I called Rainbow Pet Care myself and made an appointment for my adorable little Chihuahua. He first gave me an appointment on a Friday. I then realized that was 4 days away and I wanted my dog to be seen ASAP. So I said please don't you have anything sooner. He put me on hold then after a long while,( I actually thought he hung up) he came back on chewing something and said ok Wednesday at 5:30. He asked about what was wrong and I told him about my dogs eye was swollen and sore looking.
I arrived on Wednesday with my husband and when I came in no one would come out to great me. After waiting a long time his wife i assumed came out. I told her I had an appointment for 5:30 and she said "really" and left. A few minutes later he came out and kept talking about he was really busy and he didn't have time to see me . Then he tells me I don't have an appointment. I have proof because my husband heard when I made the appointment.
He then got very excited and proceeded to tell me he has no time and he's busy and I should leave. I told him that I talked to him myself and he was the one that gave me this appointment.
Then with an attitude he was letting me know that I was barging in on his day and that he was operating on cats. It looked like he was eating to me.
Anyways he said ok ok what is his age and stated writing, the whole time he was constantly complaining about my interruption and painstakingly wrote down a few things. He then left and his wife or daughter came out and told me to go into a room. I was upset already because of my poor little guys sickness and he made my anxiety triple. I put my dog on the table and he took one look at him and said EWE THATS BAD". I broke out into tears . That is the most unprofessional thing anyone could say. I was so devastated. Then he jumped back like my dog was gonna give him some sickness and told me " I cannot see your dog". " He needs an eye doctor " I said are you a vet ? You know even I knew what might be wrong with my dog , but he acted like we all had leprosy. He then told me over and over, " I cannot see your dog ." So I was more upset because I had waisted these crucial days waiting for this appointment that he totally ruined. My husband even took off work. He would not even prescribe a medication because I didn't know how long it was going to take to get my dog another appointment somewhere else. So before you go to this place remember he is not familiar with a lot of dog illness and I wonder where he got his schooling. He is not much cheaper than most other vets and there are many vets that told me to steer clear. They never said we're sorry and my poor angel had to suffer until we found a place that was a real veterinarian. Very bad experience at a time you need compassion and help from someone who knows what they are doing.

Dr. Giri and staff is the very best! When I called with a question he called back even on his vacation (what dr does that). Bailey needed knee surgery he had to move her shin bone and fix where her knee goes in the socket. Two weeks and Bailey is walking. He really cares about your animal so caring. I could have had surgery 5 minutes from our house but I chose the 40 minute drive because he is the best vet and surgeon you will find. He is amazing you will NEVER find better.

My black lab Gracie had TPLO surgery in December, this is her 2nd TPLO surgery with Dr. Giri. Her 1st one healed amazingly and we are now 1 month into her recovery from her 2nd one. She is doing great. Dr. Giri and his staff (Cheryl, Keith, and Tom are amazing with Gracie and myself. They are so caring and attentive to all of our needs. Dr. Giri explains everything in detail and is always available if I have any questions or need anything. He is also half the price of any other vet that does the TPLO surgery in the area, and that includes everything from the first consultation through her surgery and her follow ups and meds. Gracie loves the staff. She hated going to the vet and now she gets excited like she is going for play time. I could never thank Dr. Giri enough for giving me back my playful lab! He also does many other surgeries. Very qualified vet and surgeon! Everyone should take their dog to Dr. Giri!!

My black lab Gracie is 6 years old. Dr. Giri repaired her ruptured ACL in July. She has since fully recovered from that surgery. Full recovery! No limitations in mobility. Unfortunately she has since torn her 2nd ACL in the opposite leg. Thankfully Dr. Giri to the rescue again! She is on her way to recovery from this surgery also! Dr. Giri and his staff( Cheryl, Keith, and Tom) are amazing! My dog absolutely loves them all and enjoys going to see them! That’s from a dog who hated to get out of the car at the vet. Dr. Giri did the TPLO surgery on Gracie. His price is half the cost of anyone in western PA and includes everything from the initial consultation xrays bloodwork, surgery, after care, meds and follow ups. Price and service can’t be beat! I would 100% recommend them for all your pet care needs. Dr. Giri also does more than basic vet care and TPLO surgery.

Not only was the care outstanding, but the cost was incredibly reasonable. Dr. Giri thoroughly explained every detail. My boy has had an amazing recovery thanks to Dr. Giri and his staff. I travel almost an hour to his office and do not think twice about. I want the best care for my fur kids and I will only have Dr. Giri as our veterinarian. He genuinely cares for animals and their humans too!

