the techs are so educated and knowlegable and spent so much time with me and my dog. dr risa sat on the floor with my dog, petted him, everyone gave him kisses and was so sweet with him. He usually is nervous at the vet, but he acted like he was right at home. the techs gave me literature, demonstrated ear cleaning and dental care and let me practice with them. i will never go to another vet. dr risa and her team are the best! This clinic was the best ever when Dr. Magella ran it. I agree with the others WE WANT DR. MAGELLA BACK!!! In general Dr. Risa is rude and has no compassion for animals. My first visit with her turned my stomach. My dog is deathly afraid of getting her nails touched let alone trimmed. She literally tackled my dog and made her cry to cut her nails. She then cut down too far and made my dog cry again and bleed all over the floor. I started to pet my dog and tell her it was ok because I felt so bad. Dr. Risa then yelled at me telling me I was encouraging her bad behavior!!!!! I had one other experience her which made me and my entire family leave the office and change to Dr. Kim Werner. Our Chihuahua has a collapsing trachea and if he does not get his medicine he will literally start to choke and not be able to breath. If he does not get his medicine he will most certainly die. We called for a refill and were told we needed to be seen by Dr. Risa before she could call in the prescription. OK sounds fine, but Dr. Risa is on a leave of absence until after March!!!! They wouldnt even give us enough of the prescription to keep our dog alive until we could see her. This was the last straw. She lost our entire family including 8 dogs. But, people like her do not care. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS IGNORANT AND UNCOMPASSIONATE PERSON. ANYONE IS BETTER THAN HER. p.s. the only good this is Jody the receptionist who was there with Dr. Magella, even the good vet techs left with Dr. Magella. I had taken my puppy to Dr. Risa as a new customer. This is not my first dog, but I am new to the area. She was arrogant, rude and inconsiderate to me. Then she insisted on repeatedly trying to sell me premium products and services that I know from past experiences with my former vet were completely unnecessary. She made made me feel like she was too inexperienced to have a practice on her own, and I wondered if she actually graduated from an accredited school of veterinary medicine at all. The front office staff was the best part of the experience. However when Dr. Risa interacted with my healthy 4 yr old dog for a simple check up, she managed to make him yelp in pain not once but several times. She seemed to be uncomfortable around a large dog and was very rigid, almost afraid. She also didn't know my dog was an AKC and tried to list him as a mixed breed. It took me a few weeks after that experience to decide to leave a review, but I decided it was important for people to know. I had called Dr. Risa for my close-to-death animal in order to get a thyroid prescription refilled. She refused since it had been over a year (14 months to be exact) since he had been seen there. I know that there are rules to be followed, but my animal has only days, or a week if he is lucky, to live. I did not want to take him to the vets as it is very stressful for him, and wanted her to just call the prescription order in. I feel that she is very uncompassionate to have turned him away in this specific situation. WE WANT DR. MAGELLA BACK, she was so much more compassionate!! :-( Read Less
