We have been going to Green Valley since we adopted our dog Murphy 2 1/2 years ago. Dr. McElhinny has been taken care of Murphy and we are so happy to have found such a wonderful Veterinarian. It was even more true today when I called the office because my grandpuppy Cooper who I was watching for my son and daughter-in-law had gotten into a diabetes lancet and I had no clue if he swallowed it . I was nervous because of the small needle attached to it. They were so kind and welcoming and told me to bring him into the office, even though he was not their patient. Dr. McElhinney took some x-rays and took great care of him. there was something questionable on the radiograph and she was going to have a radiologist review it. I left feeling better and with a special diet to follow and to keep an eye on Cooper. To my surprise she personally called back later in the afternoon and gave me the radiologist results. I was impressed with the personal attention and will gladly recommend anyone to their practice. The staff is very friendly and you can tell they love what they do. When we first started going with our puppy we were very pleased. Great and pleasant staff as well as the vet we saw. Had an emergency come up where we needed to have our puppy seen. The vet, and owner, was rude, condescending and basically called me a liar to my face in front of my children and a tech. I was embarrassed, humiliated and angered over the incident. I contacted the office letting them know what had happened and why we were leaving and to this day, it has now been 3 1/2 months, have yet to get any type of feedback from them. Plus their prices were very high. $21.00 to cut a puppy's nails??  However, the rest of the staff was always very kind. Maybe I caught this vet on a bad day but the way she spoke to me was completely uncalled for. I would only recommend this place if the vet mentioned were to leave the practice. I was in Green Valley Animal Hospital only for the second time just a week ago. Unfortunately I had to Euthanize a very sick cat that was with our family for over 12 years. I have never seen a doctor and staff work with such compassion and care. There are no words to describe how grateful and how much I respect these professionals. Dr. McElhinny and her caring, dedicated staff have taken care of our dogs for almost 20 years. We can't say enough good things about them. They know our pets and treat them like their own. So they remove my post from their Facebook page because of my review, so I will leave one here. Terrible vet no follow up call, glue your Doberman ears for posting since they do not have a clue how to do it. Lousy customer service and extremely rude since they clearly didn't care about my pets comfort. So they don't call the night of or the day after to check on our dog knowing we left unsatisfied but after we leave a review of services rendered they call and then we get this in the mail! So clearly when you are able to make reviews on a business's page and they don't like it they send you a letter saying they will no longer provide medical care to our pets instead of trying to fix the problem and attempt to make the customer, who should always be treated as right, satisfied and happy! Seems all they cared about was getting money and not the after care concerns! Will never recommend any of our animal friends to this establishment! Read Less

I went to Green Valley on 5/22/2017 because my 10 year old Giant Schnauzer Hope which was not feeling well. Dr. McElhinny listen to what I thought and did a complete exam. She did blood and urine test. Dr. McElhinny is a great Veterinarian and a very nice person. Read Less

The absolute best care I have ever received. Wonderful office that actually cares about their patients. I found the office on Google and chose them because they were the closest. Me and my kitty lucked out! I will definitely be recommending their office to any and every pet owner I know! It had snowed bad the night we brought our cat in. Us, being from down south, didn't understand that when the roads are that bad, you probably shouldn't drive. So we got stuck. A lot. We finally made it to their office and got stuck in their driveway! The staff actually came out in the cold to help us push our car out! And then on top of that, gave our cat a very thorough exam and explained in detail their treatment plan and what we should do next. Their office is VERY clean and well decorated. Absolutely LOVE this Veterinary Hospital.  They are always immediately ready to help you with any problem or need your pet has.  The staff is overly friendly and helpful.  They always make sure to get you seen immediately or when is best for you and your family.  They take pride in their work and genuinely love animals.Dr. Burton-Hall has restored my faith in a Veterinary hospital that they are one of the few who genuinely LOVE animals and want to take care of them like they were their own and NOT get you to up-sale as much as you can to pad their pockets!!  They really care about your animal and follow up and I am so happy to have found them as our new vet.  I cannot imagine going anywhere else!!! Dr McElhinny and her staff at Green Valley are the most patient and considerate I've ever met. My cat needed to be seen and they were there. He was evaluated and tested immediately, then sent home with a care plan. They have made several follow-up calls to be sure both my cat and I are doing ok with the after care. Most of the people are extremely nice and very friendly.  The first visit was nice with the vet Burton-Hall. It was our first visit with 2 puppies and having a bill of $316.60 was what I would have expected for a first visit.  