We just LOVE our Hometown Vet. Very nice clean office with plenty of parking in a well maintained parking lot and easy access for the disabled. Always a friendly face to greet us, always punctual, very knowledgeable, caring and patient!! Good quality care for reasonable fees. Our first visit a year ago was to have our dear kitty "Junior" put down due to cancer. The entire staff was so sensitive at such a difficult time. We even received beautiful flowers a few days after with a nice card of sympathy. We knew when we adopted another furry family member that this is where we would continue his care!!! Thank You EVERYONE at Hometown Veterinary Hospital. Read Less

If you are interested and were not aware of it at all, I will explain at the end. Molly our Labrador retriever came through her emergency spay ok so far. The doc had an emergency blood donor available, but so far it hasn't been needed. The doctor said her uterus was an absolute mess and we are lucky it was caught in time. She is on major antibiotics and will come home with them also. If everything is ok she will be able to come home tomorrow, but will require a lot of rest. No problem with Molly the couch sneaker there. Keep her in your prayers, please, she is not out of danger yet. It has been a long couple of days! . Maggie misses her too! The rest of the story, she started acting funny on Saturday, Sunday the same plus she started throwing up. Monday morning I took her to the vet. The doc what they call Pyro. Which is a shortened name for a long condition I can't spell. . It is a severe infection of a dogs uterus. Always new it was a possibility, but when she got past breeding age I didn't want to put her through her surgery and took a chance. Wrong choice. Anyways yesterday the vet said she needed emergency surgery and we were going with her recommendations completely. She called me when they were getting ready and said they couldn't do it because for some unknown reason her platelets were very low. Platelets are needed for clotting. She decided to keep her overnight and give her fluids and heavy duty antibiotics. Send her home today on more antibiotics and try to get the platelets up over the next couple of weeks. This morning they checked her and she was getting worse. The called a specialist and he said he would do the surgery immediately, but only with and blood available or an emergency donor. Thankfully, Doctor Williams has an emergency donor and came in on her day off to do the surgery! God Bless her and all her staff for sure!!!Read Less

The Vet techs were awesome and so helpful! This was the first ever visit for my puppies to any vet and they were nervous and the techs could tell so they were patient and very helpful in calming them down. The two star rating however is for the dr. Dr. Konsel came in and talked to me like I was a child. She looked at me and said maybe you should consider obedience school, to which I replied we have been talking about it and she said I would do more than just talk about it! I paid for the services provided, I did not pay to be talked down on by a butch Veterinarian. My puppies aren't even a year old yet, and obedience school will be in their future, when they are ready for it. Sadly because of the doctors poor social skills and lack of decency I will never come back to this hospital, I want the best for my dogs and I did not receive it by the doctor. The vet techs on the other hand are amazing! Read Less
