Dr. Adam Denish & staff are so loving and genuinely care about your animals. They have been my Vet for over 25 years and 2 snakes, 4 cats and 3 dogs over that time. My overall experience with this place was excellent. The level of service received was beyond satisfying. I got a same day appointment for my ferret. The vet was very attentive and got right down to the problem of what was making my little guy ill. Overall I am extremely satisfied and this will be my go to veterinarian. Read Less

Dr. Denish is so good and compassionate that in travel out of my way for almost an hour to take my pets. Only vet I can trust. When I received other opinions on my dog's leg he was the only one that stated she didn't need surgery and just needs rest. He was absolutely right and save me well over 3k! Read Less

I just got a couple of kittens and on a recommendation decided to mKe the Rhawnhurst Animal Hospital my vet. Very very pleased. The staff is extremely pleasant, which is saying something because I really had no idea what I was doing. The two kittens I have now are my first pets ever as an adult (had cats as a kid but now it's my turn). So I went in clueless and had a great experience. I had doctor Katz (the irony of that name alone should compel you to give this place a shot). She was very pleasant and very great with my furry little friends. The vet techs were wonderful and answered a lot of questions for me (so did doctor Katz). I was seen very quickly even though I was late and was out pretty quick! A five star visit and will be going back for all my vet needs. Read Less

Our pet rat rescue uses Dr Denish as our official vet for Philadelphia (we have a vet in each county and also parts of NJ for foster parents to bring our rats to if sick). Dr Denish is very good with rats and the office staff has always been very friendly.One word however, if you are bringing a small animal such as a rat, to be euthanized, they do not let you stay with the animal. I don't know why, esp. when other vets have let our foster parents stay with the rat to comfort them as they are put to sleep. Read Less

Dr. Katz of the Rhawnhurst Animal Hospital took care of my dog during the last year of his life.  I was really happy with the care my dog received and will absolutely return with future pets.  Having a good vet takes the stress out of pet ownership. We have used vets before that provided good service but were pricey, and we have gone to vets before that were affordable but wouldn't remember our dog or would always lose his chart. The Rhawnhurst and Elkins Park animal hospitals seem like that rare combination of caring and knowledgable vets and techs with an affordable price. Read Less

This place is just like the rest of the vet offices, they over charge you for services and they threaten to not sell you food products unless you do what they say. This business should be regulated just like people health care. Read Less

While traveling to see family in route overseas these wonderful folks made getting my big guys health certificate nearly painless.  They did all of the communication with the USDA office for me and made sure all was well before my trip. I was so happy to find this bastion of sanity after all my terrible experiences with vets in Philly. Rhawnhurst has friendly staff, good doctors and reasonable prices. Like all vets, I recommend you do your homework- before, during and after treatment. Veternariy medicine is definitely more art than science, so if you have access to google and are capable of being logical and observant, you can really save yourself a tremendous amount of time and money. Dr Denish Brought in rattie with huge swelling under the haunch. Received solid information about what may be causing this, and how to approach treatment. Medication reasonably priced. Felt much better after seeing the doc.Read Less

They are a great vet. Took care of our lab rats, and cats. They are pragmatic when trying to help your animal. Dr. Denish is a great doctor, and you can tell he cares a lot about helping animals. They look for the most cost effective and medically effective treatment available. We trust them a great deal with our animals, and still go to them even though we moved out of their neighborhood. Awhile back we had fostered  a dog who had been abused and hoarded, she also had severe separation anxiety. We wanted to get her the best care available, this place came highly recommended. Dr. Katz was cold towards our dog. She wouldn't even pet her. With one single blood test she diagnosed her as having heart worm. She pushed us to treat her immediately. We didn't. Instead we rushed her to the SPCA the same day, where Dr. Stupine administered 3 tests to be sure and she tested negative all 3 times. Thank god we trusted our intuition. I hear great things about Dr. Denesh but unfortunately we won't be returning. Thanks to Dr. Stupine that dog went on to be healthy, adopted and loved. Read Less

