Why isn't zero stars an option???I have been taking my cat to Green Valley for about 9 years and they have had my cat on prescription food (for urinary tract issues) almost that entire time. Also, during that time period, my cat was always on schedule with his checkups and shots. However, this year when I got the reminder card, my basement was flooded. After that, I had a major plumbing issue, where the walls in both of my bathrooms had to be ripped out and all my plumbing had to be replaced, which resulted in several thousand dollars in unexpected expense. These issues were ongoing throughout the summer and into the fall. The contractors finally finished up the day before Thanksgiving. Fast forwarding to December 10th when the local vet where we usually buy the prescription food had been waiting on their order for over a week, during which time we ran completely out of food. From Thanksgiving until about December 20th...I work 12-14 hour days, 7 days a week (very busy time at work). My sister was off that day and volunteered to run out to Green Valley to pick up a bag of prescription food (Green Valley is about 30 minutes away, which is why I usually purchase the food at the local vet office).Green Valley said they would not allow us to buy the food without examining my cat. I had every intention of taking my cat in for his checkout right after the holidays and my busy season at work but they would not allow me to make an appointment for a few weeks down the road and still give us the food. I told them I felt that I was being held hostage to make an appointment for my cat or I couldn't feed him. After going round and round with them, they tell me that they don't even have the food in stock (which I don't really believe). So now the issue is... even if I dropped everything at work to make an appointment for the cat, we still won't have any food. My sister called around and found ONE bag of food at a Petsmart, about 30 minutes away and was willing to drive down and get it since she was off work. I called back to Green Valley, I made an appointment with for 6:00PM for that same evening and asked them if they would fax a prescription over to Petsmart so that we could pick up the food that afternoon and THEY WOULD NOT! This would have been a time difference of 4 hours maybe. They tried to say that it was about the health and well-being of my pet or legal issues but basically I was held hostage to make an appointment so I could feed my cat. Not only that, but I wasn't given a 4 hour courtesy so that I could have someone get the one bag of food that we could find and bring my cat in that same evening for his appointment. I wasn't asking for medication that could potentially harm him, I was asking for FOOD, that they had been prescribing him for over 8 years! Needless to say, we are looking for a new vet!! Read Less