We recently had our lab here for a TPLO surgery. We didn’t have anyone close to us to perform this surgery, so while searching we found Dr Giri. Dr Giri and his team were very helpful with answering our questions, and were able to get our dog in sooner than most places for the surgery, which was important as we could tell our dog was in pain. They also were significant less in price, for the same surgery and same care! They didn’t charge me more because Gunther was over 80 pounds either. We had to travel and drove about an hour and half so it was important to me to find a vet where my dog would be in good hands. We go back for our checkup and xrays in a few days and I’ll report back - but since the surgery Gunther seems to be recovering well and we’ve had no problems. Dr Giri is always available to answer my questions. I highly recommend this vet, especially if you need the TPLO surgery for your large dog.

I started taking my 9 year old yorkie poo to Dr. Giri this past fall when I moved to Natrona Heights. He got lymes disease from a tick bite a few years before and was on 5 medications daily due to kidney damage. Within the first exam by Dr. Giri, he insisted that I stop 2 of the pills immediately and that he was sure they were not helping my dog. Weeks later, he did blood work and found that my dog only needed to be on 2 meds and that was it. My dog got sick shortly after and Dr. Giri and the entire staff at Rainbow Pet Care Center were very dedicated and genuinely cared about my dog’s wellbeing. Dr. Giri told me he treats all of his patients as if they were his own pet and I truly believe that. I 100% trust the staff at Rainbow Pet Care Center and would recommend this vet to everyone. I can’t thank him enough for ensuring my dog is in good health!

This was, quite possibly, the WORST veterinary experience I've had in 25+ years of pet ownership. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Dr. Giri wanted my 75lb 11 year old husky mix to climb onto a lift table; something never requested of this pet in 10 years. He spent less than 2 minutes on the dog's 'exam,' during which he asked me three times if I had any questions. Charged $60 for those two minutes and $57 for the heart worm preventative. Books in the waiting room were falling apart. The office was outdated and dirty. Avoid, if at all possible.

Dr. Giri and his staff have been absolutely wonderful! I have a Great Dane puppy that presented a cherry eye when he was four months old. Dr. Giri attempted topical ointment to reduce it, and ended up doing surgery on it when he was neutered at 6 months old. You can't tell that he ever had surgery, Cheryl were quick to call when surgery was over to let me know that he was okay, and the follow up visit was quick and simple in his Oakmont office, which is closer to where we live. Very happy with their work! Thank you!

Dr. Giri and his staff are the best you could possibly want to take care of your furry family ! They are very knowledgeable, compassionate, loving, and go way above and beyond the call of duty ! We recently adopted a very sick cat from a local shelter, and we firmly believe that if it wasn't for the excellent care given by Dr. Giri, our furry little guy wouldn't be with us today! great experience. Dr G did a great job performing surgery on our dog to remove a mass in his neck. it was quite complicated in the spot that it was in. we had some other vets look at it prior to coming to to Dr G and they were all really concerned on the placement. Dr G was quite confident that he could take care of this safely and with little risk of complication. AND HE DID! he and the staff there are great to work with, so much so that we have decided to make him our vet for all future needs. thanks again Dr G and Rainbow Veterinary Hospital for a great experience.

We previously went to a vet specialty hospital and I can tell you we received better care, more attention, and better follow up with Dr. Giri and his staff. He will walk you through everything and you dog will not leave there until He is satisfied that your dog will have the best outcome possible. I would take my dog to him trusting any procedure would be done to the best of his ability and I can tell you Dr. Giri has the skill set of any surgeon out there!

My 5 year old mixed breed, 50 pound female pup, Pacina injured her left rear leg playing with my other dog, twice her size. After taking her to Rainbow, we found out it was an ACL injury and she would require surgery. Dr. Giri was amazing in explaining the surgery, and what to expect with the procedure. Unlike what my friend had experienced with the same surgery at another "unnamed" major pet hospital in Pittsburgh - Dr. Giri treated Pacina like she was his dog. She wasn't booted out a few hours after the surgery, but kept for 2 additional days after the surgery, ensuring a great start to her recovery. Due to a scheduled business trip, I paid to keep her there for an additional week, and the staff was amazing to her.... she didnt want to leave them. The surgery was HALF of what the big hospital wanted... HALF. All of her drugs, cone, follow ups, you name it, were all included.I'm thankful to say she is 17 days post op right now. Her incision is completely healed, shes walking and recovering more and more every day. I cant thank him enough for what hes done for her.If your dog is experiencing a rear leg injury - I suggest you consider Dr. Giri. He will help you out, and not break your bank.

