I bring my personal pets and my foster pets to Aston Vet. They are competent, friendly, and CARING which is huge for me. They have been very conscious of the costs involved with my fosters and I appreciate that since it all comes out of my pocket. I have worked most recently with Dr. Cutney and she has been FABULOUS. Truly, I have never been unhappy with any of the docs so in my opinion, they are all great. The staff are friendly, caring, and very accommodating. When my husband and I were growing up, our parents used Aston Vet for our family pets. So it was no thought as to who we would use when we adopted a one year old goofy Chocolate lab, 12 years ago! Aston Vet took excellent care of our Rona until she passed in Dec. 2017. I cannot put into words how kind they were when we brought Rona in that last time (when we decided to put her to sleep). Every staff member we spoke to that night was compassionate, caring and gave us time with her. They let us stay as long as we needed with her. They gave us space to grieve. They made sure all she knew was love in those last minutes. Dr. B reassured us over and over how we were making the best choice for her. Just as they had in her life, they took excellent care in her death. Then to our surprise, every staff member signed a loving sympathy card for us and they sent it to our home. We recently adopted a sweet puppy we called, Allie. Aston Veterinary Hospital is the only vet we would take her to! They were so excited for us and talked us through all the "puppy phase" stuff since it has been awhile for us! We are so thankful for Aston Vet! Read Less

My wife took my dog in because she vomited had a fever and was sleeping. Seemed like a bug as the dog was completely normal the day before. Im pretty sure this was not the first dog they saw with these symptoms. I agree with the iv fluids and at that point the word should have been keep an eye on her and if she is no better tomorrow bring her back. IMHO they knew what was wrong with my dog BUT It was time to ring the register. Over $500 dollars worth of tests. Guess what, nothing wrong and my dog was back to normal the next day. Bottom line for me if you want a Vet who will examine your pet and give you and honest opinion go elsewhere. If your pet needs a healthy visit they are OK Read Less

Five stars for one of the vets being really great and compassionate when we lost one of our beloved kitties to renal failure. Props also to the last vet I dealt with regarding my other aging kitty, for being so patient with my endless questions. No stars to the vet tech that insinuated my cat is overweight because I think it's "cute", and then raised her voice to talk over me when I tried to tell her he's been on a diet for the last two years and has plateaued in his weight loss.Usually this office is fine, but my last visit was the worst. On top of the terrible vet tech, you can hear everything that's going on in the back room while you're waiting in the exam room. They should be aware that everyone can hear their gossip clear as day. My Matilda has gone to Aston Vet since she arrived home with me in December 2014. They have provided the utmost care to my fur baby and always ready to help this new puppy momma. The staff and doctors are amazing. Appointments are easy to get even if it's at the last minute - which has happened on a few occasions. I have taken my dog there for several years. He loves to go to see Dr B and is very excited when we get there. He always want to go straight in. They are very kind and caring with my dog and me. They treat him as if he were the only little guy in the world and they always give me as much information as I need to make decisions. They do not force things on us and they are respectful of our decisions. I have emailed them with questions and I usually get a telephone call back with a response and they do not push me to make unnecessary visits. I had another very elderly dog who died and not long after I received a sympathy card signed by everyone in the office. I have had dogs for decades and can honestly say that Aston Veterinary Hospital is the best I have gone to in all those years. Read Less

We recently had to put our dog down and the entire Aston Vet staff were very supportive, caring and understanding to our sorrow. Our dog was 14 years old and had some serious medical issues. The Doctor's who cared for him and prescribed the medicine that he had to take daily for 2-3 years, allowed us to have him around with us longer than was expected. I would recommend the Aston Veterinary Hospital to anyone who has a sick animal. They are #1 in my book. Read Less

Aston vet was recommended to me by a co worker 3 years ago when I took in a stray kitten. Since then I have added two dogs and have never had a bad experience there. They are kind, helpful, and it's easy to get an appt. I've used their boarding also with another wonderful experience. Read Less

The doctors seem knowledgeable, but there is is a definite problem with the front end staff. When you enter, seldom does anyone look up to you. They say over their shoulder as they deal with "more important" issues, hello. IF you're lucky! Most times, one is ignored for several minutes and only then addressed in a rather surly fashion. We brought our Morkie Gia to Dr. Becker when she had severe liver toxicity. After several days we came to the decision to let her go. Dr Becker was sympathetic to us and honest. She was comforting and Gia was at peace. Now we have a Yorkie and again we had the pleasure of having DrBecker and Dr Catafaro. Both take their time to explain procedures. My 5 year old cat Mookie had kidney failure and the staff at Aston Vet helped me keep her comfortable and content for an entire year. The special diet, fluid treatments and special medication allowed her to be home, happy and with me longer than I hoped. We visited them every 3 to 4 days for fluids so there were many women there that contributed to her extended life. And the doctors helped me make the very difficult decision that the treatment was no longer working and it was time for me to let her go. I will never forget their kindness to Mookie and me during this time. THEIR love for animals allowed me to show extra love and care to my pal. OHMIGOSH! What was I thinking driving to my old vet in the city when this wonderful clinic is closer to my house??My sister-in-law lives like two blocks away from this animal hospital and has been taking her dog there since they bought their house three years ago. Yesterday I was in need of an appointment because my dog had an allergic reaction to some flea bites. My old vet didn't have any convenient appointments for people who work until 5:00, so I figured I'd see if I could get an appointment here. I managed to get a 7 pm appointment on the same day I called.So, last night I arrive and am pleased to see a nice big waiting room. We were taken to an exam room right at 7:00 and were all done and out of there by 7:30. I like that they take your payment IN the exam room so you're not having to juggle your pet and your payment out front while there are other animals distracting your pet. I also really liked the doctor, Mandy Becker.The best part is that THE BILL FOR THE VISIT AND THE MEDICATION WAS ONLY $71.00!!! And they gave me a $20.00 gift card for my next visit since last night was our first time there!Lastly, their online site is extremely useful. You can see when your animals are due for vaccines or tests, you can see who last treated your dog and what was done, and you can request appointments online. Got a 4 week old kitten off a farm this past week. I had just moved to the area with my wife and did not know of any local vets. A quick google search and I narrowed it down to a few. I saw Aston Vet Hospital had decent reviews with two 1-star reviews which made me leery. I then compared facebook pages and saw that AVH is considerably more well known and higher volume so you are bound to get one or two sticklers (or false reviews.) What a good choice Aston Vet is. The staff is remarkably kind and professional. Also as a new client, they are very welcoming and I'm honestly so baffled where the bad reviews came from. Bottom line is: IF YOU NEED AN AWESOME AND HELPFUL VET- LOOK NO FURTHER. You'll want to tell your friends and family about this place. Read Less