As soon as you walk in you'll know you're in good hands. Staff at the front desk is caring and listen to your needs. The doctors care about your beloved pets and ask lots of question so they know exactly what to do for them. On two occasions I had to rush my pets there and was taken right away no waiting for my turn. I have complete confidence in everyone there and would recommend them to anyone in the area. Read Less

These guys are great.  The Front office staff are very friendly, and listen to our concerns.  We took our adopted lab rats there (Dr. Denish is an expert on them!), and were very satisfied with how the rats were treated and cared for.  It's made us feel great that there was a local vet that could care for our "exotic pets".We also take our two DSH black cats to this Animal Hospital.  The doctors have never made us feel rushed, and they will ask a bunch of questions to get to the bottom of the issue.   I feel like they make cost effective decisions regarding care, prescriptions, labs, and overall medical treatment of our pets.  Also, after meeting with other vets, who told us one of our cats would need a total mouth extraction of all of his teeth, Rhawnhurst did their examination.  We were in a very vulnerable situation...infected teeth can kill your pets if left untreated.  They found that only 2 teeth couldn't be saved and needed to come out.    They were honest with us, and saved us several hundreds of dollars.  The doctors and staff treat our pets like they were their own.  In the end, what more would you want from your veterinarian?   We moved away from that area, but will continue to take our pets there.  It's a no-brainer.  So glad they are the ones who take care of our little guys! This place is good only if you go Wednesdays and get dr Weinberg. I give him a five it just sucks that the other days of the week dr Katz is there. She is nothing but money hungry. Check any vet reviews this place gets ones all around. That is so not fair cause dr Weinberg is great but its hard to have a vet open one day a week. Dr Katz is horrible she will tell you you need all these tests you don't need and if you say no she gives you well don't you really love your pet. She basically says your pet will die if you don't get bloodworms x rays and leave there spending over 300$ if your dog has loose poop. Horrible vet every day other then Wednesday. Read Less

We have been taking our beagles here for years. I don't even live in the area anymore but when you find a good vet, you keep going back. The staff is friendly and attentive; you can tell they truly care about the animals. Dr. Denish and Dr. Katz are amazing and take time with your pet to ensure the animal receives a comprehensive examination (more than I can say for some physicians). They are very thorough with explaining any procedures, medications, or potential health issues your pet may have. I take my beagle here for her routine check-ups, shots and teeth cleaning and have been very satisfied.  Dr. Denish was also able to refer some behavioral specialists as well for aggression.  I couldn't be more happy with this place and only wish they were closer to downtown. We always recommend Dr. Denish at Rhawnhurst Animal Hospital to any of our friends and family who are looking for a great vet who really cares. We know first hand from our own personal experience. When our ferret got sick (swollen lymph nodes), we made the mistake of deciding to try out Dr. Esteban at Street Road Animal Hospital due to a family referral and also the lure of a brand new facility with high tech equipment. Bringing our young ferret in for what we thought was a small infection turned out to be an extremely shocking and upsetting experience when within five minutes of seeing our ferret, Dr. Esteban told us she was filled with tumors and there was no option but to put her to sleep immediately. We decided to get a second opinion and took her to see Dr. Denish at Rhawnhurst (who specializes in small animals) and he was AMAZING. He gave us options the other vet didn't even put out on the table. He showed concern for our ferret right from the start and made it a point to take the time to explain everything to us. We also appreciated that he gave us affordable options to try first before going in the direction of expensive surgeries. Dr. Denish decided to try putting our ferret on antibiotics since they couldn't hurt and miraculously, she made a full recovery! Dr. Denish saved our ferret's life and we are so grateful that she is still around today! Even though sometimes there can be a long wait time to get an appt. for small animals with Dr. Denish, it is worth the wait! He is extremely knowledgable, very friendly and doesn't rush you out of your appointment. He takes the time to answer all of your questions and makes you feel very comfortable and optimistic about your pet's treatment and outlook. You can tell he is passionate about taking care of animals and that means so much when looking for a great vet! Only con I would say is not to be fooled by the office's appearance, it could definitely use a facelift but the quality of service you receive far surpasses their appearance! Read Less