Over the years I have conducted a massive search for the perfect vet. I have driven miles, and have been referred to many by countless friends only to be consistently frustrated and disappointed with the service they provided. Then, low and behold, in my very own hometown of Oakmont appeared Dr.Giri. Oakmont has not had a vet during the 33 years I have resided here so I was excited at the prospect of being able to take my dog to a vet without driving 45 minutes. However, due to my previous negative experiences, I was skeptical to say the least.
The office is small and cozy. When I arrived I was greeted by Dr.Giri which in itself is unique. He is the only vet and therefore, the one I see regularly. This is a positive because my dog remembers and feels comfortable and at home when we arrive. Dr.Giri is always kind and positive. His vet tech is exactly the same.
Dr.Giri is by far the most thorough of any vet I have ever used. He tells me what and why he is doing what he is doing while he does it. He answers any and all questions with patience and knowledge.
But, the best part is, when there is a blood test or sample test to be run, he does it on the spot and results are given within minutes. I don't have to wait for a phone call.
He pays close attention to what my dog needs in the way of meds and tests. One time he actually made a special trip and opened the office, when it was typically closed that evening, in order to have available the medication my pup needed. He called and told me he would be there and I could pick it up. I couldn't believe it! Who goes to that extent to ensure the safety and health of your pet? Only Dr. Giri, that's who.
If you think you have the perfect vet, I challenge you to make one visit to his cozy office and see if you don't change your mind and join me in being one of his loyal patients.

I chose Rainbow Pet Care because of the good reviews, and they did not disappoint! Took my 9 3/4 yr old lab spaniel for her first appointment yesterday and they were great! In all the years we went to our old vet blood work was never drawn, so that was a pleasant first, eased my mind! After the Dr. did his normal check up he asked if we had any special concerns, he then checked her for those specific issues that were troubling us! I knew I had to write this review when my husband told me they called to check on her because they gave her 3 shots yesterday and wanted to make sure she was ok. I'LL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE!

Dr. Giri has been our Veterinarian for many years, and I would highly recommend him to all. I have always found Dr. Giri and his staff to be very knowledgable.
My dog, Charlie, recently had to have surgery. Dr Giri took the time to explain everything that was needed and why the surgery was necessary. He also went over all of the costs upfront. There was no hidden surprise fees after the surgery; the fee was exactly the amount told in advance.
In addition, his facility is very clean.
If you are looking for a place to bring your pet for quality care, and a doctor who is caring and compassionate, look no further! Dr. Giri and his staff are the best!

I would recommend them to everyone!!! They are the nicest people! the Doctor was willing to help my dog anyway he could! He fixed her leg when she was hit by a car at just 7 months old and she was just like new. it was severely broken and she had a partially collapsed king but he was willing to work with us on price and gave us every option. We could have amputated but I didn't want that so they did everything they could to save it and it was very successful! Fast forward to 6 years later she came down with a rare sickness and they all did it again! gave us every option and was willing to help us with price!! WHen I was in the office crying uncontrollably he didn't want me to be upset and reassured me it was all going to be ok! well sure enough the treatments worked and she is getting better everyday!! I would send everyone there!!They are very professional!!

As a longtime client, I totally trust Dr.G with my pets. When my older dog was ill, he checked on him during the night at the hospital! Plus, after I took him home, Dr called me to check on his condition! Who else does that?! I've never met a veterinarian with such care & concern for pets. He also has the skill & equipment to perform procedures that others would send to a specialist. This saved me a lot of money! I always get an appointment when I need it, & my calls always get returned! The staff are very helpful & I never feel rushed. All of this is important to me(and to my dogs)!

Not happy at all with the service. Service prices change often, I have been charged for a service that I didn't receive. The doctor is not very nice at all. He's a bully and he plays on your emotions for your pet. He lies and deceit people with false sicknesses. I know I have paid for many of his vacation because his prices are outrageous. I don't pay for that my doctor, when I go to the doctor. And he's only in it for the money, he doesn't talk to you right or respect you and you're paying him big money. He acts as if he's doing you a favor, No we are doing you a favor as customers.