Second visit we arrived 30 minutes early which was our mistake because we ended up being at the vet from 5 and until after 8.  We did not eat dinner before hand because I wasn't expecting to be there so long.  The lady in the front was extremely nice and offered snacks and drinks.  Before seeing the vet we had a visit by 2 other people working there.  It felt like a sales call because then the vet Maureen McElhinny came in and went over the same things.  Almost like they were trying to scare me into doing extra stuff.  My bill for this visit ended up being $422.97.   I feel they are very knowledgeable but this last visit the presentation of items could have been delivered a little better.  For a couple days after the 2nd visit my daughter was afraid to play with the dogs and would cry if they licked her.  Also they estimated spading / neutering from $900 to 1300.  I have been calling around and the prices seem high but from all the online reviews Green Valley seems very reputable so maybe they are worth the cost.   I only gave 3 stars because of how my daughter was affected by the visit and she doesn't want to go back and how I felt uncomfortable around one of the ladies in how she interacted with me.  I felt like she prejudged me because I was questioning the services they wanted me to purchase and I only purchased a few.  I don't mind spending money on my dogs but I just want to make sure it is on things they need and I do not like people trying to scare me into buying other things.  I normally use Bradford Vet but it was too painful for me to go back after putting my old dog down but they never tried to scare me into purchasing services and I have used them for about 20 years so I may be going back.  I think I will try this place one more time before I make a final decision.  Maybe we visited them on a bad night this last visit... Green Valley Veterinary Hospital is an AAHA accredited hospital. Although Dr. McElhinny has been doing this for many years, she still keeps herself & her staff up to date with the latest training & technology. They even have a laser therapy machine & can do laser surgery!  She will always make sure your pets receive the best & most up to date treatments & will even get a second opinion from the lab or a specialist. I have had everything done through them-routine vet care, teeth cleaning, dental work, emergency stitches & treatments, mast cell & other tumor removals, even a spleen removal, & unfortunately euthanasia :-(. Dr. McElhinny has an actual offsite dog dentist that she will consult & bring to her clinic if there is something that needs done besides cleaning or pulling a tooth. He has done work on one of my dogs. Dr. Burton-Hall even removed my dog's spleen. Dr. McElhinny did recommend PVSEC's group of specialists for that but I fully trust them all at GVVH & only want them treating my dogs. They are VERY particular about surgery. They do blood work & an EKG beforehand to make sure that your pet is healthy enough to go through with it. They also monitor them the entire time during & after surgery is over. Thorough discharge instructions will be given & they will call to check up with you & make sure your pet is recovering well. They also are wonderful with dispensing medications properly & will make sure your pet is not in pain after any treatments. I never feel rushed here!  Dr. McElhinny & Dr. Burton-Hall will spend as much time with you as you need & thoroughly answer all of your questions. If you get blood work or tests done, one of the Drs will call you back to completely explain the results to you. The rest of the girls that work here are absolutely wonderful as well. They are very knowledgeable, compassionate, & it's obvious that they genuinely care about their clients & their pets. They have stayed open & waited for my husband & I to get there when we had an emergency with one of our dogs on more than one occasion. They were actually all waiting at the door to help us when we arrived. When I had to have one of my beloved dogs euthanized, I was incredibly blessed to have these wonderful people with me. They let me have as much time as I needed before and after the procedure. During the procedure, they even held my hand because I was so upset. When I went to pick up his ashes, both Dr. McElhinny & Dr. Burton-Hall & all of the girls working that day came into the room & hugged me & expressed their condolences. They gave me a card in which they had all written personal messages in, as well as an impression of his paw print in a heart. Another thing to mention is that one of my dogs was rescued from an abusive home. He was absolutely terrified and very snippy with everyone but me. After a handful of visits here with him biting everyone & me having to muzzle him & help hold him down, he stopped behaving like that. He realized that nobody would hurt him and he felt completely comfortable around everyone there. I have even left him in their care for multiple surgeries & he was perfectly fine with them even away from me.  