We are located in Jonas, PA (in West End of the Poconos), Homestead Vet combines high-quality professional service, cutting-edge technology, and a caring, personal touch–without the need to travel to the city! Dr. Sheri Newell and her staff make your pet’s health their highest priority.Take a tour of our website to learn more about what makes Homestead your best choice for the health and happiness of your dog or cat.Our goal is to provide high quality care to all of our clients. Dr. Sheri Newell, DVM is the owner and primary Veterinarian, she is currently working on her ultrasonography certification. Dr. Jodie Santore, VMD is available Mondays and Fridays to see pets of all kinds, she enjoys seeing exotic pets including birds, ferrets, lizards and also skunks. Dr. Audrey Yank DVM, recently joined the team, she is enjoying her time taking care of our small animal clients as she is also a large animal Veterinarian. Homestead is the ONLY animal hospital in the are that employs ONLY certified veterinary technicians. The technician is basically the nurse who assists the Veterinarian in caring for your pet. There are 4 Certified Veterinary Technicians employed at Homestead. Linette, Kim, Tawnya and Morgan all graduated from Northampton Community College Veterinary Technician and are licensed by the State of Pennsylvania. We also have two receptionists Fran and Linda who will be the first to greet you at the door and answer our phones.Call for an appointment today!

Dr. Sheri is the best vet in the area. My family has been going to her for over 20 years and I have no complaints on the quality of care and love she gives to our pets. I love her staff also. Excellent. Caring & Extremely informative. The doctors & Staff at Homestead have the knowledge, understanding and experience we look for in a vet. This Center continually goes out of their way to make sure your pet receives the best care possible & I would highly recommend this Veterinary Center to every one I know. I find HVC to be the best vet I have ever visited. From the reception staff, the vet assistants to Dr Sheri, it is always a good experience (lol im sure when I had my hound neutered he might speak differently of that particular visit). Dr Sheri's compassion and love for animals is always at the forefront every time I have brought my pets to her. You are more than just a number here, I was surprised and comforted when we received a sympathy card signed by the staff after having to put our 16 year old cat to sleep, a wonderful personal touch at a low point for the family that helped to raise spirits. I could go on and on but truly the important points that HVC always covers are compassion, care, knowledge and personal interest in the animals that are the patients.

This is hands down the worst vet I have ever been to. I do not feel they have enough experience handling rescue dogs nor do they have the compassion. The vet came in and was way too fast to hands on...
This is hands down the worst vet I have ever been to. I do not feel they have enough experience handling rescue dogs nor do they have the compassion. The vet came in and was way too fast to hands on handle my dog and gave him no warm up time at all. I was very specific in how to handle him before the appointment and even upon arrival, all of my requests were ignored and the visit ended poorly. The vet got too close to my dogs face after I specifically stated multiple times that he does not like that at all, and he growled at her. So she put in his file that he is "aggressive" which I only found out after making another appointment for him and upon our arrival and check-in the receptionist stated to me "oh, I see your dog is not very nice." I was absolutely disgusted by this practice. We have since switched vets and I have not had a single bad experience at our current vet. If you have a rescue dog I strongly recommend NOT going here. This vet is too arrogant and does not have the right compassion for a rescue dog.

Dr. Sheri is the absolute best vet around! I will not take my dogs to any other vet unless it's a dire emergency and they aren't open. But you better believe we always go to her for a follow up the second we can. I only trust her and her opinions when it comes to my dogs. She's always spot on with everything. Dr. Sheri and her staff are super friendly and accommodating. You can tell they really care for their patients! Thank you Dr. Sheri and staff for everything you've done for all my dogs!

Dr Sheri has been my furry kids vet for over 20 years. She was not the first vet I had gone to but she is the best. Even after moving an hour away a couple years ago I would not think of going to another vet. The 2 hour round trip is well worth it. Dr Sheri is a compassionate caring vet who provides the best care and always gives you all the time you need during your appointment to address any concerns you may have. The entire staff at Homestead is top notch also providing compassion, kindness and care. Homestead has always provided the best veterinary care available to my family. Thank you Dr Sheri and all of the wonderful staff.

Finally got into Homestead after living here since 2005. Tried at least 3 others in the area and we are very happy with Dr. Sheri & Jodi as well as the staff. They don't rush you at all. Dr.Sheri found a heart condition in one of our rescues that needed immediate attention after the other vets pushed it aside.

I'm not sure how to rate a vet that after bringing all my animals there since 2002 would refuse to see my sick dog because I haven't been there since 2012. I was told they don't to accept new customer...
I'm not sure how to rate a vet that after bringing all my animals there since 2002 would refuse to see my sick dog because I haven't been there since 2012. I was told they don't to accept new customers, and since my dogs have not been there since then, I'm considered a new customer. Huh ? 10 (TEN) years of forgotten service ? I'm sitting here in total disgust. What kind of vet refuses to see a sick dog ? What has happened to this place ? I used to trust and count on you Sheri. I don't know what else to say :(

Sherri is an excellent vet! Loves every pet brought to her and deeply cares about their health. Her front desk people can be pretty gossipy which is not proffessional at all. But if you want a vet that is loving and kind to your pet, Sherri is the BEST...once you make it past the front office staff.

This is hands down the worst vet I have ever been to. I do not feel they have enough experience handling rescue dogs nor do they have the compassion. The vet came in and was way too fast to hands on handle my dog and gave him no warm up time at all. But you better believe we always go to her for a follow up the second we can. I only trust her and her opinions when it comes to my dogs. She's always spot on with everything. Even after moving an hour away a couple years ago I would not think of going to another vet. The 2 hour round trip is well worth it. Sherri is an excellent vet! Loves every pet brought to her and deeply cares about their health. Her front desk people can be pretty gossipy which is not proffessional at all. But if you want a vet that is loving and kind to your pet, Sherri is the BEST...once you make it past the front office staff.