I brought my puppy and my friend's 2dogs to see him He all said my friend dogs and mine are OK but gess what he suck a big liar. My puppy refuse eat puppy food and he tell me buy his food for puppy but puppy still not eat and he never can tell me why?? My friend 2dogs 1got diarrhea with blood right next day and the medication almost 100buck???And the other dog eye turning white clouds 3day after. When we bring dog back he still charge 40dollars exam and 2 medication tobramycin 5ml and rimadyl25mg for7days and billed me 187dollars. But the dog eye got worse right next day and we call back he said he will charge 55dollars for exam and more for different medication. My friend gave up because less than 1week he spend 55 for 1st time and 187 for second time and dog is hurt and dying. It is terrible and he should go to hell for lie that he can treat a dog eye but the truth is not. All he care is bill people money as much as he can rip people off by his big liar. And he never ever can tell and answer my questions is what caused the dog eye problems or why dog do not eat. The dog are 6months but he said dog 1and haftto 2yrs??? What kind of doctor is that??? We moved to the Natrona Heights area almost 2 years ago. With 3 dogs it was critical to have a vet close and Rainbow is less than a mile away. The staff is friendly but not inviting if that makes sense. I do like Dr. Giri but when asking questions we never really got the answer(s) we were looking for. There was never another patient in there, wasn't sure if it was on purpose or because there aren't many clients. One of our dogs had a large bump on her leg that broke open during the night and we weren't sure if it was an emergency or something that could wait until after work.. we called Rainbow early in the morning and they gladly let us drop her off there until our appointment later in the day. It felt good to know she was in good hands. He gave her antibiotics and we came in a week later for him to remove the lump. He said the infection was gone and operated. Within a week of the operation, the infection broke her leg wide open. He charged us full price again for another surgery that I feel wouldn't have been necessary had the antibiotics worked. And my poor puppy had 2 surgeries within a month. Our other dog got diagnosed with kidney disease and he recommended fluids at home and a special diet. He said this would be necessary for the rest of her life. When asking how bad it was I never really got an answer. My dog was gone within a month. I don't blame the DR of course but if I would have known how bad it was maybe different choices would have been made by me at that time. We actually took her to a different vet to be put to sleep. It wasn't until that vet visit that I learned what a good vets office is like... friendly staff who loves animals and even greets them! Vets who are straight with you even if it hurts and a lobby with lots of patients.I wouldn't recommend Rainbow.

Our dog had to have surgery for a torn cruciate ligament. Rainbow has been our vet since our dog was a puppy and he was limping. They did x-rays to determine the problem and it was determined, by Dr. Giri and the radiologist that read the x-ray, that his cruciate ligament had been torn and he would need surgery. Dr. Giri was very good at explaining the proceedure before it was done and about the care and restrictions that he would need after. He has been doing great since the surgery. Everyone there is so nice and helpful. They really care about animals and their welfare. We have to go back soon for another check-up and I'm sure things are still progressing well. When he's all healed, I'm sure my dog will be running like he did before - he already wants to, but his activity is still restricted. While I did not ""shop around"" for prices, I feel that you get what you pay for, and here I've had nothing but great service and a healthy pet. I would totally recommend this as a place to take your pet - they see them as part of your family, just as you do.

I have dealt with many vets, both for large animals and small, for quite a few years and can say without any hesitation that Dr. Giri is probably the best diagnostician and talented vet I have ever observed. He quite literally saved the life of one of my dogs when the dog had an adverse reaction to a drug. He stopped everything that he was doing to stabilize my dog and because of his quick actions I am happy to say that 3 years later my 13 year old dog is still with me. I recently had some serious issues with one of my cats and when a problem arose on Super Bowl Sunday Dr. Giri did not hesitate to have me bring him to the clinic to be treated. He always has the best interests of the animal at heart. I have had my amimals teeth cleaned fairly regularly over the years and have never had an adverse reaction. Dr. Giri is an extremely ethical and caring vet. As with human doctors, he needs to examine an animal before diagnosing or prescribing any medicine. Veterinary medicines are as expensive as human drugs. Equipment costs have risen. Veterinary care now has risen to very much the same level as human medicine and as human care cost rise so do veterinary costs. Although sometimes expensive, options exist within treatment plans to sometimes ease the financial situation. I cannot say enough good things about Rainbow Pet Care and the dedicated staff that work there.

I've been taking my dog and various cats to Rainbow for the 15 years that I've lived in the area. I've found the staff to be very caring, efficient and helpful. Now that I have several older animals, the staff goes out of their way to make the animals' and my trip there as calming and peaceful as possible. They have the latest technology available and we rarely have to go elsewhere for tests or treatment. I would recommend them!