To make a long story short if you don't want to read my long review, the staff here treats you & your pets like family while giving you the best care possible. I've been to a few highly-rated vets in the area, and Green Valley is hands-down the BEST. We received care and attention that we've never received anywhere else. When two of my dogs were ill, they spent extra care with them and saw us several times last-minute when I needed them. Additionally, they called in to check-up with us and continued to provide us exceptional care until both my pups were healed and healthy. Our dogs actually love to go there. The laser technology is often superior and well worth consideration also. My dog was hit by a truck last July on a Thursday evening. We called Green Valley Vet and they told us to bring her right over. They took great care of her and today she is running around like she did before the accident. The doctors were really understanding and very reassuring. We take all of our pets there now. I am so blessed to have had a coworker recommend Green Valley Veterinary Hospital to me. I moved here about three years ago with my husband and our kiddo, otherwise known as our dog Buster! It was so hard to find a vet that I could trust and feel confident in their knowledge and judgment. Dr. McElhinny eroded all my fears. She obviously prides herself on continuous education and providing every animal with a thorough exam. The staff is so friendly and helpful. And I really appreciate that the staff has a system of following up on patients to check to ensure they are doing okay. I would have to say that the primary reason I am so pleased to write a positive review is that the staff takes a great deal of time walking you through every step of their diagnosis. They are willing to explore treatment options, but take the time to walk you through the benefits and risks of each option. I am so grateful to have found this vet as I am in complete agreement with he approach they take with patients. To help you understand how strongly I feel about this vet, I live in Seven Fields where I am surrounded by vets in Cranberry and the North Hills, but I drive about 35 minutes to this little gem I was so lucky to discover. I have two family members that go to green valley. They seem real good. My fiance's cat was sneezing this gross red snot stuff and had we had to do lots of medications for her. it was ironic because we were talking about them and the phone rang. they actually called to see how she was feeling and if she was getting bettter! Who does that in these busy days?? Right then Danielle and I said wed allways be going to them! Also my dads girlfriend takes her dog maggie there. Maggie has had a ton of bladder infections. they actually talk to her on the phone to tell her results and what to do next. best part is they dont charge for that. not to mention how smart and up to date they are on everything. not just new medications but how to treat pets and how to tell if something is wrong. if you want a play that is state of the art and proud of what they do go here. I used to go to green valley way back when Dr Kaufman ran the business. Since then I lost my pet and it took many years to be able to get another one. Boy, I had no idea how much a puppy would run me ragged! They're puppy visit, the first one, does cost a little more than the other vets in the area but all the stuff they give you and the time they spend with you it worth the couple extra bucks. They give you a binder, yes a binder!, full of stuff you need to know. Now for me, it'd been a good 7-8 years since so, I needed the refresher. Dolly was a great dog, but in her old age I was spoiled, now this crazy pup! Anyways, they give you the yellow stuff for worms, and free samples of flea prev and heart worm. It was great. I love dr hall! She is amazing! The techs there are really good!! The only downside I have with them, there are not enough evening appointments and they seem to fill up fast! I've had nothing but very positive experiences with Green Valley Veterinary Hospital. All of the veterinarians are personable and thorough, and the support staff has been great as well. My dog hasn't been the easiest dog to deal with, and yet they have figured out ways to work around him and deal with his anti-social behavior. My husband and I got our first puppy three years ago. Friends of ours recommended Green Valley Veterinary Hospital. We were clueless to what was involved in having a puppy. The staff and doctors at GVVH took the time to explain what they were doing to check her over and everything that is involved in having a puppy, from the shots required to the type of food which would best suit her. At every appointment my husband and I always had a series of new questions for Dr. McElhinny. The doctor took her time with us and answered all questions thoroughly. The staff treats our Puggle like she is one of their own. I have had many interactions with Tara. She has always been very friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely sincere. Another staff member, Renee will always make a point to say hello to Cheyenne when we are in the office. Cheyenne had eye surgery and Renee always asked for an update. It made us feel good knowing we were not just another customer in the office but they do truly care. For whatever reasons our Puggle needs to be seen by GVVH, it is a nice feeling to know she is in good hands and we trust them with our "daughter". I would highly recommend Green Valley Veterinary clinic to anyone that loves their pet. I have two labs and two cats and the staff at GVVC care for them as if they are their own. My big dog was diagnosed with Canine diabetes last year and Dr. Burton and Dr. McElhinny have taken the time to provide superior & professional care for my dog. I trust their knowledge and treatment. I like that they take time to listen. They repeatedly exceed my expectations of doctor/patient care and they understand the cost associated with owning multiple pets. Dr. Dohanich also provides great pet care and knowledge. I like that he is up front and honest about treatment. The entire staff including Renee & Tara is extremely supportive and genuinely sincere when it comes to treatment and services.
