendered at the time of service. When we were unable to afford the entire amount to give our dying dog the medicine that he requred, they denied all requests, and did not mention that there is a possibility that we could get the medicine online at a discounted price. I feel that this office is not concearned with the well being of our pet, or yours, instead wants to make the most amount of money that they can. Read Less