I called Rainbow Pet Care myself and made an appointment for my adorable little Chihuahua. He first gave me an appointment on a Friday. I then realized that was 4 days away and I wanted my dog to be seen ASAP. So I said please don't you have anything sooner. He put me on hold then after a long while,( I actually thought he hung up) he came back on chewing something and said ok Wednesday at 5:30. He asked about what was wrong and I told him about my dogs eye was swollen and sore looking.
I arrived on Wednesday with my husband and when I came in no one would come out to great me. After waiting a long time his wife i assumed came out. I told her I had an appointment for 5:30 and she said "really" and left. A few minutes later he came out and kept talking about he was really busy and he didn't have time to see me . Then he tells me I don't have an appointment. I have proof because my husband heard when I made the appointment.
He then got very excited and proceeded to tell me he has no time and he's busy and I should leave. I told him that I talked to him myself and he was the one that gave me this appointment.
Then with an attitude he was letting me know that I was barging in on his day and that he was operating on cats. It looked like he was eating to me.
Anyways he said ok ok what is his age and stated writing, the whole time he was constantly complaining about my interruption and painstakingly wrote down a few things. He then left and his wife or daughter came out and told me to go into a room. I was upset already because of my poor little guys sickness and he made my anxiety triple. I put my dog on the table and he took one look at him and said EWE THATS BAD". I broke out into tears . That is the most unprofessional thing anyone could say. I was so devastated. Then he jumped back like my dog was gonna give him some sickness and told me " I cannot see your dog". " He needs an eye doctor " I said are you a vet ? You know even I knew what might be wrong with my dog , but he acted like we all had leprosy. He then told me over and over, " I cannot see your dog ." So I was more upset because I had waisted these crucial days waiting for this appointment that he totally ruined. My husband even took off work. He would not even prescribe a medication because I didn't know how long it was going to take to get my dog another appointment somewhere else. So before you go to this place remember he is not familiar with a lot of dog illness and I wonder where he got his schooling. He is not much cheaper than most other vets and there are many vets that told me to steer clear. They never said we're sorry and my poor angel had to suffer until we found a place that was a real veterinarian. Very bad experience at a time you need compassion and help from someone who knows what they are doing.

Bailey needed knee surgery he had to move her shin bone and fix where her knee goes in the socket. Two weeks and Bailey is walking. He really cares about your animal so caring. I could have had surgery 5 minutes from our house but I chose the 40 minute drive because he is the best vet and surgeon you will find. He is amazing you will NEVER find better.

My black lab Gracie had TPLO surgery in December, this is her 2nd TPLO surgery with Dr. Giri. Her 1st one healed amazingly and we are now 1 month into her recovery from her 2nd one. She is doing great. Dr. Giri and his staff (Cheryl, Keith, and Tom are amazing with Gracie and myself. They are so caring and attentive to all of our needs. Dr. Giri explains everything in detail and is always available if I have any questions or need anything. He is also half the price of any other vet that does the TPLO surgery in the area, and that includes everything from the first consultation through her surgery and her follow ups and meds. Gracie loves the staff. She hated going to the vet and now she gets excited like she is going for play time. I could never thank Dr. Giri enough for giving me back my playful lab! He also does many other surgeries. Very qualified vet and surgeon! Everyone should take their dog to Dr. Giri!!

My black lab Gracie is 6 years old. Dr. Giri repaired her ruptured ACL in July. She has since fully recovered from that surgery. Full recovery! No limitations in mobility. Unfortunately she has since torn her 2nd ACL in the opposite leg. Thankfully Dr. Giri to the rescue again! She is on her way to recovery from this surgery also! Dr. Giri and his staff( Cheryl, Keith, and Tom) are amazing! My dog absolutely loves them all and enjoys going to see them! That’s from a dog who hated to get out of the car at the vet. Dr. Giri did the TPLO surgery on Gracie. His price is half the cost of anyone in western PA and includes everything from the initial consultation xrays bloodwork, surgery, after care, meds and follow ups. Price and service can’t be beat! I would 100% recommend them for all your pet care needs. Dr. Giri also does more than basic vet care and TPLO surgery.

