I've heard of many of neighbors recommending Mt. Bethel Animal Hospital for years, but I didn't start bringing my dog here until I got fed up with our former vet becoming like a corporate business. I lived the first fifty years of my life in N.Y. and always had dogs, so I have been to many veterinarians. Mount Bethel Animal Hospital is the absolute best! They are everything that a great veterinarian should be and then some. Their prices are very fair, however there is something more, there is something very special about everyone here. Our dog is always happy to visit - she loves (Really Loves!) to go to a veterinary visit!! My wife and I agree that the veterinarians are the best we have ever met, if we could we would see them instead our own doctors!! The doctors and staff at this veterinary practice treat both animals and owners with compassion and respect. The quality of care is excellence and the charges are affordable. There is no taking advantage of an owner's love for their pet in order to make more money - in fact it's just the opposite, the Dr.s are very careful in explaining all options and price points and never pressure the owner. This is the last place I'd bring a pet! My mom and I stopped bringing our animals there after three of them passed away. All of them were misdiagnosed from the start and it wasn't until it was too late that we found out that they had needed more medical attention than we were led to believe.. My mom's dog was a chiwienie which they diagnosed with an infection. The dog ended up having cancer and even though we had treated her,  it ended up being too late and she passed away. Two weeks later I lost my Chihuahua because they told us she had allergies. When we were on our way to see another vet because she was having a lot of trouble breathing the other vet said the only thing that would make her go as fast as she did was her heart. So Mount Bethel animal hospital told us to give the dog Benadryl for kids when she really needed to be on heart medication. Lastly, they told us that our cat had arthritis and when we took him to another vet we found out that he really had diabetes. Our cat went one a year without insulin when he needed it. I'm a new "patient". I've had to have 2 cats put down in the past 6 months and recently got 2 kittens. I've found the staff and doctor exceptionally compassionate. Very patient in explaining things to me that I was unsure of. Down to earth, realistic advice. Would recommend in a heartbeat! Read Less

This place has been servicing my family's pets for more than 20 years.  They never sell you something you don't want or need.  They refer you out for problems that need specialty care and are always prompt and courteous.  I love the vets there.  All of them! Country charm.  Great practical knowledge.  Only drawback for some it that they take check or cash.  NO CREDIT CARDS. Read Less

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT.. new to the area.. I brought my cat there after a scuffle with my dog and was suffering terribly. . It was first thing in the morning. I encountered a very unfriendly, cold, unsympathetic woman who informed me that.. they had just opened and no doctors were available and could I come back at 9:15? Or I could take her to Harmony urgent care in New Jersey. At first I was so surprised at the uncaring, cold response from this woman and more so at her lack to even TRY to help me by offering to just 'admit' the cat and let the doctors see her when they could. NEVER again, Took my cat to Animal Mansion in Hainsburg, NJ. where I was taken care of immediately by very warm, friendly caring staff.Read Less

NEVER will I use this "establishment"!!! Found a dog that was injured, lying in the snow, and brought it to this "animal hospital", the only vet in a 20 mile radius. The "Dr." refused to even look at the poor thing, stating, and I quote " If I found an injured animal in the road, would you want me to bring it to your house?" Hell yes!!! Even if I wasn't the only house on the block! What kind of a "Dr." or human being is this? If this is the way she treats an injued animal, I'd hate to see how she treats a healthy one! Her only interest was "Are you going to pay the bill for it?"She will never break my spiritfor being a good samaritan, and I will never recommend the Mt. Bethel Animal Hospital! Read Less