We recently had our lab here for a TPLO surgery. We didn’t have anyone close to us to perform this surgery, so while searching we found Dr Giri. Dr Giri and his team were very helpful with answering our questions, and were able to get our dog in sooner than most places for the surgery, which was important as we could tell our dog was in pain. They also were significant less in price, for the same surgery and same care! They didn’t charge me more because Gunther was over 80 pounds either. We had to travel and drove about an hour and half so it was important to me to find a vet where my dog would be in good hands. We go back for our checkup and xrays in a few days and I’ll report back - but since the surgery Gunther seems to be recovering well and we’ve had no problems. Dr Giri is always available to answer my questions. I highly recommend this vet, especially if you need the TPLO surgery for your large dog.

I started taking my 9 year old yorkie poo to Dr. Giri this past fall when I moved to Natrona Heights. He got lymes disease from a tick bite a few years before and was on 5 medications daily due to kidney damage. Within the first exam by Dr. Giri, he insisted that I stop 2 of the pills immediately and that he was sure they were not helping my dog. Weeks later, he did blood work and found that my dog only needed to be on 2 meds and that was it. My dog got sick shortly after and Dr. Giri and the entire staff at Rainbow Pet Care Center were very dedicated and genuinely cared about my dog’s wellbeing. Dr. Giri told me he treats all of his patients as if they were his own pet and I truly believe that. I 100% trust the staff at Rainbow Pet Care Center and would recommend this vet to everyone. I can’t thank him enough for ensuring my dog is in good health!

This was, quite possibly, the WORST veterinary experience I've had in 25+ years of pet ownership. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Dr. Giri wanted my 75lb 11 year old husky mix to climb onto a lift table; something never requested of this pet in 10 years. He spent less than 2 minutes on the dog's 'exam,' during which he asked me three times if I had any questions. Charged $60 for those two minutes and $57 for the heart worm preventative. Books in the waiting room were falling apart. The office was outdated and dirty. Avoid, if at all possible.

Dr. Giri and his staff have been absolutely wonderful! I have a Great Dane puppy that presented a cherry eye when he was four months old. Dr. Giri attempted topical ointment to reduce it, and ended up doing surgery on it when he was neutered at 6 months old. You can't tell that he ever had surgery, Cheryl were quick to call when surgery was over to let me know that he was okay, and the follow up visit was quick and simple in his Oakmont office, which is closer to where we live. Very happy with their work! Thank you!

Dr. Giri and his staff are the best you could possibly want to take care of your furry family ! They are very knowledgeable, compassionate, loving, and go way above and beyond the call of duty ! We recently adopted a very sick cat from a local shelter, and we firmly believe that if it wasn't for the excellent care given by Dr. Giri, our furry little guy wouldn't be with us today! We can't thank Dr. Giri enough for the excellent care and compassion he has given to our Little Leo, who is now healthy and happy ! We would NEVER TRUST ANYONE ELSE with our furry boys !

great experience. Dr G did a great job performing surgery on our dog to remove a mass in his neck. it was quite complicated in the spot that it was in. we had some other vets look at it prior to coming to to Dr G and they were all really concerned on the placement. Dr G was quite confident that he could take care of this safely and with little risk of complication. AND HE DID! he and the staff there are great to work with, so much so that we have decided to make him our vet for all future needs. thanks again Dr G and Rainbow Veterinary Hospital for a great experience.

We previously went to a vet specialty hospital and I can tell you we received better care, more attention, and better follow up with Dr. Giri and his staff. He will walk you through everything and you dog will not leave there until He is satisfied that your dog will have the best outcome possible. My 5 year old mixed breed, 50 pound female pup, Pacina injured her left rear leg playing with my other dog, twice her size. After taking her to Rainbow, we found out it was an ACL injury and she would require surgery. Dr. Giri was amazing in explaining the surgery, and what to expect with the procedure. Unlike what my friend had experienced with the same surgery at another "unnamed" major pet hospital in Pittsburgh - Dr. Giri treated Pacina like she was his dog. She wasn't booted out a few hours after the surgery, but kept for 2 additional days after the surgery, ensuring a great start to her recovery. Due to a scheduled business trip, I paid to keep her there for an additional week, and the staff was amazing to her.... she didnt want to leave them. The surgery was HALF of what the big hospital wanted... HALF. All of her drugs, cone, follow ups, you name it, were all included.I'm thankful to say she is 17 days post op right now. Her incision is completely healed, shes walking and recovering more and more every day. I cant thank him enough for what hes done for her.If your dog is experiencing a rear leg injury - I suggest you consider Dr. Giri. He will help you out, and not break your bank.

My 5 year old mixed breed, 50 pound female pup, Pacina injured her left rear leg playing with my other dog, twice her size. After taking her to Rainbow, we found out it was an ACL injury and she would require surgery. Dr. Giri was amazing in explaining the surgery, and what to expect with the procedure. Over the years I have conducted a massive search for the perfect vet. I have driven miles, and have been referred to many by countless friends only to be consistently frustrated and disappointed with the service they provided. Then, low and behold, in my very own hometown of Oakmont appeared Dr.Giri. Oakmont has not had a vet during the 33 years I have resided here so I was excited at the prospect of being able to take my dog to a vet without driving 45 minutes. However, due to my previous negative experiences, I was skeptical to say the least.
The office is small and cozy. When I arrived I was greeted by Dr.Giri which in itself is unique. He is the only vet and therefore, the one I see regularly. This is a positive because my dog remembers and feels comfortable and at home when we arrive. Dr.Giri is always kind and positive. His vet tech is exactly the same.
Dr.Giri is by far the most thorough of any vet I have ever used. He tells me what and why he is doing what he is doing while he does it. He answers any and all questions with patience and knowledge.
But, the best part is, when there is a blood test or sample test to be run, he does it on the spot and results are given within minutes. I don't have to wait for a phone call.
He pays close attention to what my dog needs in the way of meds and tests. One time he actually made a special trip and opened the office, when it was typically closed that evening, in order to have available the medication my pup needed. He called and told me he would be there and I could pick it up. I couldn't believe it! Who goes to that extent to ensure the safety and health of your pet? Only Dr. Giri, that's who.
If you think you have the perfect vet, I challenge you to make one visit to his cozy office and see if you don't change your mind and join me in being one of his loyal patients.

I chose Rainbow Pet Care because of the good reviews, and they did not disappoint! Took my 9 3/4 yr old lab spaniel for her first appointment yesterday and they were great! In all the years we went to our old vet blood work was never drawn, so that was a pleasant first, eased my mind! After the Dr. did his normal check up he asked if we had any special concerns, he then checked her for those specific issues that were troubling us! I knew I had to write this review when my husband told me they called to check on her because they gave her 3 shots yesterday and wanted to make sure she was ok. I'LL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE!

Dr. Giri has been our Veterinarian for many years, and I would highly recommend him to all. I have always found Dr. Giri and his staff to be very knowledgable.
My dog, Charlie, recently had to have surgery. Dr Giri took the time to explain everything that was needed and why the surgery was necessary. He also went over all of the costs upfront. There was no hidden surprise fees after the surgery; the fee was exactly the amount told in advance.
In addition, his facility is very clean.
If you are looking for a place to bring your pet for quality care, and a doctor who is caring and compassionate, look no further! Dr. Giri and his staff are the best!

He fixed her leg when she was hit by a car at just 7 months old and she was just like new. it was severely broken and she had a partially collapsed king but he was willing to work with us on price and gave us every option. We could have amputated but I didn't want that so they did everything they could to save it and it was very successful! Fast forward to 6 years later she came down with a rare sickness and they all did it again! gave us every option and was willing to help us with price!! WHen I was in the office crying uncontrollably he didn't want me to be upset and reassured me it was all going to be ok! well sure enough the treatments worked and she is getting better everyday!! As a longtime client, I totally trust Dr.G with my pets. When my older dog was ill, he checked on him during the night at the hospital! Plus, after I took him home, Dr called me to check on his condition! Who else does that?! I've never met a veterinarian with such care & concern for pets. He also has the skill & equipment to perform procedures that others would send to a specialist. This saved me a lot of money! I always get an appointment when I need it, & my calls always get returned! The staff are very helpful & I never feel rushed. All of this is important to me(and to my dogs)!

Not happy at all with the service. Service prices change often, I have been charged for a service that I didn't receive. The doctor is not very nice at all. He's a bully and he plays on your emotions for your pet. He lies and deceit people with false sicknesses. I know I have paid for many of his vacation because his prices are outrageous. I don't pay for that my doctor, when I go to the doctor. And he's only in it for the money, he doesn't talk to you right or respect you and you're paying him big money. He acts as if he's doing you a favor, No we are doing you a favor as customers.

I brought my puppy and my friend's 2dogs to see him He all said my friend dogs and mine are OK but gess what he suck a big liar. My puppy refuse eat puppy food and he tell me buy his food for puppy but puppy still not eat and he never can tell me why?? My friend 2dogs 1got diarrhea with blood right next day and the medication almost 100buck???And the other dog eye turning white clouds 3day after. When we bring dog back he still charge 40dollars exam and 2 medication tobramycin 5ml and rimadyl25mg for7days and billed me 187dollars. But the dog eye got worse right next day and we call back he said he will charge 55dollars for exam and more for different medication. My friend gave up because less than 1week he spend 55 for 1st time and 187 for second time and dog is hurt and dying. It is terrible and he should go to hell for lie that he can treat a dog eye but the truth is not. All he care is bill people money as much as he can rip people off by his big liar. And he never ever can tell and answer my questions is what caused the dog eye problems or why dog do not eat. The dog are 6months but he said dog 1and haftto 2yrs??? What kind of doctor is that??? What kind of school that he went??? ANIMAL SCHOOL??

We moved to the Natrona Heights area almost 2 years ago. With 3 dogs it was critical to have a vet close and Rainbow is less than a mile away. The staff is friendly but not inviting if that makes sense. I do like Dr. Giri but when asking questions we never really got the answer(s) we were looking for. There was never another patient in there, wasn't sure if it was on purpose or because there aren't many clients. One of our dogs had a large bump on her leg that broke open during the night and we weren't sure if it was an emergency or something that could wait until after work.. we called Rainbow early in the morning and they gladly let us drop her off there until our appointment later in the day. It felt good to know she was in good hands. He gave her antibiotics and we came in a week later for him to remove the lump. He said the infection was gone and operated. Within a week of the operation, the infection broke her leg wide open. He charged us full price again for another surgery that I feel wouldn't have been necessary had the antibiotics worked. And my poor puppy had 2 surgeries within a month. Our other dog got diagnosed with kidney disease and he recommended fluids at home and a special diet. He said this would be necessary for the rest of her life. When asking how bad it was I never really got an answer. My dog was gone within a month. I don't blame the DR of course but if I would have known how bad it was maybe different choices would have been made by me at that time. We actually took her to a different vet to be put to sleep. It wasn't until that vet visit that I learned what a good vets office is like... friendly staff who loves animals and even greets them! Vets who are straight with you even if it hurts and a lobby with lots of patients.I wouldn't recommend Rainbow.

Our dog had to have surgery for a torn cruciate ligament. Rainbow has been our vet since our dog was a puppy and he was limping. They did x-rays to determine the problem and it was determined, by Dr. Giri and the radiologist that read the x-ray, that his cruciate ligament had been torn and he would need surgery. Dr. Giri was very good at explaining the proceedure before it was done and about the care and restrictions that he would need after. He has been doing great since the surgery. Everyone there is so nice and helpful. They really care about animals and their welfare. We have to go back soon for another check-up and I'm sure things are still progressing well. When he's all healed, I'm sure my dog will be running like he did before - he already wants to, but his activity is still restricted. While I did not ""shop around"" for prices, I feel that you get what you pay for, and here I've had nothing but great service and a healthy pet. I would totally recommend this as a place to take your pet - they see them as part of your family, just as you do.

I have dealt with many vets, both for large animals and small, for quite a few years and can say without any hesitation that Dr. Giri is probably the best diagnostician and talented vet I have ever observed. He quite literally saved the life of one of my dogs when the dog had an adverse reaction to a drug. He stopped everything that he was doing to stabilize my dog and because of his quick actions I am happy to say that 3 years later my 13 year old dog is still with me. I recently had some serious issues with one of my cats and when a problem arose on Super Bowl Sunday Dr. Giri did not hesitate to have me bring him to the clinic to be treated. He always has the best interests of the animal at heart. I have had my amimals teeth cleaned fairly regularly over the years and have never had an adverse reaction. Dr. Giri is an extremely ethical and caring vet. As with human doctors, he needs to examine an animal before diagnosing or prescribing any medicine. Veterinary medicines are as expensive as human drugs. Equipment costs have risen. Veterinary care now has risen to very much the same level as human medicine and as human care cost rise so do veterinary costs. Although sometimes expensive, options exist within treatment plans to sometimes ease the financial situation. I cannot say enough good things about Rainbow Pet Care and the dedicated staff that work there.

I've been taking my dog and various cats to Rainbow for the 15 years that I've lived in the area. I've found the staff to be very caring, efficient and helpful. Now that I have several older animals, the staff goes out of their way to make the animals' and my trip there as calming and peaceful as possible. They have the latest technology available and we rarely have to go elsewhere for tests or treatment. I would recommend them!
